Always glad to initiate a new member into our ranks. When he's ready for a series, Deep Space Nine is the most story-driven, versus exploration-driven.
Thanks for the tip!
DH and I are watching DS9 now Last year we rewatched TNG. So cheesy, so good.
You could talk about potatoes. I mean, I love carbs so....
Potatoes are the best. They just go with so much other food!
I really want some potatoes right now...form not terribly important.
There's a BBQ place less than a mile from me that makes an amazing loaded baked potato. But the building caught fire a few weeks ago and it's going to be a few months before they open again.

Hiiii Boca!!! I miss you, too! I love reading about/seeing your little ones!
We haven't done any treatment since this past summer, basically. First it was poor timing, what with travel and stuff, then it was "well... you're having cycles rn, so should we just see how that goes?", and most recently it's been, "but we're in so much debt, we really just can't do that right now."
I've convinced him that we'll go try again with my next cycle, though. :) And as far as my body is concerned, I've had 4 (!!!) cycles of normal length in a row, so I'm pretty pleased. It hasn't done this ever since we've been TTC. Yay ovulation! Of course, on the other hand, that means I'm having a much harder time with TWWs and not-being-pregnants more often.
C'est la vie. I'll take that tradeoff; at least I had a chance. :)
Way to go Rama's ovaries!!!! I totally understand where you are coming from. When I started ovulating it was a major celebration (Mr Boca called me "The Ovulator" and cheered lol)... and then months later, still no line, and it was really disheartening.
How is the rest of your life? Work? Mr Rama? Needy things that I don't understand? (Said with much love, of course!)
PS Book suggestion for you and venyia and any other gamers: Wolf in White Van.
The rest of life is just the same drudgery as usual. I wake up, go to work, come home, find something to eat, maybe watch or play something, go to bed. Rinse, repeat. It's not a very interesting life. :( I really wish I could just quit my job and stay home, but we can't afford to lose my income and insurance right now. MrRama is a sweetheart, though. He's already made it abundantly clear that if this job takes a serious toll on my mental health, we will make it work if I need to quit.
As for games, I'm playing Final Fantasy XV and streaming it on Twitch, so there's that. I haven't played in a week, but I think I'll try to convince myself to play tonight.
MrRama is swamped at work because they're merging with another company, essentially doubling their size. It's been hinted at that he might be looking at getting promoted, so we'll see if that ever materializes.
I'm still playing the dating game on my phone and they just came out with new Christmas content! I'd finished each character's main-game story already, so I'm excited for the extra stuff!
Picard is a great captain! Just not the toughest, imo.
So we recently watched the TNG episode where Data experiments with his dream chip, and he has these dreams that are *metaphors* for things happening on the ship. And he has this one dream where Worf is eating a peptide cake with mint frosting, and then the cake is made of real Troy's head with a cake body. So weird, so awesome.

dc2london , hannahbear , steph , Sakinah , bocaburger , annbuhdan , blueinred - thank you so much for your replies to my check in last week! blueinred I have officially suggested counseling to him. I'm already in therapy for anxiety, but I think it could really benefit us to go together.
Quick question for formula-feeders - DD drinks gentle formula, Target brand. That's what my doc suggested because I was initially using formula to supplement breastfeeding. She doesn't breastfeed at all anymore though - she's 100% on formula. I asked my husband to go to Target and pick up some more formula for her and he wasn't even able to get into the parking lot due to CRAZY holiday season traffic and half the parking lot being shut down for repaving (great timing??) He tried to go by Costco, same deal. So he went home and decided to use Amazon Now - but the only formula they have is not a gentle formulation, just regular Similac. Since she isn't breastfeeding anymore and her system is used to formula, do you think it's ok for her to drink a regular formula blend instead of gentle, at least for this one can?

Help! We are traveling and the babies are sleeping in PNPs with very low mattresses. Every time I try to put them down into the PnP they wake up. How do I put them down so low? We have been trying for 2 hours already.

Really slowly is the way I have done it in the past, but it is hard. Sorry! Travel can be rough.
So, M refuses to be put down. It's been 4.5 hours. I don't cosleep and definitely wouldn't feel safe cosleeping in a bed, but I'm thinking of laying down on the floor with him. Suggestions for doing that safely?
bocaburger Re: putting down in pack and play. I always transfer one hand to be cupping the back of her neck/shoulders and keep the other under her diaper. For me the trick is hugging her close to my body as i lower her as far as I can that way (bending at waist). Then I make sure to lower her head first (maybe 1-2 inches ahead of the test of her body). Then as her head is resting in the bed, let her settle if necessary before letting the rest of her down,
I'm sorry your night is so difficult! The night time hours can seem like forever.

