I spent 2 hours under the hood of my car last night. Was able to get everything running normally and the hood latch fixed. H leaves with my car and gets a mile up the road before the same thing happens. So now I've got an hour and a half to find somewhere who can look at it, get it towed, and figure out a rental car.
Also woke up with a major migraine, so that's fun. I will be using at least one of my starbucks rewards today for sure.
O was up about an hour early this morning. I went to bed about an hour late last night. I do not like this equation. He's ucky and goopy and coughy. He basically just snuggled/dozed on me for another 45 minutes after he got up. It wasn't terrible aside from the fact that I have to be at work today.

I ate Christmas cookies for breakfast today. I regret nothing.
I've also already placed 2 online orders today- dd's bitty baby from my mom, and some fishing stuff for H from bass pro. Which, btw, came up as a blocked site on my work computer for "weapons". So I'm sure I'm on some sort of watch list now
Running a few errands to stock up before the weather turns crazy cold over the next few days. Also, it was cookie baking day yesterday so I plan to reward myself by eating a cookie after each item I cross off on my to do list. If I add eat breakfast to my list do I get a cookie for that?
DS has been waking up around 6 instead of around 7. I've been letting him play in his crib longer in the mornings while I run around and try to get ready, because trying to get ready with a toddler in the bathroom is basically impossible, but I still feel guilty for leaving him in his dark room, even though he's normally just chatting with his stuffed animals, perfectly content sounding. So I think we might experiment with a later bedtime, because I really don't want to be waking up around 6 in two weeks when we're on Christmas vacation.
We're having friends over for dinner Saturday (just one other couple that we're pretty close with so casual) and I'm making carnitas tacos. Do I need a side or can I just do the meat, toppings (cheese, salsa, guac, sour cream), and tortillas? I'll do queso and chips as an app. Thoughts/ideas? mrsmonogrammed I'm at 2 Amazon orders for the day so far but I think almost done with Christmas shopping! One nephew left to buy. My poor UPS man.
I'd probably just throw a salad on the table and call it a day.
Another day in paradise for me. I have my year end review at 10 and my boss gets to open up her Christmas present from me before she goes back to Pittsburgh! Otherwise just a cold day here and working like usual!

Personally I'm not a fan of rice and beans, but I would make them since I think I'm in the minority with that one.
Today is LBB's Christmas party at school. They're wearing pajamas, baking cookies, and doing a secret Santa. He's refused to wear the new pajamas I got him a couple weeks ago because he wanted the first time he wore them to be today for the party. Save
Well, DH wasn't lying when he said that this potential job opportunity would move fast. He came home last night and told me that the Dallas branch wants him to submit his salary and relocation expense requests by 12/31 so they can begin the negotiations to sign him on. So, um, I guess I get to start researching median incomes in Dallas and what the hell a fair relocation expense request would be for moving from California to TX (I feel like we should get more since we'll be doing this with a not quite 2 year old and a newborn )
B and I are finishing off our Christmas shopping today. It's going to be soooo busy, but the girls have been sick for the past 2 weeks and this is the first day they don't seem super miserable. Wish us luck!
I'm also still trying to declutter our house so that we list it, which is turning out to be a ridiculously huge task while solo parenting. Please send me motivation to actually accomplish something during naps and after bed time.
Morning!! C and I have already done a grocery store run and are back home playing. I wanted to stock up on some essentials before the super cold weather hits and we are expecting another big snowstorm Friday into Saturday. Apparently they are calling for another 18 inches. We had a decent snow the 1st weekend of Dec (close to 5 inches) but the ground wasn't frozen and it warmed up outside so almost everything melted. Then this last weekend we got another 8 inches. Looks like we'll have our white Christmas this year. Finally got our Christmas cards designed/ordered and picked up. Hopefully I can get them addressed while C naps. I also have to work on addressing our business Christmas cards (but I'm waiting on DH to tell me who all is getting them) jillywilly, I'm so jealous that you can leave LO in his crib to play after he wakes up. C wakes up screaming. There is no way he would just play in his crib.
Ugh....I hate making mistakes at work!! I had a patient reschedule her surgery that was supossed to be yesterday to today and I forgot to move it on the schedule, so the doctor got a "where the hell are you" call from the surgery center this morning. I feel like such an idiot.
The rest of my morning I've been out of sorts because of that. I'm thinking sushi for lunch as a pick me up.

Ugh, I'm sorry! I've been in your exact spot (except court hearings, not surgery). It just happens sometimes, we are human. But it still feels awful

Snack recommendation: I am completely in love with the Sargento Balanced Breaks.
It's prepackaged cheese, nuts, and dried fruit. I could definitely make it myself, but I'm digging the convenience of having it already portioned out for me. Plus, I'm lazy.
billyhorrible, my DS loves those! My mom keeps them around as a snack for him when he goes over. I've never bought them because like you said, I could just make them myself. But I haven't, so there is that.
So I have a phrase that I noticed myself using a lot. I say "brand clean". Like "oh great, LO just got juice all over his brand clean sleeper". I did not realize this was weird until I texted it to my cousin in AZ and she started freaking out, saying she uses that phrase too and everyone always makes fun of her! Any of you say "brand clean" or hear anyone else say it?
Had my year end review... and of the 50% that I can control in regards to my bonus i am getting a 99/100. So very happy!! Now hoping the rest of the company did their thing and i get that nice fat bonus that i am expecting!! I need to pay some bills and i need some new boots.

Today has been challenging to say the least. No internet last night so we called a tech out. Fucking AT&T cut our line because the tech didn't check something first. I work from home fso no Internet means no work. I'm going to Starbucks and luckily DH is home this week since FIL is in town. I also still have to send out Christmas gifts, wrap stuff, the dishes never end and my kid is suddenly a whiney toddler asshole who won't go to bed and wakes up at 4:30am! Calgon take me away!!!!
The one thing..the bright spot that I am clinging to is next Thursday when my boss planned a freaking SPA DAY!!! For me , her and the other designer as our Christmas gift! I am so giddy for that day, it's like the best Christmas EVAR!
Looking to do the same thing today. I just need to decide on which ones. Which ones did you pick?
I got these ones. Not super sexy, but I need a good pair of sturdy boots for the amount of snow we get:
I was going to get those ones, too! I went to Target today, but they only had the tan ones, but they fit well, so I know I will like them when I order them.
