Recovery room: My blood pressure was in the toilet. This happened post spinal with DS as well. I was very lightheaded and actually still am somewhat. They gave me some epi to help, and it eventually did.
She was able to latch pretty easily when we first got there and nursed about 40 min on the right. Her blood sugar was 58 which is fine. Mine was 80 which was also fine.
They did her footprints and kept checking her vitals. We did a lot of skin to skin but she was getting too cold so they double wrapped her up before we went upstairs to postpartum.

We are both doing well. My parents got to come visit and also two of my girlfriends. Her blood sugars are still good and she's still latching well on the right. We're having trouble on the left but that's my problem side. I've been able to get out of bed once. Plan is to get up again one more time and then I get some sleep.
Congratulations, silvermelody! How are you feeling today?
I'm doing well overall. I let them take her to the nursery overnight so I got a three hour stretch of sleep and another 45ish after she came back and went again.
They had me up out of bed for the second time this morning, took out my catheter, I'm free to get up as needed now. My incision site hurts when I move or lean over but if I'm just sitting I'm okay. I'm getting IV Tylenol and Ibuprofen.
She passed all her blood sugars finishing around 10pm so they don't have to stick her before every feed now.
Still waiting to see the LC. Need to ask about that again.

My parents came to visit this morning and DH arrived about an hour later with DS. DS was not interested in the baby at all. He just wanted my stash of crackers lol. At least he wasn't super jealous of us holding baby? We'll see what happens when we go home.
They all left about fifteen minutes ago. Baby is getting her hearing test right now. OB was just in to check on me, plan is to go home tomorrow assuming we can get all the exams and whatnot done

I'm just putting everything here so I can easily copy it later.
Baby passed her hearing test. Plan is to go home today between 10-12. I was able to see the hospital LC and she gave me some latch pointers. I'm already getting a little sore on the right side but I think I was letting baby be lazy and suck my nipple back in wrong while she was sleepy. I started pumping the left side because I can't get her to latch there and hand expressing sucks. LC will hopefully come back today to help with the left. I also have my third party LC that I will meet with in a few days hopefully.
DH came back for the late afternoon/evening and baby girl just slept in our arms most of the time. I should have taken a nap!
PP hormones hit hard yesterday. I cried when they brought me a lunch tray with a type of sandwich I don't like (chicken salad, yuck). But also started getting overwhelmed when I was alone. It's so hard to get her out of the bassinet with my incision. I have to get out of bed every time I pick her up or put her down. They really need to figure out a sidecar bed for us c-section moms.
Baby went to the nursery from 12-3:15. I had a real hard time waking her up to eat. I got her to finally latch on the left though! Then she went back from 4:30-6:30 ish. She just came back and is still asleep. I was able to get into a deep sleep both times so hopefully I feel less stressed today.
My ass is super sore and I'm not sure if it's from the shitty bed or if it's from using it in weird ways to compensate for my abs. I'm also having nausea this morning which is not fun.
I started taking 5mg oxy for pain yesterday and I may need to up it before I go home. Just sitting I'm okay but as soon as I stand my pain is either a 6 or a 10 depending on how you look at it. (One nurse said ten was slamming your finger in a car door: that's definitely about where I'm at while standing).
Going to try and wake her up to feed her. Might not get to check in again until we go home (and then who knows??)