Fine to try a different formula. You'll know if she isn't tolerating it - weird poop, gas, lots of spit up, etc. I think many babies are fine taking whatever kind. DS2 has a super sensitive tummy though.

Ugh this stinks. This past weekend we tried using a pnp for a nap and it was a complete fail. I felt like I was dropping him because it was so far down! And I think he sensed the feeling of falling!
Try waiting until they are super super sound asleep? Best of luck!
Good morning. I'm over here rocking a grand total of 3.5 hours of non-consecutive sleep. M is just all smiles this morning. I told him he was on my naughty list and he thought it was hilarious, lol. H doesn't get here until late afternoon and I can't expect my grandma to watch both, so no nap times in my near future. Oy vey.
Oh man, guys. I'm struggling. Stomach virus last week hit me hard for two days but I had a quiet weekend and felt great on Monday morning. By Monday afternoon, my eyes were burning and I was sweating uncontrollably. It's a been a slow slide into a nasty cold since. I can't sleep and my throat hurt so badly that I thought about going to urgent care today for a strep test. Thankfully, my throat got the memo overnight to quit... but the congestion has worsened.
The baby has been sick for two weeks straight, which is mildly stressing me out. My husband is also sick. We're both just going through the motions to meet her needs. I feel terrible that we aren't playing more with her, but damn. Mommy and Daddy aren't doing well. The happiest person is the baby, who's had a cold longer than both of us. So, Mommy and Daddy are weenies.
gratefulgirl tagging you since you've tried all the different "blankets" for sleep. DS seems to sleep better when using the Miracle Blanket as compared to the Halo sleep sake. But the Miracle Blanket is really getting too small. What do you think would be a good next stage swaddle? I think he likes how each arm is wrapped separately but gives him a tight swaddle. Note he has not rolled over yet awake or sleep.

With DD2 (my Miracle Blanket baby) I found that the Zipadee Zip was a little too much freedom immediately after the Miracle Blanket. But she adjusted quickly to the Merlin Magic Sleepsuit. However I found I disliked the Merlin myself for two reasons. 1) DD2 ran super hot and was clearly hot in it. and 2) I don't like things that ultimately restrict my kids' movement. My kids already tend to gross motor delays (DD1 was/is low tone, DD2 was unmotivated, DD3 seems to be following in DD2's footsteps) so I try to be extra careful with giving them as much time to move naturally as they will tolerate. The Zipadee Zip is nice in that it barely restricts movement while still keeping the startle contained.
So far I have made over $40 on used baby sleeping things...at least that's something for all the ones I purchased over the years. The rest went to a friend with a newborn.

I will say that being a short mom plays into my need for my kids to fall asleep from awake in their own sleep spaces early. Once I have to lower that crib mattress I need to be able to put them asleep awake. Funny the little practical things that play into how we parent.
gratefulgirl thanks! I don't know where DS falls in gross motor bc DD was so far ahead. She walked at 10 months. But maybe I'll try both the Zipadee and Merlin. See which one works better.
I feel like I have a newborn again. DS has seriously been sleeping all day. Only waking to eat or if I put him down. I decided to call dr and they said to bring him in. It's probably just a cold but this time last year my DD was like this and had pneumonia. So just want peace of mind. Plus it's day 4 of a low grade fever.
joy I'm right there with you. Baby girl was sick for more than a month with RSV. She got a clean bill of health last Friday, then yesterday started coughing again. I. just. can't.
bocaburger I haven't gotten more than 2 hours consecutive since Saturday night. This is probably the biggest reason why I feel like I am hanging by a thread, not to mention the big fight with my hubs and a seriously bad anxiety flare-up.

gratefulgirl I had GREAT success with the miracle blanket. I'd put her down at 7 pm and she wouldn't wake up until 3 or 4 wanting a bottle! She was such a great sleeper, it's a large part of the reason why I had to stop breastfeeding so soon. I was too tired and lazy to wake up during the night to pump, so it naturally started to diminish until she started refusing the breast and it went away entirely! However, she started busting out of it almost every night and my pediatrician told me to transition to the Merlin suit.
I have done that, but it doesn't seem to help with the startle or keeping her arms more at her sides. She has no problem reaching up and pulling her paci out and waking herself up and scratching herself. The merlin suit was dirty last night so I put her in a regular zip up sleep sack and she had the same kind of night that she has in the merlin. I'M SO FREAKING TIRED and really wanted to swaddle her last night for old time's sake and get more than two hours in a row.

If she isn't rolling try a Woombie. No busting out possible. It'll help her get used to a hair more freedom.
I am surprised she can reach her paci in a Merlin!
