I didn't mean for this to sound nonchalant. It scares the shit out of me every.single.fucking.time it happens. Even worse this week because there's been an increase in frequency.
I am doing the best I can with this right now. I don't understand why this is suddenly happening, and I don't have any answers...yet. It's easy for those of you who have said "take a day off work" or "get more sleep", etc, but it's not possible right now.

In other news, my box of books that was shipped to California was finally delivered today, so at least I have something to look forward to when I get home tonight.
musicfrk2002 your post sounded more like a cry for help instead of a "random". Hence the reactions and probably why @jemomma considered it nonchalant. It's a scary thing to just throw out there. It's akin to admitting you're driving drunk, you can't fault anyone for having strong feels on the topic. I hope you can get control of it before your next commute.
What about using altoids or another strong candy to suck on to help keep you alert? Bring some new music you haven't listened to in awhile. Pack a cool snack like celery stalks or cucumbers. Find a friend or family member to chat with on the phone. Figure something out before tomorrow.
@musicfr2002, had you come in and said, "I think my bp meds are screwing with me and making me really sleepy while I'm driving. I've already messaged my Dr about this, but does anyone have any ideas/suggestions for me cause this is freaking me the eff out!" It would have been better received than your first post.
I think the others were seriously worried about your nbd attitude about it.
I really hope you get some guidance from your Dr on this.
musicfrk2002, when are you taking your BP meds? Did they change the type or dosage? Maybe take it when you get home, until you have an answer from your doc. Or add a vitamin C when you take it to limit the drowsiness. I do that personally and that works fine.
Right now I'm taking them when I get to work around noon. They upped my dosage from 5mg to 10mg. Hadn't heard about adding vitamin c so I will put that on my list of things to try. Right now I've dropped back down to 5mg to see if that will help things.
**yes, I realize I am not a medical professional in any way, and probably not qualified in the eyes of anyone here to adjust my meds on my own, but the dosage was changed in order to see if I could tolerate a higher dose. Drowsiness is a side effect of this medicine.

Will add some type of candy/mints to my shopping list to try. Thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks. I will try rewording things. I've never been good with words.

So this has happened more often then the three times this week? Do you understand how crazy this sounds? I have never fallen asleep while driving and the thought that someone else on the road is knowingly doing this again and again terrifies me. You should have your license revoked.
Let me put it to you this way. Would you be ok with you and your son being forced to get in the car with someone who you knew would fall asleep at the wheel? This is what you are doing every time you drive but to everyone else on the road. Other people's families. Babies. this is not ok. Taking vitamin C to solve this problem is not ok. Stop driving. Period.

Thanks for your opinion, @poppyc8. Unfortunately, not driving is not an option right now.

. Fuck off The irony here is that you are taking a blood pressure med to save just your own life while at the same time risking others lives every day you drive. Do you see how selfish this act is?

Again, you don't know my situation, so please kindly back off.
