DS slept from 7pm to 4:45am. Of course I woke up at like 3am and finally went in to check on him at 4am. And the stupid doorknob is so loud that it made a noise and startled him (his sleep sack covered legs flew straight up in the air), but he didn't actually wake up. When he did wake up, he turned his crib soother on and was really pleased with himself. He did it Saturday morning, too.

He usually goes back to sleep for a little while after a bottle, but not this morning.

C is still sleeping. She went down at 830ish and it's 7. I woke up at 630 to a boob about to explode and had to pump. I'm resisting the urge to check on her until I go wake her sister up for daycare in 15 minutes. The magic Merlin really is magic. I'm sure this is a fluke but I think I almost got 7 hours of straight sleep for the first time in at least 3 months so I'm feeling pretty good.

Today I want to get a library card so I'm taking C to baby story time. Not really sure what value that will have but I'll give it a shot. I have a derm apt this afternoon to have my face lasered so I'm going to look special for a few days and will most likely not venture out too much after that until my face heals.

It's snowing here. Also I'm hoping my double stroller actually gets delivered today. I'm skipping playgroup to stay home and wait for it because I don't want to miss the delivery. Of course with my luck it will be delivered at supper time.

Good morning. Snowy and cold over here. I've got a do to list a mile long. Party went great yesterday, everyone had so much fun. All the parents told me what a great party idea it was. Time to get back on schedule and tackle some projects around the house now that all the holidays, birthdays and parties are over.

Need to finish some laundry, meal plan and grocery shop. DD had preschool this afternoon and dance tonight. DH has to go back into work tonight so there will be a lot of back and forth out of the house all day.

Thanks to jwinct, I know have Manic Monday stuck in my head. Which is fine, because I woke up with a Daniel Tiger song stuck in my head, so this is much preferred.

H is post call from the weekend and they are only doing 4 surgeries at work today, so they don't need me. We took the kids to daycare anyway, because money, and today was DS2's first day. It was very weird dropping him off, but I'm not nearly as emotional as I was when DS1 started way back when. As I was leaving, I looked back into the room at him sitting in the swing and said aloud, "Oh boy..." MH was like, "You can cry if you need to", but my thoughts actually were, "he's so little compared to the other kids" (he literally is, he's the youngest by a couple months at least) and "he'll be sick by the weekend" Literally every baby in there had a snotty, runny nose and/or was coughing. Its rough, but if he's anything like DS1 was, he'll be perpetually sick for about 18 months, but then will be immune to like, everything. I can't remember the last time DS1 was knock down sick.

Anyway, DH says after the weekend I had I deserve a little kid free time, so he's taking me to lunch and then we'll get the kids. Plus, late birthday "celebration." I just feel so...weird without at least one of them here.

jwinct Bangles forever!

My pumping session this morning is not going well. Last week, id get 8oz with my first pump--today it looks like 5 I got my Pumpin Pals order over the weekend so I'll have to try those out tomorrow. I'm fine with using formula if I have to, but I was hoping to wait until 6 months to do so.

Sleep was not great again. DS1 got up at 1:30 because he was cold...then asked if he could use the iPad. Then DS2 woke up a little while later, and again and again. I know DS1 is starting a cold, but I'm hoping DS2 doesn't catch it.

Work today. The kids are with my mom. I'll swing home at lunch to feed DD.

I am super excited. I am trying Amazon Fresh for the first time! My groceries are being delivered tomorrow morning.

iwantbacon Sorry you are still getting bad sleep over there. Hope things turn for you soon! Also dealing with pumping volume issues over here - can't tell if I'm not drinking enough, etc.

I can't tell if I'm sick or have some sort of weird, winter allergies. I've been a little sniffly, a little coughy, and watery/hazy eyes all weekend. I just want to nap because I'm exhausted.

DH is miserable at work today with all his co-workers who got the jobs getting congratulated. I wish I could do something for him. He's also upset because he got scheduled with three meetings tomorrow despite asking off to go look at day cares, so I'll have to go alone tomorrow.

