requiressnacks, is it possible he needs a different formula from Gianna? There's some research out there from the Celiac Disease and Intestinal disease research community looking into c-section babies and their intestinal systems, to see if there is a link later in life to Celiac or allergies. Much like how c-section babies often have a lot of fluid in their lungs from not being squeezed through the birth canal they think that some bacteria that gets stuck in baby's intestines and stomach could cause allergies and such. There is apparently a high incidence of celiac cases being c-section babies who had to be formula fed and in particular need special formula(I fell into this category, I was on soy formula when I was born). Just a thought. I hope they figure out what is ailing him and it's an easy fix.
+1 to switching to a different formula. Some babies can just be really sensitive to certain formula and may need a different kind. My good friend ended up using nutrimigen formula and her LO was like a whole new baby. Might be worth a try.

Thanks! He is actualky on a different formula, which is a high calorie formula that he's been on since the NICU. I think most of his problems stem from his difficulty feeding from his tongue tie. Even though they clipped his tongue he still struggles to keep up with little sister. Luckily, he's gaining weight. Just not at such a rapid pace.
requiressnacks I've heard that the fluids they give you for a C-section actually make the cankles worse for a while, so I'm mentally prepared (and actually prepared, with my size 11 flip flops in my hospital bag. in non pregnant life I am an 8.5).

crimpgirl...it's thinning. WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MENA!! Ugh. Shit like that drives me bonkers. I will probably get the same damn thing today. When I go in. I had crazy BH yesterday but that was probably all it was a lil show for my body to be annoyed with. I hope that the US goes well later this week! My Dr. is like a US Nazi and have to bribe her to do one.
@mommatoava Please keep us posted and GL!! T&Ps your way.
Lucy I love the lil bald man look. DD looked just like that...oh snuggles! Does she have a Christmas outfit..if your going to say no..I suggest you get one.
emilie, you're swollen for maybe 48-72 hours after a c-section. Just drink lots of water to flush it all out. I remember the swelling and cankles, but I don't remember it being anything extreme. But I also did not have much swelling prior to giving birth, so maybe it was different for me.
requiressnacks, the high cal formula was actually harder on my preemie's digestive system than regular -- I want to say he was on the Enfamil one, but it was almost 10 years ago, so I could be remembering wrong. Once we switched him to regular, everything chilled out.
emilie, the post c/s cankles can be rough for sure! They were horrid with my last 2 babies. I somehow managed to skip them this go round though.
crimpgirl, Cora always measured small too. She dropped a bit percentage wise -- from the 15th to the 11th -- in the last couple of weeks, but was otherwise healthy. Her size was never an issue either since everything else seemed just fine. She was delivered at 37 weeks because of my blood pressure. If it weren't for that, they probably would have let her go until my scheduled c/s date (which was yesterday).
WineNChocolate, all 3 of my babies had the exact same bald man look! She's nearly identical to DS's newborn pictures though, and we got soooo many comments about him looking exactly like H's dad, who was totally bald on top. Also, she sort of has a Christmas outfit -- she has that hat and a Christmas onesie to go with it

Thanks ladies! I'd love to get off the high cal formula.....for many reasons....including that we go through an $18 can every 2 days. Why don't they make a bigger can?!
