Sounds nice @feegan!
We had a check up for the babies today. (6 months next week) Baby boy is in the 75 percentile and is almost 19 lbs. Baby girl is 50% fot hight but 10 for the rest and weighs 13 lbs. But the dr was impressed at how strong baby girl is and is very happy at how they are doing. So a happa mama here:) But they got needles and they are not very happy today .
Other then PT on Thursday we have nothing planed. During the week. May have friends over this weekend for a delayed NYE (we were sick) but now they are sick so who knows if it will happen or not.

I plan to try to sleep as much as possible today. This damn sinusitis just won't let go! If concentrated rest doesn't make a dent, I have an ENT appointment tomorrow morning right before my OB monitoring stuff.
Plans for the rest of the week hinge on health status. At least the rest of the household is healthy.

I'm looking for breast pump recommendations, that is on my list of things to do this week! I travel for work (mostly by car) so will need to pump often and sometimes in the car. Thanks ladies!

I was off work today and it was a roughhhh day. G is teething and freaking grouchy. L is recovering from her mystery illness of just fevers, still not eating a lot, and grouchy. Worst day they've had in quite a while. I lost my shit a couple times.
Their 7 month birthday is Friday, so it will be easy for us to "protest" the inauguration by leaving the TV off because we'll be busy photo-shooting and things. How are we at 7 months already?! I've started party planning already! WAH.
DH was off yesterday for MLK day. We had big plans then he got the stomach virus DD1 had. He threw up all night then was exhausted so we just hung out. We did get a chance to go look at another house. House hunting with 3 littles is a pain in the butt though thankfully our realtor is so patient with us and the kids. She even ends up holding a baby while we walk through most houses. Anyways, we liked the house. It doesn't have the character that we hoped we'd get...instead of early 1900's character, it has 1960's mid century modern character but it's still awesome and has a great amount of space, a huge yard, and a quiet neighborhood. I want to see it one more time but I think we might make an offer!
We're battling through the end of RSV, I have a multiples meeting tonight, the puppy and I start classes again tomorrow night, and H has a dentist appointment on Thursday, so I get to do solo pickup then. This week is going to be an interesting one.

Currently watching bad TV and drinking a hard cider to dull the pain of listening to M CIO. It's not helping as much as I had hoped.
We ended up sleeping training them separately (G first) because we thought M might be sick. I'm now really glad we did it that way because M has been screaming for half an hour and G has only woken up once and fell back to sleep without a problem. If I had to sit here and listen to both of them screaming I would lose my mind.
Thanks! It took 45 minutes but he finally went down and has been sleeping for the last 2 hours, and G did a really good job sleeping through his cries. I should be sleeping but I've been really productive making baby food and rearranging furniture so I can build the cribs tomorrow.
dukegirlsc, I had the Medela pump in style. I guess it was ok? I don't really have any complaints. Pumping sucks no matter how to do it me thinks. I might try a hospital grade this time if it's actually faster. That would be swell.
@feegan Both of mine are trying to work deadbolts and doorknobs. I think the only thing saving us is that we have an old house with stick doors and knobs.

I love my Spectra S2! It's so quiet and efficient. I think the S1 comes with a battery pack but I bought a plug that plugs into the lighter hole and has a regular plug strip attached for like $20 and it works perfectly to plug my pump in and use it in the car.
After this whole RSV thing, I'm starting to re-think our arrangement where we both work. I have basically no sick leave, Z went to the doctor on Friday (and used a half day of my leave), they both stayed with my mom yesterday, and now my mom's sick today. I'm pretty positive that I'm going to wind up going to get them today because W is still coughing some and they both run hot off and on. I'm also not happy at work and if H gets the raise we expect, we can theoretically afford for me to stay home.
@feegan, We get raises every year in March. The raise varies some every year, so we can't be certain how much we'll get. I've been toying with looking for another job (because no leave anyway) for a while. Between being female in a male-dominated field and not really enjoying my work, either leaving for another job or just staying home sounds like a good idea. We've really got to sit down and hash this out. Bottom line, something's gotta give.
piccyami I have 13 days of sick leave and I think 24 days of vacation per year, so the benefits are pretty good. I found that between daycare closings (for a home daycare that takes 3 weeks of vacation per year), sick days for kids, and sick days for me, I'll have nothing or less than nothing left for PTO. The last week and a half (in which I haven't been at work at all since I or the kids have been out sick) have solidified that having me cut back to hourly/part-time is the right decision for us to mostly cover daycare while keeping me from hot water at work. (Daycare does a better job all day than I could.) As you said, something's gotta give.

