I have no optimism for the day following O getting sick all night. I'll just see my way out until he's better and I've figured out how to keep E healthy.
It's 15 degrees and sunny here today. Cold but beautiful out. I'm gonna try to get out for a walk I think.
I was shocked...she's had some good stretches but not 9 hours. We were outside a good bit yesterday and I think the fresh air did everyone good. Enjoy your walk!!
waitwhat I had some major mom guilt yesterday too. A was tired and needy and was acting up every time I tended to the baby. There was a lot of crying in my house last night. It's hard to find a balance some days.
AFM, no big plans for the day. I should tackle the mountain of clean clothes that need to be put away.
I feel like H and I are in a good place right now. It's amazing what a date night can do for your relationship.
D had another really good night; 9:40-4:55 and then 5:20-8:30. This is like 6 days in a row now. I'm praying it lasts! She has her 2-month checkup at 11:20. I hope the shots don't throw us off too much.
danib hope you have a good day! I bet a walk will feel great. hangry I'm so sorry O is so sick

Morning ladies! Oh no hangry- thinking of your little guy and hoping he's on the mend soon. danib a walk is on our list today too. Supposed to be super warm ( high 30s LOL). dashook Hope D does ok with her shots today. We had ours Tuesday and he's still a little sleepy/cranky.
As for a positive thing, I think we've turned a corner with sleep. Regularly getting 5-6 hours at night (which doesn't touch the nights some of these babies have - wow!). Huge difference in my mood overall to be getting these stretches. Unfortunately my boobs haven't gotten the memo yet so if he sleeps more than 5 hours or so I still have to get up and pump or risk explosion.

Cant remember if we've talked about this (probably?) but just wondering what people have chosen for postpartum birth control? Abstinence is working great for us so far LOL. But it's time. Was supposed to get an IUD placed yesterday but my mom was late to watch the kids and I missed my appointment. Now I'm kind of chickening out (have never had an IUD)

Someone bought the coffee for 3 people behind them in line and I was the last one! Super nice. And I just found cards in some hospital paperwork from the nurses in L&D, so I wrote thank you notes to them and to my OB with a birth announcement.
I am worried that N has some nipple confusion with her wubbanub pacifier and it's causing a shallow latch. She doesn't really get a mouthful of boob anymore, seems to just latch onto the nipple. It doesn't hurt, but I'm dumb for just realizing this. Hoping I can get her taking more since I love that she falls asleep alone with the pacifier. There is a nursing group at the hospital tomorrow, but school is closed for the inauguration, so not going to take both kids to that.
Maybe I'll make pizza for lunch..The Costco frozen GF pizza is pretty tasty!
I really want some pizza now! I may have to somehow make pizza happen today.
Another quiet day around here with not much going on. I need to start filling out daycare paperwork for L and I'm going to attempt to hem a pair of work pants today, but first I need to get some thread from the store.

Condoms for the short term. I'm also on the fence about the IUD. We are 99.9% done with babies and I'd really like something that is more long term. I'm nervous because I've read a lot of horror stories.

shedreamsincolor We're just using condoms right now. My cycle seems to be going back to normal too so we'll likely just avoid during ovulation time.
All of this pizza talk is making me jealous. We're doing spaghetti squash tonight. The high today isn't quite what it was supposed to be but I'm still going to attempt to take Colin and Gracie for a walk today. And this house is getting messier every day instead of cleaner. We really need to get this place under control.

OK I have to share this madness. This first picture was taken at 5 days old. The second one was taken yesterday. I mean Mickey and Minnie must have shrunk, right?? He's definitely more sprawled out in the second picture but it's still crazy!
shedreamsincolor I had an iud (Mirena) after DS and loved it, and am getting another one placed. I didn't have any bleeding and my periods were basically nonexistent until I had it removed to start TTC. Insertion wasn't terrible...not much more uncomfortable than getting your annual. The one side effect I did experience after insertion was cramping, but Motrin handled it fine.

Abstinence lol! At some point once my cycle returns we will use NFP until TTC again next spring. If anything does happen before return of AF we will pull and pray. DH won't use condoms and I won't use hormonal BC, plus I'm terrified of an IUD. If I get pregnant "by accident" before next spring we are okay with that
Little Miss has been sleeping for hours since her shots. Poor little thing she just was up for about 10 minutes for a quick diaper change and nursing, then right back to sleep. I should use this time to do my workout but I think I will cuddle her and take a nap instead, and work out later.

I don't think I've properly checked in for a couple of days. So, remember when I was frustrated because Lillian wouldn't go to sleep? Well, she actually had an episode of this weird thing she gets when she's asleep. There's a fancy name for it, but essentially she has full body "hiccups" every 30 seconds-1 minute while asleep. It's benign, but does disrupt her (and our) sleep. This was the 4th time it's ever happened.
We've been pretty busy between playdates and running errands etc.
Re contraceptives: I'm on the mini pill. It's worked well for me in the past. When Lilah is 18 months we'll decide if we are done or not. If we are, he'll be getting snipped.
My good things: Lillian loves her dance class so much. It's adorable. And I bought an infant/toddler scale. Lilah has gained 1/2 oz a day the last week! Up from 1/3 oz when we saw the dr last week. I also did a weighted feed and she's taking in somewhere between 4 and 5oz at each feeding. I'll weigh her again next week to see where we are at. I'm hoping she stays the same or improves so we can avoid medication. I decided to try just eliminating the allergy medicine first.
Hi dashook. I'm good. E and I are both sick so we're having a lazy day (or week). At least I'm trying. I attempted to put E down for nap while hazel was in the rnp sleeping. E rebelled and then tried to sleep like this on the couch 5mins later
I have failed at parenting today. The tv has done the majority of it because O is only not crying when it's on or when I'm holding him. And obviousky E is crying when I'm not holding her too. And since I'm trying to keep them separated until he's not contagious, I can't hold them at the same time. I even have different clothes depending on who im holding. Thankfully he hasn't been sick since this morning, but has had a fever and still no appetite.
And especially thinking of you tgrimes1980. I'm glad you've been proactive enough to get on some meds. Have you found any other strategies that help ease the anxiety? Time to yourself? Writing lists to prepare for returning to work? Dry run of morning routines? Getting more help from H?
Hey tgrimes1980. I've been thinking about you...was planning on texting you today so I'm glad you updated and saved me from having to harass you Sorry you're having a tough time right now. You are missed and we are here for you if you need anything!
And AFM, I'm using the abstinence and then the dashook method of contraception. Just hoping to wait out another year and a half before I convince H we want another

All the love tgrimes1980! My nugget is a poop sleeper too. I'm refusing to think about crib and no swaddle. I keep saying three months for the crib, but it's approaching a bit too quickly.
Not failing hangry. Not even close. You've had to deal with wayyy too much sickness lately.

+1 to all of this. If I ever have sex again that is...
