Still in awe over you STMs. If no one has said lately than I will..you are real life superheroes.
Not me. I'm largely farming out the work to DH as far as DS is concerned. When he goes back to work I'll have my nanny for backup. I'm legit terrified of trying to handle them both.
D has been having trouble settling to sleep since her audiologist visit yesterday. I mean, she did okay overnight but naps have been hard. She was awake all through moms group even though I could tell she was super tired, so when we got home I immediately swaddled her and handed her to DH for cuddles and she fell right asleep.
Then I decided to make a smoothie with DS and the sound apparently was too much for her in the other room because she screamed and screamed. I felt so awful! I popped a boob in her mouth to settle her then set her down upstairs in her room with the noise machine on to try to let her rest, but she kept crying.
Now I'm up here just rocking her. The boys are downstairs decorating the Christmas tree and I feel shitty about missing that. I could try setting her down again but I also feel like she really needs me right now and I'll feel even shittier if she is crying again in 5 minutes.
dashook Boy that's tough. We are waiting on MIL to bring back part of our nutri ninja so we can start smoothies again but I'm already anticipating it not being a hit with the babies. I'm sorry she's been out of sorts since the appt yesterday, hopefully she just needed 24ish hours and tonight will be glorious. But it totally sucks to be missing Xmas tree decorating 😕 Hopefully she settles and you can get down there.
This morning's trip out of the house for coffee with Adeline was a success! I can't believe it. Granted we only went through a drive through coffee shop that's about two miles from my house but I did it - this was my first solo trip out with either of them. Next will be an attempt at taking both in the car, and then one or both with me into a place. I'm so intimidated to do these things so it felt really good.

I respectfully disagree. Proper delegation is an art form!
I'm not gonna lie, one of the awesome parts of having somewhat older kids is having them help during those times. I'm just like, hey kid 2, take that marker from kid 4, or hey kid 1, find the remote and turn on a show for kid 3.

Also, with regard to laundry, I actually prefer to do it daily because it stresses me out to have it pile up. I do at least one load every day, and this time of year with thicker/heavier clothes, I frequently do it twice, but it definitely helps that I wash everything together without bothering to sort.

At least you're using other adults to handle parenting tasks; I totally farm things out to my seven and five year olds all the time.
Watching Hairspray Live... So so cool. I think I mentioned that my brothers ex gf is in it, not a front and center role but still cool. Also waiting for her commercial to air, a Reddi whip commercial.
Adeline has been sleeping for 4+hrs, Alec is up eating AGAIN - second time in an hour and a half.
waitwhat OMG, what an emotional roller coaster that episode was! From the rooftop scene with Randal and his coworker to the very last scene with Toby...wut!! How am I supposed to wait until Jan 10th?
Little L had 2 day appointment today! He's gained 3oz but failed his hearing again! We'll get a referral to an Audiologist at his 2-week appointment. I have to learn to turn off my brain... slept till 2ish, fed baby, and couldn't fall back to sleep! I've never been good at falling asleep fast! So I'm averaging 2 hours a night!

Watch it!! I tried to make sure I wouldn't spoil anything for anyone. Lets just say your jaw will drop at the end 😮!
I really want one of the mint Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches in the freezer, but I can't have it yet because I have a full glass of wine left and the mint will ruin it.
I cried earlier while rocking DS at bedtime. He'll be 2 exactly a month from tomorrow. He's so big. I kept thinking about how I used to rock and nurse him when he was D's size. It's so surreal how fast this goes.
