I second what everyone has said peaseblossom55. I struggled to BF/ pump enough for DS. If you ever want to chat, send me a PM. I had a lot of anxiety and guilt over my struggles to BF. I made it to 3 months but most of what he got was formula. I was able to pump maybe 1/2 oz (on good days). It was really difficult and took me a long time to accept that there was nothing wrong with me and that formula was not the devil. If it helps, my DS is perfectly healthy, smart, and funny. Formula did not ruin him Whatever you choose is the best for you and your baby, promise!

When I got my K'Tan for DS1 I tried it on right away with a throw pillow and cried because I couldn't make it fit.

I was 9 months pregnant. No shit that it wouldn't fit. #newbie

peaseblossom55 don't thinking of it as quitting, you are not a failure. Do what you have to for your own mental health, baby will be fed and healthy and that is what matters most. Also, I went to a bf'ing support group today and the LC there recommends against using reglan. I know we chatted a bit about that on bf'ing board. She had a serious reaction to it, so good for you for staying away from it, I had no idea the side effects.

peaseblossom55, hugs girl. I understand where you're coming from. I'm EPing right now and giving N just over half BM and slightly less formula. I hate it. No matter how hard I try, I am so mad at my body for not producing more and feeling like a failure. I'm going to keep it up for awhile but wouldn't be surprised if I end up quitting within the next few months. It's hard when you work your ass off for something and it just doesn't work how you want, especially when others don't struggle at all. Just know you're not alone and I'm here if you need anything.

Told my supervisor about the induction plan, and she called flight leadership over at the other building. They immediately came back with a list of a million questions (visitors, meal trains, etc) that had to be answered right this second. I'm honestly not gonna know how I'm gonna feel about seeing people until I have the baby. Jesus, people.

peaseblossom55 try not to stress about output while pumping. Put on some nice music or a funny video and just let the pump run. Set a timer. Whenever I was too stressed about output it decreased.

NST went well this morning. OB went over the pre-surgery instructions. Cervix check: still Fort Knox. Not surprised, it was the same with DS and I haven't had any contractions.

Had plans to see a friend today but she asked to do brunch tomorrow instead. It's raining buckets so I'm fine being home!

I spent all day eating, watching Shameless, and sleeping on the couch. I am living it up before baby! Off to pick my DS up and then head to the airport to get my mom. Dh is staying home to cook chili.

My rule of thumb with a newborn: pee and refill your water before sitting down to nurse. Even if baby is screaming. Take the 90 seconds to do those things.

And eat a small snack after every session (unless it's meal time). BFing made me so hungry!

Igot a lot of work done working from home today. But forgot to do any laundry. Oops.

I did NOT forget to eat most of a bag of pretzels, many christmas cookies, lasagna, peanut butter and nutella bagel with banana slices, most of a bag of trail mix and lots of cantaloupe. Thankfully, DH was totally on board with my suggestion of salads for dinner...

Is it weird that I lose my appetite postpartum? I have to make myself eat because I know it's important for my supply. I'm always looking for higher calorie foods to eat while nursing.

Funny story... I think it was Saturday. I didn't check in with my other BMB at all. And by the end of the day, they were like, OMG JUDY MUST BE HAVING HER BABY!  Up until that point, I was thinking, yay, I might cook a 40 week baby.  But then I went into full freak out mode because, I mean, it could be any day now, right?

So, I went crazy on the food prep on Sunday. I actually made this lasagna with the thought that a) we have a lot going on this week with having the house painted, and it's a easy microwave meal and b) if I have a baby and MIL has to come get DD, she can at least have some delicious lasagna..

I just got home from shopping at BRU for any last minute things needed for new baby (breastfeeding pillow, car seat bases, etc). I'll wait til we get our rewards back to get anything on registry that can wait til she's a bit older. Anyhow, that was exhausting and now I need a nap. It's 7pm, maybe I'll just sleep through the night.

In my experience if you do your own house painting you'll have a baby in your arms 8 hours later
