Icy out there today. Playgroup got cancelled, so we're staying in. Which is probably a good thing because DS1 is a whiny mess and could use a good, long nap!
I did a drop-in baby and me aquafit class with L last week and loved it! The next session starts in Feb so I've signed up.
Between a snow day and MLK day, this is Day 6 of DD1 not having school. She is driving me up the wall. Can't wait for school tomorrow.
The ice subsided and we had a friend, her son and foster son over yesterday. I'd met the foster son before but only on playground play dates. Holy cow he is a tornado.
We started solids with Baby R and she spit everything out and made epic faces the first time, then yesterday seemed to get it and moved her head toward the spoon and tried to pull it into her mouth.. Yay! She ate maybe 1 oz.
Baby R is so happy and fun and snuggly right now, I just love it. Don't grow up, baby!!

I am currently pumping at work. I really hate coming in to work after so many days off, especially when I know I can do my job better from home. Also, it looks like the other person who did my job didn't do shit while I was gone so I get the pleasure of cleaning up the mess.
S has gone from initially liking solid food to hating everything he has tried. I get one tiny spoonful in his mouth and then he refuses anything else. He seems to respond to the BLW style but it scares the crap out of me when he gags. So, I am just trying to decide what to do going forward.
It's L's first day back at school on the new ADHD medicine so we will see how he does.
YOU GUYS!! We had a HUGE day yesterday with M!! Not only did she decide to roll from her back to her belly for the first time, but she also decided out of no where that baby oatmeal was DA BOMB DIGGITY and devoured it! We literally went from lips sealed, would not even lick the cereal off her lips to ERMAHGAWD GIMME MORE! Super proud/excited momma! I was eating some raw broccoli with dinner (I know, I'm weird) and she was super interested, as always, so I gave her the stalk to gnaw on and she was going to town. Not quite sure why that made me think to try cereal again since it was no different from her chew toys, but I did and she destroyed the mini portion I made at first, then the whole "normal" first portion! Super excited/proud momma!
sarcaztic10 We do BLW bc I feel like purrees and spoon feeding is more stressful for me. I know it's not for everyone, but real choking is pretty rare. Gagging really isn't a big deal and is normal. You just have to remember that which is easier said than done! We haven't started yet bc I'm waiting until 6 months and want E to be able to sit up better.
On that note, does anyone else have a baby who can't sit up on his own? E won't be 6 months until the 28th, but while I thought he was heading in the right direction with almost being able to sit a month ago, he can't do it now and doesn't even try. Just arches his back when we try to help him.
rungirlrun B doesn't sit up on his down. I can get about 5 seconds at a time, but then he falls on his face. It's basically me balancing him and letting go.
Pumping at work. I basically doubled my water in take, and make sure I drink 32oz before I even get to work at 8am. I'm running to pee every 20 minutes.
We started B on purees and he bangs and grunts until you reload the spoon and put it in his mouth. He freaking loves food. I just moved him up to 2x a day. He gets about 2oz at DC at lunch and then 2 oz at home when we eat dinner. I also let him have a mum mum rice cake, which I didn't let DS1 have. He loves it. Kid can't get enough food.

ETA- B won't be 6 months until Saturday.
rungirlrun, +1 to this and M will be 6 months tomorrow. She does well in the high chair though! Just struggles when totally on her own.

rungirlrun S can almost sit up all by himself he just needs a bit more control. He has only rolled a couple of times. The not sitting up well and him not quite being 6 months is why I haven't been pushing solids that much. He sits well in a high chair and reaches for food but is also content with the boob.
Can I add a TMI Tuesday question? Anyone care to share if AF has returned yet? Mine has not.
Mine is threatening to return. Three times I've lightly spotted for a whole day followed by brown spotting. When it happens, I feel like it's my period: bad mood, bloat, greasy skin, etc. with DD I got 15 months but she also nursed round the clock. I have a feeling I'll be getting it soon as he has had 6 hours stretches overnight again.
HK has RSV - great.... DH actually stayed home with her and took her to the doctor while I am working. Oh the joys. But I will probably staying home with her tomorrow.
sarcaztic10 with my first BLW scared the crap out of me. This time around I am more lax and feeding her stuff off my plate as she seems interested. I do give her just a small bite at first and then let her go to town.
ginabini we are FF now but we EBF until 5 months and AF returned at 4 months and then took a 50 day hiatus and had to get it kick started again through meds.

