BabyStandish I know you're not getting online much but happy birthday to your little guy!!
Guys, I woke up to a text from my nanny that she is sick. So today marks my first ever day solo parenting two kids. Much coffee will be involved. Probably wine too. I still have a box of it left over from DS's birthday party over the weekend lol

It's DH's first day back at work after vacation. So just me & peanut today. He's in his home stretch of wrapping up his active duty career. He's got 37 days left until he goes on terminal leave.
He had his psych eval on Friday & Saturday (last step of the hiring process) and the guy said as long as nothing came back crazy on his written test then he's passed and got the job!
Random side note. They let him push his academy date back until May so he'll be home to help me at the end of this pregnancy and for a few weeks after baby boy is born.
Fortunately my friend came over with her daughter in the afternoon so he was pretty good because he had someone to play with. But he barely ate dinner and now he's sitting up in his crib whining. Ugh. It's going to be a long night.
Lo is currently screaming "Dada, tuck in!!!" from his crib. Never mind that dh has tucked him in twice already and he thought it'd be funny to get up and play. Now he's realized we're not going back up and he's wailing his head off. Also tried to reorganize the pantry during nap today. Total fail- lo woke up in the middle of it, right as I realized that things weren't going to fit where I wanted them. I ended up sitting him down with TV and snack and hastily shoving things back into the pantry. Now I'm ready for snacks, a drink and the Bachelor. Once lo stops wailing. 😒
ourcrazynavylife yay for yh's job! And that's awesome they're giving him some time to be home for you and the new lo. dashook and kcrus noooooo.
Good morning! Headed to the library for storytime this morning. They have one for 2 and up every Tuesday, so we're trying it out today. We got a ton of snow overnight, but it's turning to rain this morning. Boooo.
laceysbryan FX crossed for you (from last week's random stuff, I'm a little behind) dashook how did solo parenting go? kcrus love your collage, that is hilarious. ourcrazynavylife FX for both YH and you. littlelion my LO loves to laugh ate when he knows he's not supposed to play the piano standing on it with his feet.
Had my 35 week appt yesterday, everything looks good. Baby is head down and I am measuring 2 weeks ahead and have lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks. This is the first time I have lost weight during last tri. Have been feeling great and nesting hard. DH is really liking his new job, so that's good. He is selling BobCat machines. The big goal with him having 2 jobs (his choice) is to pay off our student loan debt and start working towards paying off our house.
nemomof2 I can't believe you're 35 weeks already! So exciting!
Solo parenting went pretty well despite the nap boycott! I'm actually at it again today; I asked my nanny to stay home an extra day to give her cold a little more time to run its course before she comes around DD again. Only 9 more days til she gets her shots!
I'm home with F today since she can't go to daycare until the HFM has run its course. Luckily it's a snow day so I didn't have to do any planning to be away. I feel bad that she's all cooped up and can't play with her friends, hopefully she's on the mend soon. Luckily she's still feeling well and is cracking me up as usual. Her face when i told her there was no more cheese because she ate it all: Studying at the vet's:
She just asked me to go read in her crib in the middle of the afternoon lol

Hey J15
I've got a dilemma. As we've started setting up little man's nursery (which was previously the guest room) we've realized a crib + full size bed isn't going to fit in there.
So options
1. Move the guest bed to the garage and just keep it out there and set it up in the living room when people come over.
2. Move the guest bed into DD's room
3. Move all of DD's stuff to what was supposed to be the nursery and set up the nursery and guest bed in DD's old room.

WWJ15D ??
How often do you have guests stay over and use that room?
If a guest room is important to you, I say keep it as is and see how little man is as a sleeper. He will probably be in your room at first anyway, right? Maybe DD and the new little can share for awhile til you see how much you need a guest room vs. separate bedrooms for your kids. FWIW my oldest DD and oldest DS shared a room for about a year and it was totally fine.
ourcrazynavylife I would just have the guest room for when people came over. We plan on having DD and DS1 share and DS2 in his own room until DS2 becomes a better sleeper.
nemomof2 glad you're feeling good! You're in the home stretch now! dashook glad solo parenting is going well for you. Hope the nap boycott ends soon. BabyStandish so neat! megpie5 lo likes to hang out in his crib too. He usually protests after nap when we take him out. Of course he's trying to use it as a trampoline and not sitting quietly... hope the HFM clears up soon. ourcrazynavylife if it's just a couple times a year I'd just set up the kid's rooms the way you want and worry about the guest room when the time comes. We only have 2 bedrooms in our house, so if we have people stay overnight we set up a space in our loft or the living room. It all works out.
