ourcrazynavylife matching outfits, too cute! Sorry yh and mom ganged up on you. It needs to stay between you & yh. And yh can't keep going back on his word! My h tried that with Alex after agreeing. I refused to budge.
I'm sitting here, 1am my time on LO's 2nd Birthday, with a VERY congested and feverish little girl. My H is working and she can't get comfortable enough to sleep. It's going to be a long night and a pretty low key Birthday. Can't believe she's 2 tho. It both flew by and took forever, all at the same time!

Hi friends! I am getting so bad at checking in. DH and I are off social media currently. He completely deactivated his accounts, but I just deleted the apps. I took off tapatalk too, but I just installed it again on my tablet so I could upload a pic. I'm going to try to just use it for uploading pics though. We've just been so distracted lately. We made the mistake of watching the minimalists documentary on Netflix 2 days before Christmas and are purging lots of things. We aren't getting rid of much baby stuff, but lots of things we either don't use often or just don't really like that much. It's been really cleansing. We are also selling some of our furniture since it's bulky and hand-me-downs that we don't really like anyways. Our house is around 1500 square feet so we are having to move things out/get rid of stuff for when the new baby comes.
I got a nasty sinus infection so I got some antibiotics the other day. I'm feeling a little bit better, but my sinuses are still raging so it's making things difficult. I've been letting DS watch a lot more cartoons than normal. I have my 20 week A/S today, but since we are team green we are just checking out how baby is doing.
We also just moved DS into his own room/bed 2 days ago!! We got him a twin bed from wayfair. We've been bedsharing since like forever. He only woke up once last night so he's doing really good. I'm hoping this continues.

I'm just going to go on a selfish vent that isn't child-related, so feel free to just keep on scrollin...
I found out my law license is transferable to CO like now. I can apply for reciprocity and not have to take the CO bar exam. Application period is 3-6 months, which means I could be licensed by the end of the summer and ready to move up there and get a job - as a lawyer. Nursing school up there is an option but I'd need to complete even more pre-reqs (bc some of mine are 10+ years old and would need to be retaken) plus health care experience. All things I'd have to do while still working FT at a new job where there will without a doubt be a huge learning curve, which means more hours at work and less available for school and family. Plus I've heard the accelerated BSN program at CU is really hard to get into. So, there's that. I'd like to switch careers but another part of me thinks part (or most) of why I want to switch is because I'm not happen in my current position, and if I did another area of law or switched work environments then maybe I'd like it better. I just want to move. Like now. I don't want to wait 2.5 years to finish nursing school here and then move. But I'm struggling with abandoning the nursing school plan bc I want to do it and I feel like a turd saying I'm going to do one thing and then bailing on the idea. But I also did spend a stupid amount of money to get my law degree, so maybe I shouldn't bail on that so quickly either.
TL;DR I can't decide if I'd rather move sooner or be a nurse. Wah wah wah
laceysbryan I will say that as a nurse, bedside nursing is pretty rough now. Things have changed a lot in healthcare over the last several years and it's definitely not the same job I started in ten years ago. That said, nursing can be pretty amazing when you find the right job.
As for wanting to move, would you be able to scale back your hours or just take your pre-reqs slowly in evening classes? It really sounds like CO is where your heart is. And that is worth a lot! I hope you can figure it out. It's a tough call!

laceysbryan that's really tough. But I honestly think I would choose to transfer the license and move. If it doesn't work out then nursing school will still be there.
Y'all. This day. My poor LO was up til 5am, febrile, coughing, and crying. We managed to do a little celebrating and then her older brother had to go and probably break his hand. I'm sitting in the ortho after hours clinic to get the final word. 2017, I am not super impressed so far.
laceysbryan that's life for you, always throwing a curve ball. I'd also go with moving to a place I loved if I'd be ok holding off school and giving a new career a shot. GL making that tough choice.
kcrus happy birthday to your LO! But I think she deserves a do over. hope your sons' hand heals quickly.

ourcrazynavylife I love that name! I had a very dear friend in college that passed away that was named Gregory and I've always thought about using it. kcrus Sorry mama. Hope that hand isn't broken. Thanks for the nursing words of wisdom. Hope your birthday girl is feeling better. littlelion My LO has been driving me nuts after work to go outside. No dude - it's 20 degrees. We're staying in. Toddlers!!! raven Grosssssssssss!! I hate mice!! And GL house hunting! We literally drove around for HOURS when we were up there - Arvada, golden, Broomfield, wheat ridge, Stapleton... We're def going to need a realtor if we're going to make this a reality. ashlantic Hope you're feeling better today! BabyStandish Congrats on moving LO into a big boy bed!! Exciting stuff!
Finally feeling better! Just busy now that dh is back to work. It's been crazy cold again, so we've been staying in and playing with all of lo's Christmas toys.
dashook hope sleep gets better for you! ourcrazynavylife poor tired girl! Love the name you picked. Glad it's all settled! raven yay for cleaning out toys, but oh no for mice! littlelion lo got that duplo set too! He loves it. We've been having dance parties to burn some energy here. Lo loves turning the stereo on so we turn it up and dance. kcrus oh no, mama. Happy birthday to your lo, but I hope things get better soon. BabyStandish I put a minimalist/decluttering book on hold at the library. I'm so bad at hanging on to too much shit because I'm sentimental or feel obligated to keep things. I'm excited to dive in and hope this book helps. I'm so tired of the clutter. Hope you feel better soon! laceysbryan I think kcrus gave good advice. I say follow your heart- if moving to CO is what you really want then go for it.

We're giving potty training a go this weekend. Em got lots of big girl panties for her birthday and we ordered some potty books. Got the potty placed in the bathroom.
Looks like F might have HFM one of her friends broke out in a rash the other day after we had two play dates in a row, so I've been anxiously waiting. Today she has bumps on her face and the back of her knees. Brutal timing since I just had two weeks off and head back to work Monday. Really can't afford to take days off with exam review and semester wrap up. Fingers crossed it's short lived.
laceysbryan I say go for the move since it seems like something you really want to do, also maybe a change in work environment will make you like law again. It seems like you went into it for a reason, if a little later you still don't like it go back to school like others have suggested. kcrus shit lady, sorry it happens to you. ourcrazynavylife good luck! megpie5 hope it's not HFM and if it is she gets over it quickly.
That's awesome! I had planned on tackling potty training over Xmas break but we had so many plans that got in the way. F has been periodically using it since August, but nothing regular. Now that she might have HFM and we're stuck at home all weekend I might give it a shot. Are you using a particular method for Em?
kcrus oh no! That sucks. ourcrazynavylife way to go Em! Good luck with the potty training. I'm not looking forward to that. I think it's a way off for us. Lo is showing zero interest. megpie5 poor thing, hope she gets over it quickly. littlelion AGREED. Between that and molars and sickness it's been a looong time since lo hasn't woken up motn. Hugs and coffee to you.
Finally got together with our friends yesterday for dinner. We ended up having to reschedule a bunch of times because they were sick and then we were all sick. It was a lot of fun. Between 3 families we have 5 boys ranging from 1.5 months old to almost 5. It's looking like lo's party is going to be small this year. That's what we get for planning it last minute. But hey, less food to make and prep, so that's a win?

megpie5 no method really. We just got her a couple potty books to read on the potty. We're keeping her in big girl panties except nap & bedtime. And just trying not to go anywhere for the weekend.
