That's interesting about the stretchy wraps, I never knew there was a minimum weight recommendation. I wore DD pretty much right away at about 7lb in the Solly wrap. I just checked their site and it does say to take extra care with their airway under 7lb.
I'm already in bed and reading a trashy novel. Tomorrow my SILs are taking me out to brunch for a little "sprinkle" and then if I'm not too tired MH and DD and I might go to the zoo. Counting down the last days of DD being an only child is bittersweet.

My mil is on her way over. Right at dinner time. She was not invited over for dinner. What do we think the chances are that she'll bring dinner? I vote 0%.
The chances she'll expect me to cook? 100%. The chances I'll ever let her see my children again? 49%

Thanks carrots and rinny. I'm pretty sure (and hoping that) it's just from this non stop nursing. This is all so new since last time my BF experience was a disaster.

I just opened up my new pump to get the pieces organized, sanitized, etc. All it did is remind me how much I hate pumping. Here's hoping this baby nurses like a champ. And, kudos to any of you that has to pump frequently.
I think I'm struggling with a bit of baby blues. Or something. I'm already on anti depressants for anxiety/depression, and have been taking those properly.
I just feel blah. Do not want to have visitors or even answer text messages. I'm totally fine with someone else holding F, or putting him in the swing, if he doesn't need to be fed. I was not like that with R. Can't read a book or even concentrate on a show.
I know I should get out of the house but it's so cold, and I'm so tired and sore.
Inability to focus on a show is always a huge red flag that my anxiety has increased. Also, when I had pdd/ppa with DS, I wanted to feed him and put him down somewhere asap. Maybe just keep an eye on yourself. It's possible your dosage of meds needs tweaking or your body just needs a little bit of time to settle down. Hang in there. Depression and anxiety are so hard.
I believe what I am currently experiencing is cluster feeding. Is it normal for my nipples to start stinging with every suck? The LC told me pain means something's wrong but I'm not sure if that's the case or if this non stop feeding is just causing extra soreness/ sensitivity. I already know he has a short tongue but his latch has been relatively good and I haven't hurt until now. Any anecdotes or insight? I'll ask nurse when she comes by but I wanna hear from you all too.
You know, this is the thing I can't remember at all about the first few weeks of nursing. I was trying to help my friend and it's kind of a blur. I think the only time I felt pain was the initial latch for maybe 1-2 weeks. And, I know I had no blood, but they were sore. Lanolin or nipple butter after every feed and lots of fresh air.
I think it's not supposed to hurt the entire time and just on the initial latch/first few suckles. I'm pretty sure any sign of blood would indicate a latch issue.
MissDemeanor I missed your post earlier. Don't hesitate to talk to your Dr if you think something is off. I hope you feel better soon, take care of yourself!

Thanks weeklyplanner. It only hurt at the start of one of the last sessions of his cluster feed party. This makes me think the pain really is just due to the cluster shit. I'll be keeping an eye on it, that's for sure.
We had DD's birthday party today and she had a blast! She turns 3 today and in 4 days will be a big sister. So so so bittersweet and I'm an emotional wreck!! On a more painful note I now have a varicose vein on my inner thigh - holy hell that hurts!!!
MissDemeanor so sorry about MIL. Hopefully she defied the odds and brought some food with her!!

Happy birthday to your daughter! My son turns 3 in a couple weeks. He suddenly looks so big next to my baby.
Nope, mil showed up empty handed. Of course. I'm refusing to get out of bed so she can't ask me to make her dinner at least. My bf made a frozen pizza. Apparently this is our go to meal for people who show up at meal time expecting to hold my baby while I cook for them.

If we did she would also show up with the receipt and tell her how much we owe her.

Woke up to DS1 whimpering because of what I assume was a bad dream and then realized, oh hey, I can't breathe! Awesome. Sigh. I think I'm allergic to our new laundry soap. Right about the time I feel asleep after taking a Benadryl and my inhaler, W woke up. Yaaayyy.....
heybulldog56,I'm late responding but as someone who's experienced BF issues twice now the advice I've got is that some discomfort and tenderness is normal for the first few weeks - at the beginning of a feed but not throughout. But, as others have said, blisters, bleeding or excessive pain is indicative of a problem.
You mentioned B has a short tongue? DS1 had, and DS2 has, a tongue tie which prevents it extending behind the gum line during feeding. This causes a whole host of problems including lots of pain due to nipple compression/ shallow latch. I'm not sure if a short tongue would have the same effect but if you have any signs that your nipples are mishapen or squashed in any way after feeding I'd mention that to the LC.
Hopefully this is just the normal sensitivity for you and things will settle down and become more comfortable soon.
So pleased B has been released from the NICU by the way!

@missdeneanor I've obviously missed a bunch on the board - but what the hell?? Your MIL sounds like a special kind of crazy!! Giving you her gas receipt for coming visit?? And the FB stuff I just can't get over!!
DH's sister is all about posting everything, EVERYTHING, and everybody's business on FB. One of the main reasons I hardly ever post anymore and haven't put up any pics of DD. If I wanted the world to see them, I would share them, not you! So annoying!!
I don't know why but I go to bed early then stare at my phone until midnight/1am. DS is eating his way through the fruit bowl, we're on orange number 2, must buy more in.

DH got up early to watch his beloved Manchester City soccer. I was all excited to starfish out in bed, only to have pregsomnia strike. Even tried the snoogle. No dice.
So we're both up at 6:40 without the toddler. The couch is comfier on my hips anyway.
Was very anxious last night because baby wasn't doing her usual after-snack dance party. After making us both worried she finally started waking up and then kicked the shit out of me once I finally calmed down and wanted to sleep. Already trolling me.
I may have turned into a believer in Vicks on the feet last night. No uncontrollable coughing fits and no vomitting! Lots of getting up to pee because gatorade, but that was totally worth it too.

Morning all. Very little sleep last night. DS2 finally fell asleep for a good stretch around 6 am. He's still sleeping so it's time to wake him up and put him on the boob! After eating he has to take a "car seat" test which means I will have 90 minutes to nap, hooray!
