blueinred that sounds like such a nice way to spend Hanukkah together!
I have clear instructions and even pre-poured each bottle and said "all the bottles for the night are in the fridge." But the ILs made more. They just don't want him to be fussy, and I get it. But, uh, whoah.

Sakinah what a dolly!! He's so happy to be in the bathroom with you!
hannahbear 10oz!! Wow that's a lot. I feel like DD is pretty greedy and she can't take more than 5oz without spitting up. Hope you get them back on track with him!

I bought replacement parts for my pump. I EP'd with B and never replaced them but felt like the suction lately hasn't been great. Holy smokes what a huge difference!!
Which pump are you using again? I think it's time for me to replace my parts also. I'm not getting as much output as before and I'm not certain if it's me or the pump.
It is also common for oversupply to start regulating now (in case others are also wondering).

Hey people! Just popping in. I can't believe our LO's are so big already!
gratefulgirl, - good luck! And here I am, nervous about flying with ONE. You're a rockstar.
steph - I know you're supposed to replace the membranes regularly, but what other stuff could affect the suction? I have three different sets of stuff that I rotate through, but I can't tell much of a difference in the suction (except that I respond better to the larger flanges I have).
Last night, I was getting the baby dressed for bed and she was being a fuuuuuuuuuuuuss buuuuuuuuuuuuuuucket. My husband got home during her frustration, swooped in, picked her up and got her calmed down.
The three of us were standing in her room all staring at each other... When Baby Girl started to laugh. This made my husband laugh. Which made her laugh more. Which made me laugh. Which made Baby Girl laugh even more.
Round and round. For at least five minutes. It was hilarious.
Don't worry - she cried her face off as soon as we got her in her Merlin Suit.

joy - awww! My DS is SO STINGY with his laughs. He's laughed about.... 5 times, ever? We try SO HARD to make him laugh but when something actually works, that is the one and only time it works. Guess he's a tough crowd. He smiles like "Good try, guys." but that's it.
gratefulgirl Hope the flight went well. I get stressed with just one on a plane. Her happy shrieking is not very popular.
It will be nice to be home. It's frustrating having the "bad" kid. My sister and BIL obviously think they are better parents and their kid is smarter because he sleeps better, is ahead in some motor skills and is calmer and much quieter. Is it bad I hope their next kid is a bad sleeper?
gratefulgirl I thought maybe that's what was happening but I felt like I could turn the suction all the way up and it wasn't doing much. I had it on the max setting (I think it's an 8) and now the 4 is stronger than that! I was like WHOA THERE when it switched out of letdown mode Hahahaha

So sorry. My mom always said every kid has his or her good phase. I was an angel teenager, so in the end she had it good. May you too.
Also studies show sleeplessness in baby girls is a sign of academic giftedness.
Feeling very bummed out after DS 4 month appointment tonight. I knew his weight gain wasn't much and knew it'd be brought up. But on Thursday they didn't address it so didn't know how bad it was. He gained less than a half pound in 2 months. He appears fine but they think he's getting just what he needs to not be hungry. I called a LC who gave suggestions to increase my pumping to hopefully give more ounces at daycare. Dr also suggested starting baby cereal early..but DS shows no readiness signs and will spit it out. So I'll try to say I tried but I'm not hopefully it'll work. Adding formula won't work as DS won't take a bottle unless I'm not around. I'm going to try to increase my water intake and oatmeal. Maybe try bars.

It looks like I now have whatever MH had over the weekend. Fever and nausea, hoping not to puke. Trying to stay hydrated so my supply doesn't take a hit. So far DD seems fine and has no fever.

Can't remember who to tag about pumping output, sorry!
Anyway, when storing my PISA I would bend down the two tubes where they attach to the faceplate of the pump. They ended up with permanent kinks where they attached. One time, H tried snipping off the bent portion, and the suction was immediately better for me. It could be worth a try!
remylove1011 I hope you feel better soon. Definitely try to keep up with your fluids. Maybe a little broth will help too?
hannahbear I'm soooo sorry about the overfeeding. I recently had the same issue and I thought I was over it until I read your post. Poor LO. I hope his little belly didn't get too upset!
Turns out my output situation was a "me" issue. I assumed my supply had regulated a month or so ago when I decreased 3oz in output. The past week, however, I decreased 6 more oz. I realized my diet has been garbage (I forgot to eat Monday and only snacked Tuesday) and I've had not nearly enough water.
I had a gallon of water yesterday and another gallon today and my pump session was back to normal this evening.
meagpt22 sorry about the weight gain issues. I have no advice other than what you already mentioned, but is LO distracted while nursing or has he always been a snacker?
My LO also nurses just long enough to take the edge off (sometime less than 2 minutes) then he hears something across the room that he MUST sit up and talk to. I can never get a full feed into him unless there is complete silence and nothing interesting for him to see.
Sakinah oh he nurses like a champ! He is oblivious to things around him when eating haha. They're thinking the issue is related to how much (or little) he gets at daycare. So my pumping output. The long stretches at night don't help either. I just assumed I pumped 12 ounces so that must be what he takes and needs. But nope he probably needs 15-18 ounces. I just feel bad for not recognizing it sooner. Now I'm stressing about his crappy weight gain. Which doesn't help.
On a side note: I replaced the membranes and felt a difference immediately with the suction.

Ooohhhhh I get it now! I know it's easier said than done, but try not to stress about it. You may not have known there was a problem at first, but now that you do you are doing everything you can to fix it. He's clearly happy and healthy otherwise for you not to notice
And please get your DS to talk to my LO about being such a focused nurser. I miss those days lol

This is DD3 also. DD2 could easily go 3 hours between feeds at this age. DD3 has to be stuffed every 2 hours or less to get enough because it is never dark and quiet across the room with 2 big sisters in the house.
