FFFC1:I'm taking the babies to a brewery today.
Backstory: H is off this weekend (yay!) We met in a brewery in January of 2012. We have gone back each January to reminisce. I thought it would be fun to make it a family trip this year.
FFFC2: we also took our engagement pics at the brewery.
It's my birthday, I was really hoping dh would have made my cake already so I could have it for breakfast.
Dd has super regressed with her feedings. Barely taking 10min per breast before falling asleep and then taking over an hour to finish a 2oz bottle. I emailed her pediatrician since this is getting super frustrating and she had been doing so well. The newborn clinic was like, well if her latch is good just keep trying to wake her up when she dozes off. Like we haven't tried that!?

Happy birthday!
I'm sorry about your feeding issues. I have no advice but I am surprised they gave you that advice. When DS was in the NICU they told us that any feedings longer than 30 minutes makes the baby work too hard and wears them out. DS had to be able to finish 2 oz in 30 minutes before they would release him.
Have you tried taking off all her clothes and making her super uncomfortable?
I'm trying to clean my house. DS1 is trying to put me down for a nap. He made me take my glasses off, lay down and then gave me a kiss and whispered "I love you" 😂💙 sure kid I'd love to take a nap.

Just moved sleeping baby to my chest so I can TCF with two hands. Hiding out for another 40 mins until we leave to take S to her one month appointment. I'm going to talk to the doctor about her reflux and I'm interested to see how much she weighs because she feels chunky to me!
MIL has been here since Wed and leaves on Sun. She's marginally helpful and I feel like I have to entertain her instead of sleep.

@cahistoryteacher happy birthday!! Have fun requiressnacks!! That sounds like fun! Aww, @kc295905 isn't that sweet. Now you HAVE to take a nap! I'm avoiding it too littlelion. There's a parks and rec marathon on the esquire channel. Yaaaas.

+1 I left my house and I'm walking the mall in silence. I'm sickened that this is happening. I just keep thinking "oh my god, what did our country just do?"

Also @cahistoryteacher, DS got really lazy and would fall asleep sucking on the bottle but not swallowing anything. This was maybe a week ago. He just... stopped... after a while. That's a frustrating answer, I know, but hopefully your DD will be a more active eater for you!

Can a baby have reflux but be gaining weight and not having any kind of alarming poops? Or is that for food allergies?
Not sure. Our doctor said she may have reflux but she's gaining really well so it's more of a laundry problem. She said if it's making us miserable as parents, we can explore some different options, but otherwise she's fine.

Did you here back from the dr? Alex will sometimes not nurse very long. The hospital said to nurse on demand and let the baby stay as long or as short as he wanted on the boob. I even asked about the 15 min rule and they said that was outdated. My pedi did tell me to ensure at least 15 min. So, based on her recommendation, 10 min isn't too far off 15 min. Maybe when she gives you her cues that she's hungry wait a bit longer to see if that gets her more awake (mad but awake). The amount of time on the bottle does seem excessive. Nipple confusion?
littlelion, I don't think it's confusion she's been on breast and bottle since day one. Nothing from doc yet, but it's only 9:30 here. She did a little better at her last feeding. Hoping it was just an anomaly.

Good to know. I'm in the same boat, I think. I'll bring it up to the pedi if it's still happening at T's next appt

My house is a mess. I've kept it decent all week long and last night it just started to unravel. Starting with my toddler spilling his milk not once, not twice but three times. Both on the table and the floor. And I have no motivation to do any cleaning today.
How's your house cleaning efforts coming along @kc295905?

My husband got called into work tonight. There' will be no brewery today. Boo.
I hate MHs workplace. It's really not cool to make people go in on their days off with like 3 hours notice. Not to mention, I've been parenting around the clock since Tuesday. Grrrr.
I'm taking the babies to my friends house for a visit. No need to waste the fact that I took a shower and put real pants on.

requiressnacks that blows. Sorry your plans were ruined. Our first christmas together dh asked for a couple days vacation and we had plans to hang out and cuddle. At that time he worked nights. Lo and behold the first day as we're getting ready to go out, work calls him in. I was pissed. What screen printing emergency can't wait?
Have fun at your friends and hopefully your brewery day can happen tomorrow.

lastnamewithheld that is S exactly. No alarming poops, lots of spit up but still gaining weight. We just left her one month appointment (after pedi saw first hand how much she is spitting up) with prescriptions for Xantac and an ultrasound to make sure not any other issues. On way to hospital now.
requiressnacks that stinks! Hopefully you guys will get to do your family brewery pic soon.
littlelion sounds like you have a carnivore on your hands!
