Went to take the family for a walk. Put the dog pack on molly and realize she's covered in shit. I throw her out back because I can't wash her until W's asleep. Put W the stroller because we still need the walk. Make it halfway down my block when my fucking dog trots up. She escaped the backyard! We walk back to the house and she's wandering and I can't grab her because she's covered in shit. And a car passed and they gave me a wtf look and I can't do anything about it. She's now in her kennel. Stinking the whole house up until walt goes down for a nap.

You morning sounds more exciting than mine...but im not trading my boring morning for yours. Lol
Dinner is prepped so will take no time once MH is on his way home. Heading to my mama's tomorrow to make cookies! We are doing ones that her mama made and some that my step-dad's mom made. No way they'll be as good as theirs but I'm excited.
Surgery went well and I'm back home. Lots of pains meds on board but this still hurts quite a bit. I'm hoping to get some sleep tonight.
Bedtime was rough with Abigail since her routine is off and she just wants her mommy. She usually goes down pretty easily but there was a lot of crying tonight so I went back in and spent a long time rocking and singing. I just felt bad for her. It was really nice to get some snuggles with her though.
Oh, and all of the doctors and nurses who looked at my toe today said it looks pretty bad and needs an xray. So I've got to figure out how to make that happen despite having just had surgery. Hopefully I'll be moving well enough to get over to urgent care in a few days. When the anesthesiologist saw my toe he gave me IV pain meds immediately before I even went in for surgery, lol!
I'm getting around at home but moving really slow and having to stop myself from trying to do too much. It's hard to just sit here and see what needs to get done but not be able to jump in and do it. I also really hate having to ask for help.
I actually slept pretty well last night, surprisingly so. It's better than csection recovery in that respect.
Do you have a car while you're visiting your in-laws so you can go out and get some coffee? A 5am wakeup definitely needs some caffeine!
I drink water and daydream of coffee until H gets up. Then he goes out and buys coffee. But today was a fail, he forgot my creamer and it came black. I do not drink black coffee.
I started reading "Bringing Up Bebe" and it's a refreshing perspective on parenting. I haven't gotten very far into it, but I did read the follow-up "Bebe Day By Day" a couple months ago and I'm realizing how much anxiety American society creates around child-rearing.
I also can't remember the last time I felt like I had time to read a book. Bebe Day by Day has super short chapters, just a few pages each, so I was able to read a couple pages before bed each night. But now with down time after surgery, I went to the library and took out some real books!
aydee remember a little mess doesnt hurt anyone. And as soon as you feel better, get that toe looked at!
I think I'm going to try to go get an xray at urgent care tomorrow while the kids are napping and the nanny can stay with them. I have a hematoma right where the bowl hit my toe and the nurse at the surgery center yesterday said it looks like a fracture blister. I had no idea that was even a thing, but when I googled it, it looks exactly like what I have going on. I'm 99% sure this is broken. It looks terrible, though the pain meds for the hernia repair are doing wonders for the pain in my toe which is now pretty minor while I have meds on board. The pain in my tummy though.... yikes. This kind of sucks.
I don't really like it either and have to add tons of sugar and creamer to make it drinkable. I gave it up years ago right before my wedding because I was having terrible acid reflux issues and had to eliminate lots of acidic foods and drinks. I've been considering trying to start drinking it again though because the caffeine in my chai tea just isn't enough to get me through my days. I need more caffeine!
I came home and had lunch to try and not arrive at daycare when M was napping. So of course he fell asleep late and I woke him up. At least he had been asleep almost 2 hours. I'm so excited to be off for four days! No big plans this afternoon. I'm going shopping with a friend for a little while tomorrow morning and then getting a pedicure in the afternoon.
I got my hair cut today. He cut my ear and I'm now I urgent care because H thinks it need stitches. I called to talk to a manager and said I was going to urgent care. She said I would give them the receipt. I asked for her to charge back my card and she argued with me about if I liked the haircut. Which for the record in fucking don't but I just didn't want to tell the guy. Wtf?!

packmomma, OMG that's nutz!! 9 stitches?!? They better have refunded your money and given you free hair cuts for life! All for the principle of it, because clearly you shouldn't go back to that guy. (IMO)

I read Bringing Up Bebe before I was pregnant. I started to re-read if after C was born and then felt bad about myself for failing to get her to "do her nights." I ended up bed sharing which is very un-French.
