We are big on swaddles over here. I've swaddled both boys since day 1. Both seem to like it (although I've never really tried anything different so who knows lol). With DS1 we did a gradual transition (one arm out, then two, then transitioned from swaddle to the wearable blanket. I don't remember him having any issues but who knows. I'm realizing my memory of these things is pretty terrible - blame slee deprivation!
I am not "cleared" for at least 2 more weeks. Thank the lord.
We've been out all day and just got home; B is napping in the car and I've got the door open to the kitchen so I can hear when he wakes up. C is nursing and I'm loving the peace and quiet.
All the photos are so great. Love these n16 babies!
hangry So happy to read your update about E. sophiegrace Cheers to having your house back and feeling better today!
Also...last post...team swaddle, at least for my kids. B eventually outgrew it but there were no issues with transition or anything. C seems to like it, I do leave one arm out because she likes to flail a bit the first couple minutes after we put her to bed/nap.

O hanging out. I'm finding it's hard to get him to nap during the day. He stays awake for so long that I think he gets over tired and then the crying starts. Today, I had to swaddle him (Team Swaddle) to get him to calm down. Normally, we only swaddle at night and not for naps. *poof*
Adeline has been a perfect angel all day. First she gave me last nights long stretches of sleep. Then this morning she let me put her in her RnP BEFORE she fell fully (as in she fell asleep in it on her own, note this is the first time I recall in weeks that she did not require to fall asleep in my arms). Then she was a champ at Starbucks and even though she was exhausted she didn't cry once just gazed drowsily at everything. Then again tonight she let me put her in the RnP before she fell asleep. I don't think she's cried once today, at least not that I remember.
And we skipped the witching hour entirely tonight with both kids!!!!
Somehow I feel like I'm gonna be paid back handsomely tonight or tomorrow.
cheshie6, yup that's one of the perks of a BMB--someone to "talk" to in the MOTN! buckyb happy birthday to your big boy!
D just slept about a 4 hour stretch, has fed, and is back to sleep on me. Hoping for another 3-4 hours to come once I put her back down. Hope all these babies are being kind to their mamas tonight!
dashook, no luck here! 2nd night in a row L seems to fall asleep, but cries the moment I put him in his bassinet! I'm sure it's lack of sleep, but I'm feeling like I'm parenting wrong! My night thus far is p: left boob, diaper change, right boob for a few minutes, another diaper change, back on right boob, now again on left boob! In between each boob he falls asleep, I put him down, he cries, back up on opposite boob. Then when he does actually fall asleep, it takes me 20-30 minutes to fall asleep!?!
vinolove We turn out lights off when we go to bed. I agree. Why leave them on all night when you're not going to see them? Also, we used to have to drive Lillian around at night. It was the only way to get her to settle some nights. It sucked driving in circles motn. Hopefully you'll be able to sleep soon if not already.
waitwhat Oh man. I hate the spit up right down the cleavage. I've started using her little blankets to cover my whole upper body in an attempt to protect myself.
We are up for nursing session #1. She already nursed both sides and is sleeping on me, but she doesn't seem settled enough to go back in the pnp yet. DH is awake... Apparently he's too excited about Star Wars tonight to sleep. Lol. At least I have company.

This sounds very familiar; it was my lyfe with DS. He hated to be put down ever. You aren't doing anything wrong! He probably just likes the warmth and smell of you so when you put him in the bassinet, he wakes from the transition.
One trick I have heard of is to put a heating pad down on the baby's sleep surface for a few minutes before you put them down and remove it just before you do so there's a warm spot there.
It also takes me 20-30 minutes to fall asleep now 😕
vinolove maybe those people just knew you needed something to look at tonight so they left their lights on. Glad McD's was open for you too! Hopefully J settled and you're getting some sleep now.
Idk how far I'd have to drive to find something open around here MOTN. Probably all the way into Boston but even there, there's not much. I have lived up here for 8+ years but I still have so many moments where I really, really miss NYC. You could get any type of food known to man at any time of day or night there.

We went to bed just before 11 last night and C slept until 2:30. H got up with him. Then all 3 of us woke up to the alarm at 5:30. I don't know if it was the full body swaddle or the bath or just a random occurrence but it was nice!
dashook, I miss NYC too, especially MOTN food! Also the variety!
I totally cheated last night and let L sleep on me! I got 5 hours and it feels good. It is bitterly cold outside and of course one of the dogs has a vet appointment this afternoon! I tried to reschedule but she is due for rabies and her 1 year appointment so I couldn't put it off for too long. Grr
