Holy shit this is getting real. I feel so far behind and that I need to get my act together. Does anyone have a checklist they are using or that they have used?

Ohhh I'm basically useless then. Lol. @osw team Tricare where everything just gets assigned to you. Hopefully someone will come in and be more helpful.
Lol this is a hard question. Here's some random crap I did before Delaney came along, maybe it will help?
-make sure baby has a place to sleep and all necessary things for the nursery (crib, monitor, glider, diapers, etc) -prep all cloth diapers (or make sure you have enough disposables if you are going that route) -wash all small clothes so you don't have to do laundry for the first week or so -figure out who you want in the hospital room with you -I didn't do a birth plan, but that's important to some people -take a tour of the hospital/birthing center you plan to deliver at -pack a bag for the hospital or at least decide what you want to put in said bag (this could use a list of its own at some point) -purchase (if you didn't already) and install car seat in your car (once it gets closer to time) -decide on a pediatrician/doctors office and make sure they are accepting new patients -book a newborn photographer if that's something you want to do -tell all visitors to have their whooping cough and flu shots before baby is born (at least that was important to me) -if you are breastfeeding, get a pump and wash all parts -if you are going the bottle route, have a few different brands for baby to try
I'll try to think of more later, but hopefully that helps a little!
- get nursery set up. We planned on using ours from the get go (and did)
- baby proof. It isn't necessary to do until baby becomes mobile but we did it early to get accustomed to having to deal with barriers and such
-pick pediatrician. With DS1, we went with the practice that had nursery privileges at the hospital I delivered at. This time around, we just sticking with the pedi we chose when we moved to the area for DS1
- finish registry for bottles and swaddles. Note: don't bother buying receiving blankets or the carter's brand ones sold at baby stores. Splurge and buy actual 44x44 or bigger swaddles or the Velcro ones.
-make sure everyone is up to date, especially flu shots, at least 2 weeks prior to EDD
- pack hospital bag
-set up PNP in bedroom (because we saw no need to buy a second crib when a PNP works just as good)
-wash baby clothes
-install car seat in DH's car at 35w I did a hospital tour with DS1 but didn't get much out of it and instead got a shaming by the department head because I didn't want to breastfeed and made it clear I didn't intend to do so.
This time around, it's:
-secure daycare (done, we've been on the list since September because it fills fast) -prep nursery (80ish % done) -prep diapers (done) -wash baby clothes and bedding -install car seat -pack bags
-nail down daycare if needed -baby clothes, diapers, wipes, formula samples if not breast feeding are stocked -Hospital bag packed -car seat(s) installed -back up cars or prep for older kids if you have any
- Try to get a little milk frozen (but the toddler nurses constantly and I think my supply is low at this point so who knows if it will happen) - Finish nursery: paint, put up mobile and mirror (we use a floor bed so nursery is pretty minimal) - Buy baby gear: carseat (went straight to a convertible last time, will do so again this time so we need a second right away), car seat mirror, baby gate (to keep dog out of nursery), newborn diapers, water wipes, bottles, pacifiers, white noise machine, audio monitor, dropcam - Wash newborn clothes, rock and play fabric, bouncer fabric - Go through H's company's baby bonding leave checklist - Tell doggie daycare we’ll need an unscheduled boarding stay - Pack bags: dog, toddler, labor bag and postpartum bag - Buy postpartum care supplies - Buy and organize nonperishable staples (food and nonfood) - Make hosptial playlist (I didn't watch any tv in the hospital last time but played a nice long playlist of my fave music basically 24/7 while I was there, I found it very soothing during such a weird hard time) - Install car seat at 35 weeks - Make and freeze lactation cookies - Taxes (not directly related but for sure want them done before baby!)
Also, now is a good time to sign up for formula samples. Even if you plan on EBF, it doesn't hurt to have some on hand if you need it and you can always donate that and the coupons to people who need them. There's always ISOs on local swap pages for unopened cans or coupons (that shit is expensive without...)
In Process: - Touching up the paint on nursery floor (we have painted wood floors...not ideal but it's too much of a can of worms to replace atm) I just touched some spots up, but I can't move furniture on those areas for a week.
- Just did an inventory (again) of my cloth diaper stash. They've all been washed and tonight I stuffed them (almost all of them are pocket diapers). I also sorted them from NB to OS.
Need to Do: - Assemble crib...I want to put sheets on it but then it will just be sitting collecting dust. I'll probably still put sheets on it and just replace them as we get closer. - Put legs on one of the furniture pieces - Move chair into nursery
Need to Buy: - I'm going to wait until after my baby shower (yay!) in about a month to make many more purchases... I think as far as the absolute basics go though we are set. From here on out it's just bonus stuff.
Adulty things: - I'll have to start looking into pediatricians at some point, but I'm waiting for my OB to formally tell me to do so. - Make sure I have my ducks in a row in regards to insurance and how baby is covered once he is born (anyone have any idea how this usually works when you are already covered?) - Taxes! I'll be limited by when I receive my forms from my 2nd job. Sometimes they are a little later on sending them out. - Work-wise, I have to make some solid sub plans for whoever steps in for my maternity leave. That alone is a big task... Ugh
mosdub in general, you would call the benefits center of whichever one of you carriers the insurance. You tell them you have a qualifying event and need to add the baby. You *should* have 30 days after birth, and it should backdate to DOB. What documentation they need depends on the benefits center. With DS1, it was simply a phone call and giving DOB. This time, I need to submit a copy of his footprints from the hospital and a special form. I have about 2 months to get them the social security card and birth certificate
You'll also need to ask the insurance company directly about any pre-authorizations they will need for your delivery hospital stay. Some give 48 hours notice after admittance to get approval, my current one requires that we call in route to the hospital. Obviously, you can just go, but a lot of policies have a hefty fee you'll be slammed with for not having prior authorization
hpnegirl thank you so much for that info. I wouldn't have known about the pre-authorization thing. That's kind of asinine, but insurance companies gonna do what insurance companies gonna do.

Got to love insurance companies. I know some plans will waive the pre-authorization bull crap if it's solely for the purpose of having a baby but it depends on the fine print.
I'd call both them and your benefits center sometime in the next month or two just to have ducks in a row. I'm actually putting together a check list for my H's to do list to have for when it's go time
