Morning and Merry Christmas Eve! And happy Hanukkah as it starts today too I believe.
Mr C was super clingy to me yesterday and my in laws got here yesterday but nope only I could keep him calm. He also regressed a bit last night so I am thinking growth spurt or something. *Yawn* Whatever it is he I am a -ok with him snuggling with other people today.
It's rainy right now and I don't think we have any real plans today other than tamales for a late lunch and church this evening. Just enjoying the day.
D is up and nursing. DS just woke up and is crying to be picked up and H is sleeping through it of course. Sounds about right for Saturday morning at Dashook's house.
No idea what we're doing this morning but in the afternoon we will be watching the Pats, lighting Chanukah candles once it's dark, and then going to my ILs' house for Christmas Eve dinner. Busy day!
I hope D gets enough naps today. The holidays are tough if you're trying not to overstimulate a newborn! I could swear she looks bigger and more alert this morning than she did last night.
Morning! We all just woke up a few minutes after 8 when C roused herself for the day.
No big plans for most of today; we have a party at my aunt's tonight and may try and do church at 4. I never made it to the nail salon yesterday--traffic was insane--so I'm going as soon as they open this am.
Fil is currently whining our house is too warm. Umm dude we have a SEVEN WEEK OLD shut your mouth.
He also told my daughter last night ' to eat your peas so you can grow up to be pretty' there are a lot of thing I aspire for my daughter being pretty isn't one of them. ::Eyeroll::

IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE!!!!! I love Christmas, but this year I'm even more excited knowing how much better Christmas is going to get over the next few years. I can't wait to share the magic with M.
We're keeping it low key this year. H is at the grocery store and M and I are still snuggling in bed. Every xmas eve since we moved here we've gone to our favorite restaurant for a good meal and some wine, it's usually dead there so we might try it tonight.

After I posted, I had to decide if I was going to get up for the day or try to get a couple more hours of sleep. So we went back to sleep. C is starting to wake up again so I should probably get up and get myself ready before he cries.
H went out to breakfast and lunch with his buddies. No, not like a brunch. He went to breakfast with one group of friends at 8 then is meeting up with another group of friends at 11 for lunch. After he gets home, we're going to my parents house for the day to have dinner and presents and hang out. It's always nice when all my siblings are home.

Happy Christmas Eve! I'm sitting by the fire with N while my mom entertains J. My sister and kids are coming over soon, so chaos will commence. We may try the children's church service at 3 if naps work out and it stops raining. Then big dinner later...And toy kitchen and bike assembly after bedtime.
Anyone have trouble keeping a baby awake? I need to feed L and even without clothes, a wet cloth, playing with feet! But at night, he won't sleep... grr. L slept from 1:30 till when I woke him at 5:30, then from 6:30-10:30... but we haven't gotten permission to let him sleep that long so I'm trying not to worry
I was going to go to CVS earlier to return something, pick up a few new nail polish colors with a coupon I have, and grab some candy Santas for H's stocking. Well, he insisted on coming with me so no candy for him lol. Also I didn't get nail polish. Idk why but for some reason it feels like something I don't want to do in front of him. Weird right?
D has been sleeping almost all morning after her wretched evening and I'm happy to let her. I'm actually enjoying a few minutes of blessed quiet right this moment as H is at the store with DS. I'm using it to drink wine and straighten up the kitchen.
cheshie6 C has had some very sleepy periods, esp in those early days. Even yesterday, at 6 weeks old, she slept much of the day. I nursed her at 11 and the next time she ate was at 4...DH tried to give her a bottle in there somewhere but she fell back asleep while he was fixing it!

So no big deal? With his weight being monitored, I don't want to let him go too long without eating.

Merry Christmas Eve/start of Hanukkah! Unfortunately DS1 still has a terrible cough and fever so our holiday plans are on hold for the moment. Just going to have a quiet night at home with our family and if he's better tomorrow then we'll travel to my in-laws. Hope everyone has a great holiday!

cheshie6 when he's not sleeping at night is he cluster feeding a whole bunch? Or eating for longer periods than he does during the day at least? I don't want to give bad advice but it does sounds frustrating to have to wake him. Are they still concerned even though he gained 12 oz? I thought for sure they'd relax after that.
That's funny dashook because I don't like shopping for that stuff around H either. I could never figure out why, it's not like he doesn't see it all sitting in my bathroom.
Still hoping your big is feeling better for Christmas shedreamsincolor. That sounds miserable for the entire family.
shedreamsincolor, so sorry DS1 is still sick. Hope the Poor little guy feels better and can enjoy Christmas! cheshie6, so obviously I am not a pediatrician or medical professional or anything like that, and all I know about L's weight situation is what you've shared in these threads. So this is just my personal opinion, which potentially is worth nothing. But if it were me, I'd let him sleep at this point, at least at night, and feed him when he demands it. Maybe I'm selfish, but if I'd been dealing with what you have for 3+ weeks and my baby had reattained his birth weight, I'd be all over that.

Hi and Merry Christmas Eve!
I've been around loving titting everything but can't seem to actually get anything posted. This past week has been filled with baking, present wrapping, tantrums, crying and lots of spit up. But I'm so excited it's Christmas! We're currently on our way to the IL's to spend the day with them. Then tomorrow we'll do Christmas morning at our house and then head out to my parents' place. I love this time of year!
We made it here! It's just my parents for now, but my sister and her family (3 kids ages 10,8, and 6) will be here shortly. And then my other sister with kids ages 7,5, and 2 will be here tomorrow. Enjoying the relative quiet before chaos begins.
sophiegrace, they just want to make sure he's gaining while breastfeeding or if I need supplementing permanently! But yes, he just wants to eat at night and then sleep on me!

Happy Holidays!
I hope I don't jinx it by saving that I think we are turning the corner towards longer stretches of sleep! He's sleept in 4+ hour stretches for 3 nights! Not in a row but I'll take it! I thought the first time was a fluke. I've also been better about getting him in bed around 10:30. Tonight is going to be a wash though because we are going to the ILs who live 45 mins away. I just asked H if we can leave at a reasonable hour so I'm not super tired for tomorrow.
waitwhat if by "show up" you mean get completely embarrassed and destroyed, then yes, the Jets showed up 😈. They began the 4th quarter with 4 completions, 4 interceptions, and 4 punts.

It's time to leave to go to DH's parents' house but he's falling asleep on the couch. Seriously dude? Tell me again how tired you are after sleeping from 12-8 last night (in addition to at least 7-8 consecutive hours every other night this week).ðŸ˜

I'd be happy to send my DS to you. He has s startlingly realistic siren that came with a fireman costume, and he loves nothing more than to aim it right at someone's ear.

I've been so bad at keeping up lately, but I'm glad to see that everyone in this thread at least seems to be doing well. The kids were home all last week, but H took off as well (he saved some leave by going back to work soonish after LO was born), so we managed to get out of the house every day which kept stir-craziness to a minimum. We bought a new really nice camera, and we're trying to decide if we want to keep it or return it, but in the meantime H is taking tons of pictures, and for once, I actually look like I'm part of the family instead of always being the one behind the lens.
Some pictures of the kids in their matching Christmas Eve outfits and jammies:
