On another note, it's taken me a while but I'm finally coming to terms with the fact that I really don't need to wash my hair daily. Dry shampoo can be my friend. I'm way too excited about this discovery, especially with baby #2 coming in March. I just always assumed dry shampoo wouldn't work well with my hair as it's thin and gets greasy really easily. I stand corrected!

You were washing your hair EVERY DAY? Mad props to you. Mine gets greasy fairly quickly, but I do every other day. Dry shampoo gives a blow-dry another day for me. I don't use it more than one day at a time because there are some concerns about it causing hair thinning.

Personally I think you can kind of train your hair. I go about 3/4 days between washes now depending on time of year and if I get sweaty and what not. I used to have to use dry shampoo in between. Then I just kind of stopped remembering to buy it. And my hair never looks greasy betweeen washes. So I think I've trained it and the oils in my hair to go longer between washes.
How bad would it be if I had Jimmy John's for lunch? I'm craving some Italian meat. I know deli meat is on the "bad" list, but I don't have much time and they're super quick. I'm 18 weeks today if that makes a difference?

Throw it in the microwave for 30 seconds and call it a day

Meh I've been eating deli meat this whole pregnancy. You have a greater chance of pickup up listeria from spinach than from deli meat.
That was my initial thought then I second guessed it and well, now I have a sub!
Speaking of second guessing: per our convo yesterday, all grandparents are getting TDap!
Nice! Hopefully no one fights you on it. I can't see why anyone would, but my friend's sister refused to do either TDaP or the flu shot (or both, I don't recall), and they made her wear a medical mask when she visited the first time days after birth. She hated it, so she went and got the shots immediately.

Ok someone tell me to stop feeling guilty.
-MIL bought our cribs very early on (10 weeks?). I assumed this was our big gift and we are soooooooo thankful. -My mom bought our bucket seats on Black Friday. They're supposed to be for our shower but she didn't want to haul them there so I already have them. -MIL was asking me questions about the multiples discount yesterday. I told her that you have to buy 2 identical things $50 or more each and then you get a discount. But there really isn't anything left on our registry more than $50 so I didn't think anything of it. -Today I get a notification that someone bought our convertible car seats. I'm sure it was her. I don't think she knows we already have the buckets from my mom. And I really only had the convertibles even on the registry so I would remember which ones and maybe we could get them with our completion discount. -Also Long story short, we realized a year or so ago that DH had been accidentally paying his sisters student loan for years. She was supposed to pay us back for that eventually but we don't press her for it. We're not in need of it or anything. Well MIL sent us a check last week covering all of what DHs sister owes us saying we need it because twins on the way!
I'm having serious guilt over how much she has been spending on us. They are not wealthy people. Just your average America household. She lives to spoil her grandkids. Do I just graciously accept and move on? Is it weird that I feel guilty about this?
mustloveerica, I would, being me (and therefore blunt), say something and make sure she knows that your super grateful but that it isn't necessary to keep buying things. I would only do it after you receive the seats and know who they are from. We got both of our convertibles from my place of employer at the time but we suspected it was from family until it was given to us.
Stop feeling guilty. Even if you do say something, some grandparents love spoiling their grandkids. It's just who they are

When she was asking me about the discount I said that she didn't need to get us anything else because we love our cribs. She said "oh nonsense". And she does have a history of going way overboard on gifts for her grandkids.
I told DH we should take all of the grandparents to a baseball game as a thank you for all of their help and shower planning and everything.

I totally understand your guilt. My MIL is the same way. They're not super wealthy either, but they do a LOT for their grandkids, and honestly, for their kids, too. Out of their 4 children, H and I and his one sister are the only ones who don't ask for or expect their help. H's other siblings routinely rely on their parents for big things. My MIL told me that she wanted to buy the really expensive dresser that we picked out for the nursery and I felt really weird about it, because that's just not the type of thing that we do in my family. My mom will buy the baby a few outfits and probably some cloth diapers. Maybe a big toy when he's older. Anyway, all of that I guess to get to my point, which is, I told H I didn't want them to spend so much money on a gift for Oliver, and he told me that his mother would be absolutely heartbroken if I told her that she couldn't buy it for him. I'm getting to the point now where I just try to make sure that she knows how much we really appreciate their generosity. They helped us last year (without prompting/asking) with something pretty big that I wouldn't have expected, so in addition to thanking them in person I sent a Greetable gift with a nice message about how much we appreciate their support and generosity. Maybe (once you confirm the seats are from her) just call her up and let her know that big gifts aren't expected but you appreciate them very much, or maybe send her some flowers or a fun edible arrangement as a thank you for going above and beyond.

+1 to this. My hair was getting so dry and it was because I was washing it too much. Now I wash it twice a week and it really looks fine in between washes even without dry shampoo. I'm also not currently working out, which does kind of shift things - and that's when I'm grateful that I'm a nurse and wear my hair up ;-)
+2. I "trained my hair" last year and it has really helped a lot--it grows better because I'm not heat styling it every day, and I save a ton of money on shampoo and conditioner. Now my routine is usually Day 1= Wash, dry, and style, Day 2= Style without dry shampoo, Day 3= Dry shampoo and style or pull back, Day 4= Sock bun, Day 5= Sock bun again if I'm reaaaaly feeling lazy, but usually start the cycle over again and wash.
I use the Amika dry shampoo and hairspray and I absolutely love it! I've also heard amazing things about the dry shampoo from Monat, but it's expensive.
mustloveerica - I agree with others. Wait to confirm they were from her, and then graciously accept while telling her you don't need anything else as she's been extremely generous.

This post gives me hope. Recommendations for dry shampoo?

Nope. My hair is dark, curly, and suuuper thick. My girlfriend uses and loves Amika too, though, and her hair is long, red, and wavy/straight. It's not really thin but definitely thinner than mine.
A few fellow S&D stylists are going crazy about Monat's dry shampoo right now, too. That stuff shows up in my newsfeed at least 10 times a day!

I'll play HDBD since I posted on J17! This was Sunday at 13+6, while I was out shopping for more bump-friendly clothing after my massive meltdown because I couldn't find something to wear to church. On a side note- this blush pink leather jacket is everything. I want to wear it every single day.

Thanks for all the hair advice, ladies. Sounds like I really do need to "train" my hair!
For what it's worth onesweetworld, so far, I've only used Suave's dry shampoo and it's worked out just fine for me. Out of all the recommendations I've found and gotten, it was the best rated, inexpensive dry shampoo. I have straight, thin hair.
I also don't really have any other dry shampoos to compare it to.
OMG akraus2015 , you are the cutest! I see that little bump starting to pop. How does your makeup always look so on point?!
Aw, thank you! I had some serious fights with pretty much everything in my closet...my regular clothes still fit, but they look short and funny over my belly now, so new shirts were a must.
I switched last year to all Bare Minerals makeup, which I really love..it gives my face a much smoother look. But also, PhotoWonder App.
onesweetworld - +1 to Suave dry shampoo. I can't always find it, and have tried Pantene's version (not a fan, plus it clogged up when it was still very full and I had to toss it) and also Not Your Mother's Clean Freak dry shampoo which was fine for two cans but the last one I had must have had one hole clogged and it started going everywhere.
