Lurker finally popping in for help. I'm due with our 3rd in February and we're team green again. DH and I are very different in our naming styles. Me being more classic names. Him more modern/made up names. He named our first and I named our second. I like their names because they are on my children, but in a do over #1 would probably have a different FN. We have Ken.zie Jacq.ueline, and Elo.ise Eve.lyn. the middle names are family names.
This time we have our boy name which is my boy pick from our first; Re.id Clay.ton (middle name is a family name again) but coming up with another girl name is a battle. Here is a mishmash list of our current names. You will probably guess who's picks are who's. We need help, if this is another girl we're at a loss. Middle name not picked yet, I want to use Una (family name) but he does not.
Deidre Clare Madeline Laurel Isobel Siena Bellamy Aya Austen
One of my absolute favorite people in the world ever is a girl named Austen. That said, take it off the list. And take Bellamy far, far away. Madeline and Isobel are the best. Suggestions:

I hope you get to use Una, that's a great name. Agree with tossing Bellamy, Aya, and Austen. Personally I'm not a fan of Claire and I like it even less spelled Claire.

So from the comments I got him to drop his list. In exchange I agreed to drop Clare and backing off on Madeline for now because he says it's too popular and I'm afraid he'll try to make it speshul by adding Ys like Madylyne or something rediculous.
Now we might narrow down the first name by the middle name. We're set on using a family name as a middle name. So with the remaining Deidre, Laurel and Isobel (and Madeline if I can make him love it). These are the family names we have to work with. I feel like this is driving our list too....Una, Cynthia, Nancy, Ethel, Clina, Althea, Muriel, Betty (but this is also my MN).
Here are the male names too if you see anyway to add a feminine twist to them. I was trying to play with this last night because the female family names left are quite old fashioned and out of his comfort zone: Richard, Paul, Clayton, Charles, Alan, Walter, Clarence (where I tried to tie in Clare).
From Paul you can get Paula, Pauline, Paulina. From Charles: Carla, Charlotte, Charline, Carole, Caroline, and Carolina/Karolina. The only one I know from Alan would be Alana. Clare would work for Clarence, but I think you could also get Ren/Wren from it too (which works well in the middle). Pity you can't use Una.
If you are still open to idea (if not, ignore): Ada/Adeline/Adelina Magdalene/Magdalena Zinnia Ivy Linnea Cassandra Bridget Juliet/Julie Viveca Cecilia Heidi

ottertails, I'm totally still open to suggestions. I have a secondary list running of suggestions from here that I'm trying to get him to look at and consider. Mainly because I still really want to use Una
I like both Laurel and Isobel (though I think you'll have to deal with a lot of misspellings of this- may not be a dealbreaker?) and either would work well with Charlotte. I love the sound of Laurel Clare.
Would it be too much of a deviation from the family name to use Luna somewhere? Maybe that'd be more palatable to your husband?
