Where do/did you guys buy nursery stuff? I'm talking sheets, curtains, wall art, etc. etc. Not furniture. I'm quite particular and want nice things that look really pretty but I also refuse to spend $400 on curtains. It's proving difficult to find something I like! I got DD1's stuff from Carousel Designs but either their prices went up or I was first child money blind when I bought that stuff.

I've been shopping all over the place, curtains came from PB Kids (clearance with a coupon) and some of the art has come from Etsy and Home Goods. I had a really hard time with bedding for B/G twins and finally just caved and bought that at PB Kids too, I'm still not in love with it but really tired of searching!

dukegirlsc, DD1s sheets from PB kids just came and I am in LOVE. Thank goodness because I locked myself into a color theme (thanks to those expensive curtains I got her and refused to change from when her room was a nursery). I'd been looking FOREVER for sheets I liked that were fun and matched the color theme. Bonus: they came with coupons for a future purchase. I'll look for nursery sheets there too.
My poor second children. They literally got nothing except two frames (giraffe and elephant) that I randomly saw at Home Goods. Other than that, they've got two cribs and a dresser in their room. No curtains (shutters) and nothing else. Totally different story for dS1. Eventually I got decals of their names above their cribs because it was really starting to look bare (especially compared to their brother).
We did a Baby Lion King theme for our daughters. (My favorite Disney movie - I'm totally obsessed - so no other themes were considered.) My décor basically came from Babies R Us, some from Walmart, some from Target. And, of course, Amazon.
pbandj714 agreed on entire bedding sets. I don't like the bumpers/blankets period but I do fall for a cute skirt, sheet, and curtain combo if available. Love blankets hanging from curtain rods. It's amazing what we do and then get used to. I'm the exact same way. Until my MIL comes and basically asks if I'm poor. Not really, but it feels like that. Like that time she bought us a paper towel holder because ours was from DH's bachelor days, was wood and actually had some mold on the bottom of it. Can't say I noticed.
piccyami- sci fi?! Nice! Can we see some pictures? That sounds unique.
Can't believe I didn't think of Etsy or kohl's! And DIY! That could be fun. I did refinish their dresser on my own and felt pretty darn accomplished. haha
Ha! DVMmomma, I definitely took down the blanket curtain when MIL and her H babysat the kids last week because I didn't want her to see it and feel compelled to buy me curtains that I'd likely hate, lol. There are mini-blinds, so at least the window wasn't naked.
Twin sheet. That folded over part at the top? Cut a small hole at each end, thread curtain rod through and you have pocket curtains. If you wanna get fancy, you can see straight across so there's fabric above the pocket but really, why? Bonus- there are tons of cute flat sheets out there
DVMmomma , At some point, I will have to get around to doing pictures. We did blueprints of the ships from different shows (so big, high contrast pictures) and I made the changing pad covers and crib skirts.
I think we ordered the dresser from overstock. We decided to buy it right before they stopped selling it. I'm still mad we didn't get the smaller dresser (can't find it anywhere now).

I'm not particularly concerned with decor, like there are things I like but I'm also not willing to spend a bunch. We mostly did Target, Amazon & Home Goods. We just moved so DD's new room is a little plain right now. We had wallpapered an accent wall in her last room that I liked. I want to do wainscoting in her new room but that'll probably take a while.