I could have written this post 2 years before we had the twins. I was DYING to get pregnant so I could leave my crappy job. When they were born, I was in my dream job, albeit a little underpaid, but my heart wasn't in it. I tried, halfheartedly, and it showed. One of coworkers was literally on her way over to my desk to chew me out for not pulling my own weight when I told her I was leaving. She was totally right. It was so hard, especially knowing it will be really really hard to get back into what I was doing in 5 years. But it was better than ruining my reputation as a good employee and hard worker. I'm hoping in the next year to pick up some freelance work to bridge my time out of the workforce but we'll see. Being a SAHM is harder than I ever imagined. I wouldn't change it for the world though
schmella My heart's not in my work either. That's one of the reasons I'm itching to get out asap. I almost left before maternity leave, but since I've been salaried for a bit over a year I get two weeks of paid parental leave. It'd be stupid to not use it, so I'm waiting until shortly after ML to switch to part-time hourly (if they'll allow it). If they don't allow it, I'll have to leave completely and hustle more to find paying work. Staying where I am, I will just dig myself a deeper and deeper hole.
These naptime antics have gone way past ridiculous. They have started pounding on the walls and jumping in their beds- I REFUSE TO NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS!!!
A has thrown 2 EPIC tantrums this morning. I'm really hoping they get better with the tubes. I mean I know toddlers but these inconsolable sobfests are.... as I'm writing this I'm realizing I'm just screwed. Thank god they're so cute
I told this story to schmella today but thought I'd share here:
Yesterday I learned that J is tall enough and strong enough to work the deadbolt because he locked me out of the house. Thankfully MH was home and heard me ringing the doorbell because my purse, keys, and phone were still inside. Lesson learned, never let one stay inside when buckling up the other in the van. Oh the joy of multiples!

Hi guys. Trying yet again to get more active on TCF. It's been a hectic few weeks as we're planning another big move. But in less than a month I'll have normal, usable internet and should hopefully be able to keep up! Hope you're all well and your multiples or multiples-to-be aren't running you ragged.
It just took me 40 minutes to put them to bed (normally I can do it in 20). The extra 20 minutes were spent holding each twin while I presume a demon was being expelled from their bodies?! IDK what just happened. IDK why they were upset nor what I did that made things better? Just so glad they are in bed. Send wine? ETA I hope I'm not scaring any of you new PoMs - y'all realize I'm laughing my ass off, it was so weird to watch them go from happy to mad to sad to happy without any discernible thing happening. Toddlers be cray.
My 3.5 year old yelled for 20 min from her bed that she wasn't tired. How in the world am I going to do bedtime with her and 2 babies? I wish I could have some wine 😬
The dog gnawed the strap off of my bra sometime in the night. I'm guessing it was because I kept getting up with babies instead of staying in the bed. W kept waking up because he was cold (I only figured it out at 5:45 this morning) and screamed until I fed him. Kid ate 14 oz overnight.

@feegan my insurance wouldn't cover a hospital grade pump unless my baby was in the NICU. She was a late term preemie but didn't spend time in the NICU so they wouldn't budge on that. Depends on coverage I'm sure though.
Also, mental notes taken on the no leaving the other munchkins inside. 😱 I can't believe he locked you out. So glad YH was there.
