I just blasted through all the dinky shopping for his birthday party. Yes it's a month away, but I need to take advantage of having a car and no baby. So I just have a few things left to order but we're done! Going to get him in 5, let's hope he slept today. Either way he's staying home With dad while I go for my first massage in a year and a half.

Hey ladies. H had preschool this morning and while she was there S & I went to the mall. Gap had 50% off full price merchandise in store, plus I get an extra 10% off with my gapcard, score! The new dumbo stuff is so cute, but I didn't get that. I got some new workout leggings and a top. I also went to Sephora and got a replacement for my truth serum. I'm gonna keep using what works. Now H is eating lunch, S is nursing and then it's naptime for the children. I'm going to find a workout video on YouTube and do that.
It's quiet in here today! Today has been a weird day. I was supposed to have a super busy day at work plus a dentist appointment for myself this afternoon. DD is teething and developed a cold so she's kind of feeling crummy and I was feeling bad for sending her to daycare. While I was getting ready I got a call that school was 2 hours late, so no preschool for DS. Then as we're walking out the door I find out school go cancelled totally. I was supposed to visit a couple kids out of town this morning. Our temps are "dangerously" low and it was windy so it was stirring stuff up, it's not snowing or blizzarding or anything. So I cancelled my work appointments and hauled the kids to daycare anyway. We would have stayed home had it not been for my dentist appointment, but I need to go get that done. I did call in and they got me in earlier, so I did it before lunch. Was going to get the kids early but daycare said DD is napping and doing ok so I'll leave them until after nap. I'm currently in my office pumping and plan to do nothing for the next couple of hours.
Also, H had a plumber come over yesterday to look at our basement. It needs a full remodel job and we are creating a bedroom and bathroom down there, so they looked at where we would put the bathroom and such. I think today I'm going to email the gal who designed our big remodel that we did 4 years ago and see if she might be of some help for designing the bathroom layout and the rest of the basement. Our basement is very choppy, the stairs are basically in the middle of the house and the rooms are all divided up all around it, not like a big wide open space.

Our stairs go down the middle of our house too. On one side is the family room, the utility room is across from the bottom of the stairs and then 2 bedrooms and a bathroom are on the other side. It's pretty much how our upstairs is laid out too.

Our basement is chopped up into 6 rooms. A small family room with a fireplace, a room that will be the bedroom and we'll build the bathroom in there with it, a utility room, another concrete room next to the utility room that has a work bench thing, a storage room, and just another room that's random. It's next to the family room and you walk through it to get to the utility and storage areas. Right now it's just full of junk. So I want to see if we can open it a bit to the family room to extend it. The whole basement just seems small with it all divided up.
Poor sick babes I am happy that we only got every other week(daycare), but then she is almost ALWAYS sick on her week home with my H. Then he gets sick.... not fun for me.

We did a few hours with the baby I'm watching today. It was kind of awful, ha. He won't take a bottle and was getting really worked up, which woke X from a nap but I didn't want to have to chase him around while trying to calm the baby and feed him. Maybe I should have said no to this family and waited for an older kiddo...

Sorry things are rough right now. It'll be a transition for everyone, I'm sure. Could you give it a couple weeks and if it's still not working then you could let the other family know?

For sure! I definitely wouldn't leave them hanging. Hopefully it gets a little better each time.

Re bottle issues: make sure you try different temperatures, S likes her milk really warm.
Yesterday DS slept in until 8am. DD might have too, but I had to get her up for daycare.
This morning, nothing was on the agenda so I was hoping to sleep in until at least 7. Nope, DD was up at 6. It was like she sensed my desire. Lol. I managed to get her to at least lay in bed quietly for another half hour or so though. Of course once she was was up for the day, it didn't take long before DS woke too.

DS has his followup echo tomorrow (background: some minor issue was found at 1 month and this is a followup to make sure it's resolved). I'm already anxious about it. He's 200% going to be screaming inconsolably through the entire thing and I'm just not sure they'll even be able to do it.

(Hugs) that's so stressful, I hope it goes smoothly/his issue resolved and that you can distract him while they're doing it

I'll be thinking of him tomorrow. I hope you get the all clear.

I hope he's as cooperative as can be expected and everything comes back clear!

Fingers crossed that he will cooperate and that it is all resolved!!
