We've been up and down since 1a as our heat is out. Currently 60F and dropping, while it's -5F outside. Not so good for my now 4 week old. Lots of snuggles for him this morning
@happywigglecmb That's terrible! I hope you can get it fixed quickly. Does President's Day count as a holiday for that stuff?
Well, our "witching hour" seems to be getting shorter and shorter and has been ending with an awake and happy baby rather than her just passing out. Hopefully the witching hour will be no more soon! On a completely unrelated note, it's finally snowing here! I have an eye doctor appointment today and I'm contemplating using the weather as an excuse not to go, but really I just don't feel like going.
hazelnut, we called them at 1a to tell them the heat was out (we're in an apartment complex). A guy came and replaced the thermostat, claiming that was malfunctioning and the reason the heat didn't kick on. Woke back up around 3:30a, still cold. The temp keeps dropping in our apartment so we're all bundled up and baby is in what I hope are warm pajamas in his swing. It doesn't help that all the windows have a horrid draft, even the ones we attempted to seal up with plastic, and the ac unit (which they don't remove) is the worst culprit of the draft.. I'm really annoyed at this.

Good morning! Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
We tried BFing last night instead of using bottles. It went well! E didn't spit up too much, he slept as long as he usually does and he goes back to sleep so much better after he BFs! Today I need to get all of the breast milk in the refrigerator transferred into the freezer in case we keep this up.
Our heat is running but it can't keep up with the single digit temps outside (heat pumps are no good in this weather). It's 56 inside right now.LO and I slept upstairs in the guest bedroom where it's a lot warmer but right now we're bundled up on the couch. Snow and even colder temps on the way.
I hope you all stay warm and are able to get things fixed!
DH is working from home today because we were originally forecasted to get snow starting around 11am, but now I think it will just be rain.
All three boys are sleeping. DS2 just went back to sleep after nursing for 30 minutes. I definitely enjoy interacting with them when they're awake, but the introvert in me also enjoys the quiet time when everyone is sleeping.
lexishay I convinced dh to stay home today. He's been working 13 hr days incl saturdays that past 2 weeks. We had a great relaxing family day yesterday and I wanted it to last another day.

I got my first 5 hour stretch last night!!! Trying to get everything ready at our house for the oncoming snow (I'm in the south, so the 6 inches, ice, and sub-zero temps they are calling for will shut everything down for the week). Must go to the store, but it's going to be cray-cray
Lo is almost 3 months old and has lots of gas issues. Every morning 6-7:30 he squirms and grunts trying to pass gas. Or poop. He's not constipated since he has daily wet poopy diapers. I asked his dr last visit and she said he just doesn't know how to pass gas that he's figuring it out and that it doesn't hurt. I had bad gas before and after labor and it was painful. Either way he is pretty uncomfortable.
Wondering if anyone knows at what age this stops? Lo i
We got our first 5 hour stretch of sleep last night. But when we woke up her diaper was clean. She usually sleeps 4 hour stretches but always pees and/or poops during those 4 hours so now I don't know if I should be worried or not.

The weathermen didn't lie for once and we got snow! Yay!! I'd be off work today anyway (federal holiday), but I'm glad to be at home snuggling with LO. Wish DH hadn't gone to work, but now I get to hog the baby!!
Also - LO is one month old today. Where has the time gone?!
I have 4 little bears, just like my name says. 2 girls 2 boys ages 8,5,3, and my newest babe. 2 of my little bears have life threatening food allergies, feel free to ask me more about that!
Ice day! My DH wanted to go in but I convinced him to work from home. Now he's bitching because the kids are too loud and he needs absolute silence to work. Fine. Ugh. Kill yourself on the icy roads then.
A cluster fed like mad yesterday afternoon and evening and I thought I was losing my mind. When I put her down at 9 I prayed for at least one hour of peace. She needed rocked for half an hour or so but then slept until almost 3!!! I, of course, ruined it by waking up continually and being worried about her going so long.
Just found out my insurance covers Mirena 100%! The downside, I have to wait until March 18th to get it put in...ugh! I don't want to rely on breastfeeding and condoms for birth control methods, and I don't want to start the pill for only a month. I want sex darn it! But not the risk of getting knocked up again :-(

My furnace can't keep up with the -9 degree temp either. It's been running non-stop for 2 days. Looking forward to the $350 gas bill coming my way next month. Blah.
