This probably falls into the UO category but I think that the birthstone for January is one of if not the ugliest birthstones... I have always thought this since it's also my birthstone.
Nope I'm pretty sure November is. And depending on where you get the stone from it looks brownish or a dark pee color. I'm not a fan!

Agreed. It's my stone, too, and I've never been a fan. Apparently LO agrees since she decided to come in December instead. That or she just likes options, since December has a couple.

Sunday confession...baby pooped on our comforter at 4am and H wiped it off with a wipe and we went back to sleep and dealt with it later. Sleep is more important!

I'd have done the same. Or just covered it with a towel. For some reason I'm not that bothered by baby poop or pee.

I agree about November that's my birthstone and I hate it. Always have.
Why does ds only seem to poop at night when I'm the groggiest? Then we're up for at least an hour. This morning he made it better by adorably chuckling in his sleep.

I need some serious help with getting LO to sleep anywhere besides mommy's arms. The first week he slept in his PNP but then we went through a cluster session and I haven't been able to get him to sleep in it since. I swaddle him before our last feed of the day and then wait until he's nice and asleep before setting him in it. I even leave my hand on him for a few minutes so he doesn't startle awake. He lasts about 15mins grumbling and groaning the entire time before he starts crying. We've also tried the swing, which he naps in great during the day but hates during the night.
Heeeelllllllpppppp!!!!
Also brownies for anyone that made it through that. Sorry for the long post.
LO slept from 9:30-2:30 and then until 6 I will take it! This on the night the DH has to work so he can't help with any of the feedings. I was even out of coffee this morning and not horribly sad, just missed having it bc it is more of a habit.

Sorry, that can be really hard for you to get a goods night rest. The only thing I can say is keep trying and eventually he will hopefully get the idea. Otherwise he might like being at an incline, is there somewhere you can put him on one?
Perhaps TMI: DH lucked out last night. We had some friends over, along with SIL and her hubby and stayed up playing settlers of Catan. I didn't get DH a present, but planned on him getting "orally lucky" last night. He did not pick up on my hints, he mixed beer and wine, and got drunk and passed out on his keyboard. Maybe if he plays his cards right, he will get his present this evening. Dude needs to realize he's not 21 anymore.

nemomof2 that's why I was hoping the swing may be the answer bc he sleeps in it so well during the day. I have no idea why he doesn't like it during the night though. Thanks for the input.

Is there anyone else who can try putting him down? It's not a long-term solution, probably, but it might get you some sleep in the short term. My LO goes down much better for DH than for me.

Could you try the heating pad trick? Put a heating pad on the sleep surface for a bit before baby goes down, making sure to remove the heating pad before putting baby on the surface- it'll help warm the sleep area. It works for some babies
hollydfromtn Have you tried using a pacifier? Sometimes if my LO wakes up after putting her down I give her the pacifier and she usually falls back asleep within about 15 minutes.

My mom asked if she could babysit Aylah tonight haha. So I guess that means date night for us! We're gonna eat some sushi and then hit up the sports bar to shoot pool

I have November and January babies, and yeah, not the prettiest birthstones. DS1 was due Dec 5th, so DH had already bought me a necklace with the December birthstone (blue topaz). Then he was born November 30th, but we decided to just keep the blue topaz necklace because yellow topaz is ugly. For DS2, garnet can have a lot of color variation, so I got one that was a deeper red rather than the more brownish ones.

tkr7c9 he will sleep as long as the pacifier stays in his mouth but as soon as he spits it out it's a matter of minutes before he's awake again. I spent an hour last night putting it back in and rocking him a little without picking him up until he fell back asleep. It would last about 10 mins each time. I'm really at a loss of what else to try :/

We had this problem with the pacifier falling out and he would wake up. Finally found a pacifier he can hold in his mouth and now he goes right to sleep most times. At the very least for his first night time stretch. Sometimes the motn feed he doesn't go back to sleep as well but that's a whole other issue!