Today was my first day at a new gym, the YMCA. My old gym restructured their childcare and now I'd pay more for the childcare than the gym so I had to quit.
Anyway, I was my first time there, first time taking two kids to the "kidzone"'and my first Body Pump in a few weeks. We made it!!!
Can I add a TMI Tuesday question? Anyone care to share if AF has returned yet? Mine has not.
Mine hasn't. But I've been having several dreams where I get my period unexpectedly while out resulting in major embarrassment. Don't know what's up with that. I clearly have anxiety!
With DS1, I got it at 9 months despite still nursing about 7-8x/day. And of course I got it on the morning when my H and I were heading out of town for a wedding leaving DS1 at home. We were all excited to have some child free sex and relaxation. Instead, I spent the weekend changing tampons and pumping. The exact opposite of sexy!
Can I add a TMI Tuesday question? Anyone care to share if AF has returned yet? Mine has not.
Mine has not returned last time it took eight months. I had to get chest xray last month to check and see if i had pneumonia and the tech asked me when my last period was it took me a second to recite 10-8-2015. The tech then asked what I had done lol.
On that note, does anyone else have a baby who can't sit up on his own? E won't be 6 months until the 28th, but while I thought he was heading in the right direction with almost being able to sit a month ago, he can't do it now and doesn't even try. Just arches his back when we try to help him.
My guy does not sit up well yet and he was 6 months on sunday. He also has not rolled from back to belly. His sitting is somewhat improving but he only lasts maybe 10-15 seconds at most before failling over and that is only if I position him with a wide base and put a toy out front to keep him leaning forward.
rungirlrun Sam can only sit completely unassisted for a few seconds at a time. With our help he's good though so I'm sure it's right around the corner.
ginabini ever since I got the Mirena put in beginning of September I've been having short periods a couple times a month. It's been loads of fun
We still have a ton of snow on the ground and there's an ice storm supposedly going to hit in a couple hours and bring an inch or so of ice, so that's good. I was going to go to a baby and me group for the first time this afternoon but the storm is supposed to hit at the same time so I guess we'll just have to try again some other time. Also, Sam is teething hard right now and I feel so bad for him! The lower left tooth is just about out and has that look to it and the right one has moved up a lot so I think it'll be right behind. He's been a drooly, chewing, fussy boy since yesterday morning

rungirlrun L is also 6 months on the 28th and can't sit up. DS1 didn't sit until 7 months, so I'm not too concerned. Would be nice if he did, though! He gets a bit slouchy in his high chair.

Mine came back with a vengeance at 6 weeks PP. So bad I thought it was from delivery and there was something wrong. I'm FFing, and I know that makes a difference. I'm back on my regular birth control and my periods are back to normal now.
Had ds's 6 month. As I suspected he's gaining slow, about 1.5lbs since 4 months, and is now about 4th percentile. Pedi says 98% of the time it's a supply issue. We go back for a weight check in 6 weeks, so I've got those 6 weeks to figure it out.
I haven't gotten AF back yet and I'm really not looking forward to her coming back either. With DD1 I EBF and she came back at 6.5 months. My supply tanked afterwards and we started supplementing with formula the next month. FX she holds off longer this time.
We're getting better at sitting up over here but she's still not good enough for me to leave her and not worry about her toppling over. I think within the next week or so we'll be there though.
comicSans sorry about the weight check. I think we only gained a similar amount since the 4 month check up but Irene started at a higher percentile to begin with. But my pediatrician also kept asking all these supply questions which made me feel pretty crappy. Hang in there mama, he'll gain if you just keep offering whenever he seems hungry.
Thanks ellebelle. I'm looking for an Lc to get a better handle on whether it's supply or not and figure out what we can do. I'm not feeling too bad about it, just want to make sure I'm doing all I can for him.
