How's everything going? Slowly improving. I'm still having latch and nipple pain issues but with practice on positioning were getting it right more often (still only 50:50, but better than it was). My nipples aren't getting any worse at least and LO is gaining weight well so that's keeping me going.
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? No questions I haven't already asked and had great responses to. LO is just starting to give the cutest milk drunk smiles after feeding.
Is this your first experience with BF? Nope, I BF DS1 for 6mo. While not easy, this time is going much better so I keep reminding myself of that.
What is one reason why you want to BF? The health benefits for LO, in particular sharing my immune system while his is developing/waiting for vaccines.
GTKY: what's your favorite room in your home? We just remodeled or master/study into master with nursery off it and I love how both rooms turned out. Just need to finish the small jobs and find pictures for walls but they're both very relaxing and comfortable spaces.

How old is LO? 11 weeks
How's everything going? bad
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? E latches but gets frustrated because of the lack of supply and will cry. I am pumping so little I am beginning to question if it is even worth it. I really don't want to give up.
Is this your first experience with BF? Yes
What is one reason why you want to BF? The bonding and I wanted her to get my milk.
GTKY: I love E's room, lol. The nicest most put together room in the house.
Every bit of breastmilk is good for your baby, no matter the quantity. Formula is good for your baby too. I hope you and an IBCLC can come up with a plan to get your supply up, and rule out treatable causes of low supply like thyroid imbalance or retained placenta. www.motherandchildhealth.com/breastfeeding/hidden-hindrances-to-a-healthy-milk-supply/

I did meet with an iblc 2 weeks ago so far none of her suggestions have worked. I need to check in with her again to see what the next steps are.

waitwhat typically food sensitivities show up as mucousy bloody poop. As long as baby is gaining weight, having 6+ wet diapers in 24 hours, and not in discomfort/pain, then spit up is just a laundry issue. Spit up usually peaks sometime between 2-4mo.
If you'd like you can keep a food log & a spit up log and compare, but if you've got a happy spitter, no need to put yourself through that.

How old is LO? About 5.5 wks
How's everything going? Fairly well.
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? Nope, it's going pretty well. We're working through my overactive/forceful letdown like we did with the other kids.
Is this your first experience with BF? No, I nursed DS for about 3m and my twins for 18m.
What is one reason why you want to BF? Convenience: I always have it in hand, no mixing required, cheaper, plus no bottles to wash.
GTKY: what's your favorite room in your home? I spend most of my time in the living room... But I'm not sure I have a favorite room tbh.

Sorry things aren't going well. Are you on supplements? And yes to seeing a LC again. Good luck.

I am doing supplements. I may schedule something for the LC in another week or so,

How old LO?: 5 days
How's everything going?: Things are going well! He's had a great latch ever since he took the boob after birth and is a hungry hungry hippo. I've had some really sore nips this time around but I think we've figured things out so they aren't hurting as bad for as long.
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share?: Not that I can think of.
Is this your first experience with BF?: Nope!
What is one reason why you want to BF?: Money is actually a fairly large reason this time around. We're missing a large portion of our monthly income with me on leave and if I cab avoid at least the cost of formula, that'd be great.
GTKY: What's your favorite room in your home?: My bedroom lol Actually, the kitchen. It has a ton of counter space that I'm still not used to having. I wish they'd made the cupboards more effective as far as storage options go because I'm severely limited in number of drawers available, but it's still my favorite room.
@kc295905 I'd just be extra sure that the bra you wear to work out isn't tighter or putting pressure on the spot, including in the movements you do in class. Other than that working out should be fine. Rest is good protocol if you have mastitis but not totally necessary for just a clog or possible clog.
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? Not at the moment. I'm still in the hospital and have received support from some incredibly helpful and knowledgeable nurses.
Is this your first experience with BF? No. I breastfeed and supplemented DS1 for three months. I gave up due to a myriad of issues that I'm sure could have been prevented had I been more knowledgeable or outspoken from the start.
What is one reason why you want to BF? The bond as well as convenience and chance to save some $$
GTKY: what's your favorite room in your home? I don't have a favorite but I spend most of my time in the family room.

Congrats on your new baby heybulldog56! Unfortunately a lot of people who want to BF end up stopping because of inadequate education & support. Which is one of the reasons I love this board & community so much! I learned a ton here - heck I still do!

Thanks lilyelayne. I actually do have a question now. DS2 had a busy morning and was away from me for almost three hours (car seat test, circumcision). I was worried about supply and the nurse told me to pump. When DS2 was brought back I fed him about 5 ml of expressed milk before he fell asleep. It's been three hours now and he's still asleep. I woke him up and put him to breast but he just kept falling asleep. Do I go ahead and pump? Wait for him to wake up hungry? Keep waking him up until he latches and eats? I am really paranoid about messing up the process of establishing my milk.

heybulldog56 assuming he's not back up to birth weight, at 3 hours I would attempt to wake him. Unswaddling DS and setting him on a flat surface for a bit usually woke him up enough to latch. You can try rubbing his cheek/shoulder/feet while he's nursing to keep him awake. You can try a wet wipe or cool rag on his cheek or feet.
