Happy weekend! My MiL and SIL are heading over for the afternoon. I'm trying to straighten up a little bit, but not killing myself. I a little indifferent about today. Hoping j doesn't cough on us and get the rest of us sick.
Happy weekend! My in laws are here so that will keep us busy. Unfortunately it's really cold here and DD and MIL have colds and had coughs so I don't think we will be going anywhere. Maybe H and I can escape and see fantastic beasts this afternoon.
This trip has already made me aware of some new parenting issues we will need to navigate re teaching the balance of respecting adults while standing up for yourself *sigh*. This is seriously going to be tough given FIL. I will save that for ruminating next week and avoid ww3.

Morning all. Finally got a decent 4.5 hour stretch last night (longest since DS2 was born) so feeling very thankful for that. DS1 is finally feeling better as well. It was a long week so hoping for a low key weekend!
Morning! My coffee has been sitting next to me for over an hour and it's cold now. Will still drink it, but it's just not the same. It's suppose to snow most of the weekend and we don't have much planned. Hoping to relax and just do some online shopping for some final Christmas gifts.

DH took Lillian over to my mom's house so Lilah and I got to sleep in! I'm watching Netflix and hanging out now. They should be back soon, though. Then I'm taking Lillian to a birthday party for a bit and after that we are going on a short jaunt to get some white elephant presents. DH has his math department gift exchange this week and I have a mno gift exchange with my club.
I tried to take a video of Lilah rolling over this morning, but once I was ready she'd already done it and was over tummy time. Guess I'll try again later. I still can't believe she can do that.
Morning, going through Fridays thread to continue to catch up! Last 2 nights have been better, but of course they are right before DH has to go back to work for 5 weeks! (He leaves Monday ). 😱I'm quite nervous about this but am trying to remember single mom's do this all the time and I'm not alone, I have my mom!
aggiebug, that is such a hard lesson to learn and teach! Being an adult, I struggle with respecting my elders and standing up for myself ! I'm a people-pleaser which doesn't help either!

Today we're planning on doing nothing all day and staying at home. It's been a long time since we've done that just the three of us. H is hooking up the heated floors in the bathroom and maybe hanging the mirrors but we need to finish painting first. I'm getting hungry and should make a healthy breakfast but I'm thinking about making the cinnamon rolls that I bought instead.
Tomorrow H has another football game and I'm supposed to go to a friend's baby's baptism. It's supposed to snow all day though and I'm worried about the 40 minute drive with C. I'll have to see how things are going.
Feeding C at the moment so I am enjoying the opportunity to put my feet up! B's party is at 2; it's just family but certain people are bad about getting underfoot when I'm entertaining so I like to have everything done before guests arrive.
C had a pretty good night; DH gave her a supplemental bottle around 10 and she slept til 2. I went ahead and went to bed and then took the 2 am wake-up while DH slept. I think this may be our new routine, that way we both get a decent block of sleep (sad when 3-4 hours is considered decent!)
cheshie6 I'm so sorry your H has to leave but glad your mom is close by to help out. Are y'all doing anything to celebrate the holidays before he leaves?
My big one has a 102 fever I gave him some tylenol and put him down for a nap. Hoping it doesn't last long. Poor thing gets a fever and asthma flair up EVERY time he gets a cold. I'm just glad it's a Saturday and not a daycare day.
J is bathed, fed and sleeping in her room, MH and DS are grocery shopping and I'm enjoying the silence. I'm sure it will last 2.5 minutes but I'll take it.
Is anyone else's baby congested but doesn't have a cold? Sounds weird but I've had her lungs checked and she is all clear, the ped said that some babies can be congested for up to 3 months from clearing all the fluids from birth.
It bothers her sleeping about 3am ish and she can't be laid flat. I have her mattress propped up but it's not high enough and of course she is the least congested sleeping on me. Anyone else?
Sometimes it sounds like C has a stuffy nose but I can't get anything out when I try.
LizInFL, when DH is away at Christmas, I still do some things (candle light service, drive around to see the lights) but usually I wait till he's home and do Christmas then! I have the Yule log on DVD, and a bunch of Christmas movies we watch, and I DVR the Disney Christmas parade to watch when he's home! Basically, we make a random Saturday in January Christmas!
vinolove, L has a stuffy nose but like you said, our Ped said it probably has more to do with being a c-section and not clearing things out for baby!

+1 It's mostly when she's been crying hard for us.

Aaaaand we're going through our first leap. That past couple of days make a lot more sense now. At least that's what I'm hoping for since that's means it's only temporary!

Also have a constantly congested baby. The ped said it was normal for the first few months. I try to suction him (which he loves... Sarcasm...) but I never really get anything.
(Also a c section baby, but not sure if that matters)
I more get concerned about her ability to breathe with my big old boob around her face when she's nursing. I know their noses are supposed to he designed for that but I still hold down the skin/tissue of my breast around her nose down when she nurses so her nostril is clear. Does anyone else do this? I realize it sounds weird lol

dashook if he's positioned where his nose is completely blocked, I do but normally I try to angle him so I don't have to. I think having smaller boobs might be helpful in this instance.

I think D tried to smile at me earlier. She can't quite figure it out yet but for a split second I got a preview and it was amazingly beautiful.
The first time DS smiled at me happened at the same time my PPD was starting to clear up. It might have been the reason it did. I think I might legitimately weep with joy when I see this one for real.
Just stumbled across this article about toddler behaviour. It sounds similar to what I (and some others i think ) have gone through lately. Basically, give your kid a break and lower your expectations.
