dogmama22 we asked our realtor for his thoughts on which lenders has the best rates ads he recommended a few for us to check out.
Thank you. Ours recommended a couple of lenders and our bank. One wants us to officially get pre-approval and one isn't getting back to me. Waiting to hear back from the bank now :/

Does anyone have any recs on where to donate coats? I have 2 infant coats (one never used, one used once) and a couple adult coats that are like new. I don't want to take them to goodwill. Like I want someone who actually can't afford a coat to have them. Can I just walk into a homeless shelter and drop them off?

A women's shelter would probably take them? WHW? Dress for Success?
speaking of mominthemaking14 did you get the text I sent this weekend about some possible donations for WHW? I may have your number saved wrong if not.

dogmama22 - We used LendingTree and got pre - approved thru several lenders. I can see the rates each was offering us and then reach out to whichever I wanted. Lending Tree basically does all the work for you.

Well I'm about to leave for my math final. T&P's that I can pull off an A. I'm not sure that I can because I didn't do so well on my last test and our tests are weighted at 60%, but we'll see....
What are y'all watching on tv these days? On tv or Netflix and hopefully something my H would watch too. This is us is over for a few weeks and bachelor doesn't start until January.

dogmama22 do NOT use Union Savings Bank. They royally screwed up the closing with the buyers of our house. If the closing costs are dirt cheap there is probably a reason.
Also my fitbit died and I just got my replacement. In under the wire- Dec 26 would be my cut off date for the warranty. They are such pos those fitbits.
They sent us mail all the time and we waited until it was a good rate and $0 closing cost to refinance. Maybe call and ask? I'm not sure we used anyone specific. I'll ask H.
I think we use Guardian too. Best rates and closing costs that we found.
Also- I'm still looking for a sports team to buy equipment for.
I'd just try to contact your local public school district to offer to donate equipment. That's probably where most underprivileged kids play. Or maybe like a YMCA or some kind of aftercare program? Either way, I bet the secretary at a school could point you in the right direction.

Maybe Cincy public? The schools here aren't hurting.

Personally, I'd want to try my own district first. Even in a wealthy district, there may be a handful of students who struggle to pay athletic fees. If you're wanting to make a cash donation, I'm sure it could be allocated to a student in need. But yeah, I'm sure CPS could name plenty of ways to help as well. In a district that large, there's probably a full time athletic director you could get ahold of.

I see what you mean. I was thinking more of buying something for the whole team in a district that gets little funding- like their soccer balls or basketballs - and has majority of students that can't afford it but I can see where you're saying there are individuals who can't afford it in wealthy districts.
I'll get our guys name and post in the PB. He was great to work with. Had a call with him to walk through all the papers I didn't want to sign until I fully understood it... H was about to lose his mind lol

becole that makes sense. I just think if you have a district that is near and dear to you for whatever reason, try there first. You never know what the situation may be. For instance, nobody would ever describe the school I work in as needy or underprivileged, but our growing performing arts department is currently fighting to get music stands for rehearsals, because there just isn't a budget for it. Stuff like that happens in every district if something was overlooked or rejected when the budget was made last year, or more kids go out for a team than expected. But if you don't have any attachment to a certain school, then I totally agree with contacting CPS because they probably have the greatest need.

becole maybe one of the independent schools? I'm not sure if the situation is the same as it was 10-15years ago, but I remember Holmes, Dayton, and Ludlow schools always having older/worn uniforms and their equipment wasn't the greatest.
