This weekend was so exhausting. M was being, well a 3 yr old and his sleep was crap too. I'm super antsy about getting our house ready for market and I can't get H motivated. I would just start doing stuff, but it's stuff like sanding/hanging drywall and painting are what really needs to be done. I have no qualms putting on a respirator and going to town, but I know that will just force H to do it as fast as he can, resulting in a really crappy completed job.

We were going to take the kids to see Santa on Saturday and use the photo for Christmas cards, but O fell and hit his head on Friday and needed stitches. Poor guy.
I'm having trouble getting motivated and focused at work. I'm just ready for the holidays!!

Here, on the phone with DirecTV. They offered me a lower rate to stay on when I called them in Oct., gave me the lower rate on the first bill, and now back to the old rate. So I'm cancelling. I don't have time for this bs. And I'm in a really bad mood today, so they totally picked the wrong day to mess with me. I'm cancelling Time Warner Internet also. The internet is so spotty (we loose speed constantly then I can't stream Netflix for example - when there is literally nothing else in the house using internet). They've tried to fix it several times and I've just had enough.
Last night we went to the the Light Show at Coney Island. It was nice, and DS really loved it. It was the prfect night for it since it was drizzling and you get to stay in the car.
sstwinklinglites, have you been to Sharon woods? How would you say Coney compared? I wanna go to Coney, but am wondering if it's worth the 40 min drive.
We are slowly starting to move stuff we don't use to DHs gmas basement for storage. Mainly baby stuff we are saving for whenever we have baby #2. I'm ready to get rid of a bunch of stuff and get our house ready for the market this spring.
Thurs, I'm taking the twins to get Christmas pics taken. Its my gift to their parents.
Tonight we are going to the Christmas ranch. I'll let you all knows how it is!
What's Christmas Ranch? We did the zoo on Friday. The visit with Santa was hilarious. DS looks like he's photobombing the baby because he wooodnt get close but he wanted the candy next to Santa. Then told Santa about his candy and that he wanted a bike.
Now... he has a bike. So what do I do? Ignore it because he's two and he doesn't get how this works?
We're working on getting our house ready to list as well. We need to clear out the basement and some furniture. I'm calling around about financing tomorrow. We're leaning towards building a house, but we'll see what else the realtor comes up with.

Aww poor O. Did you have to go to the emergency room?

Yeah I'd ignore the bike if he already has one.
The Christmas ranch is in morrow and they have a big lights display (walk through) and Christmas themed shops. Santa is there. And hot chocolate and other warm foods.

Sorry, trying to get my H on board/motivated with projects is the worst. That's probably why I have to hire out most of it.
dogmama22 any advice for my SIL who is probably having a C-section, and her bedroom and bathroom are upstairs in her house? How did you survive?
I'm not dogmama, but throwing in my 2 cents. She could probably just camp out upstairs with baby and have everything brought to her if her H or someone else is around. I did more walking up the stairs than I should have, but its manageable. She could also just scoot up/down the stairs on her butt if its too much. I really wish I could have found a ranch, bc even with recovery, just going up and down stairs with new baby is a pita. That's probably why I've bought 2 of a lot of stuff, so one is upstairs and another downstairs.

I had family with me for 2 weeks, so that made a huge difference, but had its negatives as well.
Every morning when we woke up, I would try to gather everything I'd need from upstairs - a couple of outfits each, burp cloths, bibs, etc. I'd go to the bathroom and then head downstairs to camp on the couch and only go back up if I needed to use the restroom.
I had a diaper changing area, boppy and a baby sleep surface for both floors so that I wouldn't have to haul too much back and forth. I had other people do all of the laundry for the first few weeks because it's in the basement.
Make sure she gets a belly binder before she leaves the hospital and high waisted underwear for once she's home. I may think of more later.

I'm scared to price how much it would cost to hire someone to replace paneling with drywall in 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, hall, and kitchen. Yikes.

I'm around today.
We did breakfast with Santa (through work) on Saturday and it was somewhat successful. She was so excited when he walked into the room (got an adorable picture of her excitement) but then, she was less than thrilled to sit on his lap. No crying, but in the pictures she just looks really disgusted with him. At least she looks cute!
Saturday night we went to the Festival of Lights at the zoo. That was a disaster. We now know to never go during the weekend unless you're already at the zoo when it starts. We waited in ridiculous traffic only to drive to 3 different parking lots that were full. We finally got to one that had spots and then wait in line to get inside. Then, it was ridiculously packed inside. And by the time we were in there, DD was so tired that she really was only pleasant for like the first 30 minutes. Needless to say, we didn't stay very long. Lesson learned!

We only have one TV and it wasn't comfortable to sit up in bed. That's the only reason my camp was downstairs

Yes, we went to the children's ER/urgent care in liberty township. They are so nice there. O also didn't cry during the stitches, but melted down when we turned the iPad. Of course!

JoBub depending on how long she is in the hospital afterward and if she has help, she may be able to do what I did, and try to go upstairs/downstairs just once a day. H would help me bring baby downstairs before he left for work and I just hung out on the main floor all day and then in the evening H would help me bring baby upstairs for the night. I don't think it's bad for your recovery to go up and down a lot, but you will get really sore so it's better to avoid.

I think she'll want to stay downstairs too. Their house is kind of a split level. It's like up a half-flight of stairs to get to the nursery & bathroom, then up another half flight to get to the master bedroom & bathroom (this might be the only shower at the moment, so she'll have to go up there). And then there's 2 more levels down from the main floor also.
So the good news is it's only 6-7 steps to get to the bathroom. So that won't be so bad. I wasn't sure if you were not allowed to do steps at all or what. And she'll for sure have help. I think her ILs live like 2 minutes away. And her parents are like 15 minutes away.
JoBub that's nice to have family so close. The stairs were only really bad for a few days after I was home (we were in the hospital for a while after he was born). The OB did say to limit as much as possible. I think she said no more than a few times a day, but I healed just fine and you have to do what you have to do.
vlagroupie it's just outside of Milford, technically in Goshen. It's hard to find somewhere central to build that's not $600K. I'll post the 2 floor plans in the PB.

Ok, so you would probably be in Loveland schools right?

It's Goshen schools, which I was pleasantly surprised at their data. My biggest concern is there's basically zero diversity. I'm hoping with the new construction in the area, it may become a little less farm town. Still not completely sold on sending him to public schools either.

Ok, I could have sworn that some new construction in goshen was also in Loveland district. That was kind of my feeling about being in Batavia.

I think you're right. When I was looking up tax info, some of Goshen was Loveland schools. I just don't know which new development it would be. I'll have to poke around.
