sophiegrace That is amazing advice/suggestion! Adeline loves the sound of the bathroom vent and there's an HVAC register that blows warm air in there also and so I've too taken her in there with the lights off and rode it out there (hence the extra RnP that was in my photo earlier lol).
We don't have a white noise machine but this "video"/sound has been my lifesaver and both babies fall asleep almost instantaneously to it whether in the car or middle of night etc:
hangry You are a brave brave woman and I admire you so much for that. I'm already nervous for today's twenty minute drive to ILs for Xmas eve dinner. That's the longest we will have gone in the car with them (and the dog). I am sending positive vibes to you for tomorrow's journey and for O to hang in there.
dashook I was gonna text you to check in but don't want to wake you if you're managing to get some sleep. Like Sophiegrace I was going to ask if it's maybe a leap? Hang in there sweet momma, it's ok to walk away like you did. I've soooooo been there. We're all here too if you need to vent. I admit to having murmured under my breath and called my daughter a "cranky bitch" lol.
kleigh Wow! I'm super jealous. I've barely lost any weight (I apparently hold onto it when breastfeeding) and I still look vaguely pregnant. My pre-Lillian jeans wouldn't even go over my thighs. Pre-Lilah...I can squeeze into a couple bigger pairs, but it's not pretty.
dashook Hugs! That's so rough when they do that. We had a pretty fussy, awake day as well. This too shall pass. I hope you are all sleeping now.
hangry That's amazing that you drove that long with 2. We've driven the 20 minutes to my dad's house. That's it. We are also in the "better get used to it" camp. We drive to see DH's family twice a year usually which is a 2 day trip. It's 16 hours of you drove without stopping so we end up in the car for roughly 20 hours. We'll do it again this summer. I'm not looking forward to essentially 4 days in the car with a 2.5 year old and a 6 month old. Have a safe rest of your trip!
I'm up holding a sleeping baby. She nursed one side. I keep thinking she'll wake up wanting the other, but so far nope. DH and I reversed roles for bedtime. It was nice. I read in Lillian's room while she fell asleep and DH got Lilah to sleep. The baby woke up when I got in bed, but she went back to sleep after a quick snack. Maybe this should become a thing, at least a couple nights a week. I'm going to try to sleep more. I'm giving up on her wanting the other side.
Thank you all so much for the kind words, I needed them! I think I have been spoiled by D to this point and she just caught me on an off night. DS has been really trying my patience this week (the past two days especially) and I just really, really wanted a cold beer amd then my bed lol
Our night did get better. After yet another wakeup she accepted a boob and finally fell asleep for a 6.5+ hour stretch. I fit in 6. I am still feeling tired--just kind of drained--but no longer angry. I feel so awful afterwards when I get angry at a baby; like how ridiculous right? But in the moment it doesn't feel that way.
Hope you all got some good sleep in tonight. Merry Christmas Eve!!
waitwhat I think D has nursed more than one side maybe twice, max three times, in the 5 weeks she has been here. She's content after one side so I am too!
Also I have been taking DS to do something just the two of us every day this week, even if just a few minutes (run to post office or bundle up and take a walk outside), and it's made a huge difference in his behavior. Well, that, and the fact that two of his 2-year molars finally completed their journey up and out this week.
waitwhat I was just coming on here to complain about E only eating on one side all the time. It means I actually have to remember which side she last ate from. Last night I did a poor job and just woke up with a totally engorged, rock hard left boob. Also, I was saying hello to you all through I-90 yesterday I'll say hello to dashook and cheshie6 as I finish up today.

C had a long night yesterday and was overly tired when we got home. It didn't take much to get him to sleep and he slept until 3:30. H got up with him. An hour later I hear H get back into bed and C is still up making noise in the PnP. H says he won't fall asleep but he couldn't stay up any longer. I grabbed him and he falls asleep pretty quick for me but it only lasts for 30 minutes at a time. So I've been up on and off since. I tired and hungry and managed to spill a 2oz bottle all over my pants and carpet.
But much as it sucks, I heard C giggle in his sleep and it's the cutest thing in the world! Funny how we were just talking about that.

I love the addition of the heartbeat to the white noise sound kleigh! Where do I find this magic video? It won't let me save it from tapatalk. There used to be an extra RnP in my bathroom as well, but this silly girl prefers my five year old 2 for $12.99 memory foam bath mats from Sams Club.....
waitwhat, team one side over here since day one. And this little meatball is not hurting for food.
