Ugh so frustrated. B is back to giving me a blister of some sort on my right side. He just has such a shallow latch that it's irritating the nipple. I can't even see where the problem really is now, I can just *feel* that the boob isn't draining properly. I feel discouraged because he's almost 2 months old now and we should be beyond all these problems. Gah.
The pedi was only really concerned with his weight gain (which has been great). The LC said she thought the problem was more from OAL and less about a tongue tie. They gave me some tips on how to get him to open wider. The pediatric dentist said as long as he's feeding alright he wouldn't advise the revision.
When we get a good latch, I get really optimistic that we're on the right path, but one bad nursing session and my boob is in pain and I'm so down in the dumps. It's especially hard at night when I'm so engorged.
We did a new nursing position his morning (kinda uphill) and it seemed like he drained the problem spot, but it wasn't as good for the milk blister spot. I think I'm just going to have to keep trying out new positions until we find something that works. Sigh.
carrots and ellabee, H had a problem side until very recently too. We found that trying to keep the same position on the problem and good side helped. We did x-cradle on the left and d football on the right for 6+weeks. For him it was essentially the same latch on both boobs. Maybe try that if you haven't already?
I think he just grew out of the problem eventually. Hope it happens soon for you both.

My in-laws are in town this week (this is why I've been MIA since like, last Thursday). FIL is a weirdo about BFing, but much less so than he was 2 years ago when I was nursing DD1.
Anyway, he fed A bottle today.
This evening at dinner, he asked something about "isn't there some kind of concern with a baby starting to prefer a bottle..."
So, I responded that "sometimes that can happen, because it can be easier for a baby to get milk from a bottle, and they have to work harder at the breast. But since I have a hefty supply and a relatively forceful letdown, she doesn't have to work very hard to nurse."
And then he's like "whoa, way too much information."
We *finally* found our nursing groove. No more blisters or bad latches. Righty is healed and B has been doing great on it, even when it's super full. Fx it's smooth sailing from here. 😁
I was at a friend's house Saturday and another one of the girls there was also BFing her kid. Up until I saw her whip out the boob, I had been going to one of the rooms to nurse. By the end of the night I was playing Cards Against Humanity with W eating at the same time.
Ugggghhhhh L has started doing this awful hard clamping thing to stop the flow of milk when he's done instead of just popping off. My first did this and I still have a small indentation in the side of one nipple from once he got teeth. DNW. Anyone have any ideas?

So I just discovered that the battery pack from my PISA fits the spectra pump. Now I can pump on the go with out being plugged in if I needed! Hopefully it doesn't explode or something, but they both say 12v and it powered it on.
