We got a huge garden when we moved last year. We were able to get it cleaned out over the summer, but we still need to build raised beds. I have no idea what I want to plant yet.
Figuring out what to plant is one of my favorite activities (yes I know I'm boring). Have you grown anything before?
We had a small raised bed at our old house. I've done peppers, potatoes, lettuce, zucchini, cucumber, onions, garlic, herbs etc.

DH loves gardening. He can't wait to build raised beds for our new backyard. I keep trying to convince him not to go too big. He's so into it that he used it as a reason the end of March would be bad to go away because of his seedlings that'll be in the house lol.
We really want to do one by I feel like we need professional help to get started... I'm not an expert and we are in a completely different climate. All the plants here are unfamiliar
I'm trying to remember your whereabouts...any idea what some you're in? Humid or dry?
We are in Central Texas (near Austin), Zone 8 bordering on 9, we have gotten an occasional night below freezing but not enough to freeze the ground... decently dry.
We had a small garden back in PA, but it's been awhile and also that is a completely different climate!

I think we need to make a gardening thread because I need to get back on board. I didn't do a garden last year because I was too overwhelmed with a new baby. The house came with a small raised bed and I may just use that to start before I go crazy. I used to plant over a dozen different things and have enough variety to last us the whole summer.

I don't mind starting one, but is now a good time or too early? Most things won't need to be started until Feb in most zones...

We should probably wait a bit, but lets not forget! lol.
