We are down to double digits people - 9 days til christmas! I need help with my vegetable dish for christmas. I'm sick of my usuals: bean casserole, whiskey carrots, maple bacon Brussel sprouts. Any ideas for something new? H already veto'd cream spinach. I need to get going with this menu!
dreemkin it's looking like it. We are hopefully going to test drive some this weekend and then look to purchase between Christmas and new years if possible/ if we do go through with it.
This morning was really mild do I let V go out and play in the back yard, even though it's sopping wet out there. He enjoyed himself and now we ate eating breakfast.
dreemkin my sister makes a cheesy broccoli casserole for holidays and my mom has man green beans dressed with lemon, butter and bacon that was good and different.

I spent the last 3 hours taping up DS's roomy to paint. Just need to finish taping along the ceiling and then I can get down to business. Our room will have to be another day.
kartish we are looking at the Acadia possibly the traverse. Right now passenger capacity is playing a big role.
my next vehicle will be an Acadia. i love them.
My parents have one we like it a lot too but the 2017 are significantly smaller you can't get 3 in the back row now which is a bummer. For that reason alone I think we are focusing on the 2016.

Work this morning then another Christmas party tonight. We had a wedding dinner last night, one of our friends had a courthouse wedding and we got together with her and her husband to celebrate. It was a nice night.

It's randomly 80 degrees here today. It was cold yesterday & will be cold again tomorrow. Of course DS is sick and when we asked if he wanted to go to the park, he said "no, stay home please." So we're just hanging out today.
mmarie not as much snow here but we have been staying in as well. kartish congrats to your friends!
We did some house cleaning this morning. Now we are debating going to a Christmas party tonight. The weather is supposed to be bad although so far there hasn't been much snow. It's about half an hour away at night so not even sure if it's worth going with kids.
We stayed in last night and watched the Angry Birds Movie as a family. That was so much better than I expected! It snowed a decent amount but it is bitterly cold so we will stay in aaaaagain. I'm getting cabin fever!!
Its -12 degrees right now. I had to get out of the house. I went to the grocery store and just wandered. I needed to get out the house by myself for a little bit. It was glorious.
Well we came home with 2 cars instead of just one. 😁. We got the Acadia and I am excited wee and then they were giving away a Denali power wheels which we won as well. S says 'I wuv it!'
At this point H thinks it should be her Santa gift but she will clearly remember it... Not sure what to think on that front.
Also I am not a big power wheels fan as in I told H a long time ago that I didn't want to buy one or really have one gifted but now we have one... Oh man.
aggiebug is that signed by a sports player of some sort? I would maybe make it a Christmas present from you guys and shuffle around for Santa. That is a pretty big item to win! Congrats on the adult car deciding too! Did you get the 2016?
This week we had our staff Christmas party. We rented a hall and they got a dj and a photo booth. I little awkward for 1-4 in the afternoon. But it was fun.
This weekend I went out of town for a funeral. Dh was on kid duty. My great aunts husband died (he was ill) but they were married for 64 years! After the wake she wanted everyone to come back to the house to do two shots of fireball. Lol. Then of course it turned into a crazy party. I was sooooo hung over the next and multiple people were blaming me and my 'fancy shots' for their hangovers lol
I've taken on the 40 bags, 40 days decluttering challenge. I did it before we moved and it worked out really well. We had a productive day and got a lot cleaned up!

Yeah it's signed by a Redskins football player -Chris Cooley I think? He was there actually, nice guy. She is getting a rug from us for her room so that seems like a strange Santa gift (I was thinking practical from us since she is getting so much and wouldn't notice). We could keep her current Santa and make the rug a birthday gift I guess but that seems like a lot from us.
And thanks! It went well and I am so happy to have some more space. And yup it's a 2016
aggiebug congratulations on the car, it looks pretty sweet!
@mishka2o DH and I have been trying to declutter things, how does the 40 days challenge go?
Rant ahead My mom brought over some things tonight...presents that aren't "for Christmas" because he may want to open something before Christmas. Not to be ungrateful for her generosity, but one, he's not even two. He doesn't know what Christmas is and doesn't know about any presents are in his near future; and two I've asked her multiple times to not spoil him with an abundance of presents on holidays and birthdays. V is included in our family's secret santa, and she's already told me that she doesn't care, she's already bought him several things.
Ugh, I know she is loving on her grandson but I really wish she'd resist.
kartish it's from a website or blog. If you google 40 bags, 40 days you can find the sheet to print out. You list 40 areas to declutter. The key is to pick specific and small areas that way you can do one a day. So instead of kitchen - you would do junk drawer, Tupperware cupboard, fridge, etc. so one area will be quick and you feel like you are getting something accomplished. Sometimes I do more than one area a day then take some breaks.
