lol I feel like this will be me one day soon for sure. Dd's poos have been super loud.
Unrelated but the other night when dh got up with dd, she gave him two huge poops and ate more than she ever has before. She then refused to go to sleep for a while..., I felt only a little bad, my shift with her was the easiest one ever and she passed out before I even had to try... lol
I love the LCs at our hospital. DD has some serious latch issues and I have flat nipples, she lost 7% already so I was getting concerned. We've worked with two and we've set up a great plan to supplement for the next couple of days using the nipple shields and newborn feeding tube so she's still learning to breastfeed but actually eating. Then DH is doing some sucking practice with her since her tongue had no clue what to do and then we give her colostrum that's pumped during that. The hope is that once my milk comes in we'll be able to totally stop the supplement formula and once she figures out sucking I won't really have to pump unless I was to. They have taken such good care of us. It still takes DH and I to work through a feeding but it seems to be working. They are also getting is a hospital grade pump to take home so that will be nice.
If nothing changes we'll head home tomorrow. I haven't been home since Friday, nor have I showered. I feel so gross. I'm hoping the ob/gyn will clear me for a shower tomorrow.
I just talked to a postpartum counselor, and she recommended more skin to skin time with baby. Problem is, she seems to hate it! I tried with a sleepy baby and she went totally crazy. It just seems like there's never a good time. Add that to the list of things I feel like I keep screwing up!
Will she do a bath with you? I read an article discussing the benefits of deep water baths for newborns and how comforting it is to them especially when done with mom. It makes sense though, they were essentially in a giant bath for 40ish weeks, warm water is probably very soothing. Might be worth a try.

Yes, thank you! She still has her cord so I'm just waiting for it to come off. My parents used to shower with me too so I'd like to try that when we can.