Also- I've been mia because we just got back from Disney. It was amazing. DS1 loved it all and actually took a nap every day. DS2 is also so easy going and I nursed him while riding rides or eating and it was super easy with the infant. That place is just set up to be helpful and we even had cast members pull us from line and take us to the front - that happened 3 times! I think because my H was using crutches from his torn miniscus and the infant and toddler plus my parents who are not so young. We must have looked more helpless than we were!

I booked DD1's birthday party today. We weren't going to do an actual party somewhere, but DH mentioned having a party at the movie theater and she was really excited about that possibility. She's hitting double digits, so why not spend a small fortune for her birthday? Haha. Her birthday is March 13th and Beauty and the Beast comes out on the 17th, so I booked her party for the 18th to see it in 3-D. I think it will be so much fun! I can't wait to see it and I'm probably more excited about it than she is. I'm a Disney dork and I get the chills just watching the trailer. It looks so good.

Haha. Girl, yes. I'm a Capricorn, plus the oldest in my family. Ts&Ps for my loved ones. 😉

We had a morning playdate. Both girls are napping and I have no idea what to do with myself. The stuff I want to do I can't really do. I should and could clean. But I also have a super scratchy throat so I feel like I should rest up in case it gets bad. But there's nothing good on tv right now to keep me entertained.
DD is starting preschool tomorrow. I'm gonna be up all night worrying, I already know it. I'm stress eating too.
I'm gonna top LO off with some pumped milk tonight and see if we get a little longer on her sleep. I feel like I have no milk left by the end of the day. I haven't been pumping as much as I did with DD1.

So, I cried a lot this morning. More than I expected to or intended to. Once I pulled into the parking lot at work, I sat for about 10 minutes and just sipped my coffee and took some deep breaths trying to get my composure, and it helped. I haven't cried at work so that's good. Honestly, everyone has been so sweet and friendly and welcoming.

I got a few pieces of good news today too - I'm getting a 3.5% raise, I get an extra WEEK of vacation time, and my boss offered me 3 work from home days to use in the near future. I will take it!

I went to my favorite Children's Consignment store today because we can't find AG's sneakers. I got her 2 pairs and 3 shirts for $12. Then I went to Wal-Mart for cat food and planning supplies. We have 2 outside cats now and AG is in love with them.

It was so nice to have DH on vacation for two weeks.... BUT. My house is so delightfully quiet now. Just me and two sleeping kids. I need a whole lot less adult interaction than DH does. So nice to be getting back into a normal routine.

Snow day today and already called for tomorrow. Yay extra days of just me and the 4 kids.... not haha. Really hard to get the baby down for a nap with 3 kids playing. 2 of them don't know how to keep quiet. The toddler is crazy. He keeps climbing into a chair and then into his high chair to reach the art supplies from off of the high counter. Enough with the snow!

Ugh Purolator is seriously the worst company of life. My stroller still isn't here. I contacted them and they said they'll "look into it" and follow up with me. Cool beans. I need my stroller asshats. I stayed home from playgroup to make sure I didn't miss the delivery and it never came.

I bought the stroller from Best Buy so I wrote them an email and let them know they should contract another company to handle their shipments.

Oh you all think you were tired of your Hs...
I gave birth oct 19 and he was off for 2 weeks with the birth, then he was off 3 days at thanksgiving, then he hurt his knee and used crutches and worked from home for 3 weeks, we went to Nashville for 4 days, then he took 10 days in a row at Christmas, and then 4 days Disney trip.
I so enjoy my days of just me and the baby with H at work and DS at daycare.

When DD was born DH broke his ankle a few weeks later and was home/off work for 4 MONTHS! he couldn't drive or do anything... I was very ready for him to go back to work!

Cue "My first baby's first day of preschool is tomorrow" freakout.... Any helpful drop-off tips?? How do I make this easy for her?? She's so attached and pretty shy/slow to warm up, maybe even a little anxious. (I wonder where that came from?!?!) She's been home with me her whole life. Gah!

Don't sneak off but tell her goodbye quickly and exit. Remember that separation is also a life skill she needs to learn as is dealing with stressful situations without mom and dad. I still have to repeat these things to myself on a bad drop off and my kid has always been in daycare.
