Working well: I feel like we're falling into a good routine with nursing both during the day and at night.
Struggles: none at the moment
Questions/concerns: looking forward to her ped appointment today to see how much she weighs. Not knowing how much she's getting during each feed isn't a worry, but it's always in the back of my mind. I'm really hoping she's back to or above birth weight.
Goals: Goal 1 is one month, goal 2 is six months, goal 3 is a year.
GTKY: tried bm but I couldn't bring myself to try formula last time. The smell of it before and after it comes out just doesn't make me want to try it.

How old is LO? 10 days
What is working well for you this week? Making sure to offer the other breast, even if he is passed out.
What are you struggling with this week? Nothing
Questions/concerns? Not today.
Have you set any feeding goals? I breastfed DS1 for 6 months, so that's my goal this time. I love breastfeeding in the beginning, but after a few months I'm ready to have my body completely back to myself.
What is working well for you this week? Other than sleep deprivation, we've had a really good week
What are you struggling with this week? LO doesn't want to nurse from both sides so he will eat more frequently. I don't mind during the day but it's been tough at night.
Questions/concerns? I want to start pumping soon but I'm not ready to commit to it every day yet. I'm going to give it a few more days and see how I feel. It will be nice to have a small stash before LO starts daycare.
We are going to try a bottle this week. Fingers crossed it goes well.
Have you set any feeding goals? Long term: one year. Short term: 6 months
GTKY - have you ever taste tested BM or formula? I tried BM with DS1 but I don't really remember how it tasted.

How old is LO? 22 days
What is working well for you this week? BF is going well still; having a bit more nipple tenderness so I'm trying to be better about applying the nipple butter.
What are you struggling with this week? At night if he only nurses from 1 side he's up in 1-1.5 hours. So even though I'm exhausted, I need to do better about waking him up to nurse from the other side.
Questions/concerns? N/A
Have you set any feeding goals? 1) 3 months 2) 6+ months
GTKY - have you ever taste tested BM or formula? No! But I want to lol I'm just working up the courage. My H thinks I'm crazy.

How old is LO? 5 weeks
What is working for you this week? She's a great eater. I think (knock on wood) that the Zantac is working beautifully, my MSPI diet finally feels more routine and less like I'm restricting myself of everything I love in this world, stools are looking back to normal.
What are you struggling with this week? I'm worried her rash means I'll have to cut more food out. I'm waiting until we see the pediatric dermatologist before I do that. All the tx y'all recommended seem to calming it down so FX it's not diet related. I also need to get more BM pumped and find a bottle she accepts.
Questions/concerns? Should I only freeze BM in 1 oz increments until we find a bottle she likes? We keep having to throw a bunch out because she's taking a few sips and then refusing it. I'm only pumping about 4-5 oz a day so tossing it hurts. I feel kind of lost with this pumping and storing stuff. I know how long it's good for under the different circumstances, but that's about it. Should probably start to go.ogle....
ETA: QOTW- hard pass. I wish I was that adventurous.
sophiegrace I think maybe it'd make sense to store the milk in smaller amounts for "test" feeds. You could even use an ice cube tray to do it if you don't want to waste storage bags. If memory serves I think 1 ice cube slot holds about .5 oz of milk.
What is working well for you this week? Keeping a burp cloth close at hand during feedings, to catch let down and also for spit up (see below). She only nurses one side at a time still but my milk seems to have regulated perfectly to accommodate this.
What are you struggling with this week? My let down is fast (especially on the right) and sometimes she'll just spit out the nipple when it's happening. Apparently she'd rather get sprayed in the face lol. Catching it in the cloth helps. But I think it's still pretty fast after that because I've noticed she's spitting up more often now after feeds. Last night she actually had one so big that I questioned whether she was vomiting or spitting up. She started coughing after like 8 minutes of nursing and then out it came. She wanted to nurse again almost immediately afterwards because I'm pretty sure she emptied her stomach 😕
Questions/concerns? Nothing really.
Have you set any feeding goals? Minimum one year EBF (just like DS) and then continue nursing for as long as we both want to
GTKY - have you ever taste tested BM or formula? Never formula. BM I've tasted when it was in something (like cereal/oatmeal or puree)--it's delicious! I always find it funny when people are disgusted by breastmilk but are fine with drinking milk from the breast of a great filthy farm animal. Just how we're conditioned I guess.

Bumping this. I pumped another 10 ozs this morning (an hour after nursing). Most was from lefty (my stud). Loving how quickly this is helping me get a stash, but man the morning engorgement is killer.

That's awesome!! I'm a little jealous of you right now! I have about 10oz in the freezer at the moment, but I only started pumping this week!
I haven't really been pumping yet. I have 2 bottles' worth frozen just from times I've needed relief from engorgement. I think once she hits a month I might start pumping after her morning feed to start building the stash up. We haven't introduced a bottle yet either so that should also be interesting when we try it.

Feeding question: if I thaw breast milk, put it in a bottle and he doesn't finish it, do I have to dump it? Kelly mom was vague on this topic saying there haven't been any studies done on how safe it is with regards to bacteria growth.

I know that at a daycare, they will toss a bottle (fresh or frozen) if baby doesn't finish it within an hour. I think that's the "guideline." Me? I would still use it within 24 hours of thawing.

Rule of thumb that i followed and I think daycare followed was that it was good for an hour after offered.
What is working well for you this week? Right nipple feels much better.
What are you struggling with this week? Supply at night seems low, need to drink and eat more.
Questions/concerns? Nothing in particular
Have you set any feeding goals? Exclusive bf until 6 months, after that I will assess sanity and pumping at work. Last time I pumped until a year and bf until 15 months. This time work will be busier, plus double dropoffs, so going to cut myself a break if needed. I'd like to bf though for as long as we both want to, hoping for at least a year.
GTKY - have you ever taste tested BM or formula? Nope

Thawed is ok for 24 hours in fridge After it's warmed and he has drank any from the bottle, one hour. It's the warmth and bacteria from his mouth that's the issue. I feel comfortable letting that go slightly longer though.
