My sons is the same but it is so useless because it still has the doors on and the three doors mean that 2/3 of the closet is always hidden. The rod is too high for him to reach. I think we will do this to his closet one day.... or not because he is ten and when we finally get motivated he will be going to college haha.

juliayadda that glider looks like the one I have my eye on. Where did you get it? I saw a grey one at BRU and am hoping I can find the same one in ivory or tan. It was soooo comfortable.

juliayadda we have that same furniture from ikea in a different color. It's held up really well and we plan to get one more crib and call the nursery good.

I got it at buybuybaby it is a Serra by Little Castle. I was really happy they opened one here because you couldn't really get little Castle chairs readily in Canada before. I couldn't find it on little castles website but it is just so comfy and is probably the nicest piece of furniture in my house lol.
ETA little Castle chairs can be ordered in like a ton of fabrics, colours and patterns.
I am loving all of these nursery ideas! AFM, I'm stuck and can't decide what to do. We have a 4th bedroom but it's our spare room / sewing room / catch all - laundry area. I'd rather have two of the kids bunk up. I have a DD (4.5) and a DS (2.5). We are Team Green. So do I double them by sex or age? I feel bad putting DD and DS in a room together. But I also would feel guilty having their sleep interrupted by having to share with the new baby (once he/she moves out of our room).

We're going to keep newbaby in our room until he/she is sleeping better than move them to DS's room regardless of sex. Their sex really won't matter until they are older anyway. There are so many cute ideas on Pinterest about doing boy/girl decorating. What if you used the spare room as a temporary nursery until you can evaluate who will work better roomed together?

I would put the older kids together for a little while and then switch along gender lines when your oldest is 6 or so.
Thanks amyface813 and juliayadda for your thoughts! We tend to keep our littles in the room with us until they're about 6 or 7 months old. So converting the spare room into the nursery, only to later convert it back, would just be a hassle that I don't feel like dealing with. (Seriously, I am so lazy this time around).
I'll have to go look into the boy/girl bedroom decorating. I can't believe Pinterest didn't even occur to me! Now, who wants to solve the problem of my 4.5 year old wanting to sleep only in my bedroom? Even if we move her from our room into her bedroom, she moves back to our room in the middle of the night. We wake up and there she is, at the foot of the bed.

No advice on the 4.5 year old... that is a sweet mental image though as long as she doesn't get kicked. My 2 year old likes to sleep on my face when he comes into bed with us. Much less cute...
amyface813 : She used to come to the side of the bed and stand over you while you were sleeping. You'd wake up to this person standing over you, breathing heavily. It scared the shit out of me. Thankfully, that stopped!

When is it time to order nursery furniture? Should I be doing that now?
According to me yes. lol But mine was in stock at Ikea, I have heard it taking up to two months to get ordered in? I would say it depends on where you order from. If you ever see it on sale that is definitely the time to order!

We FINALLY made some progress on the nursery. My sister and I got two coats of paint done today, and my MIL surprised us and bought all the furniture!! It should all be here next weekend...it's getting real!! I also ordered some decor from Etsy so I can start hanging things once the furniture is in. Still need a few shelves, the rest of my crib bedding, a rug, and a few other things, but the big stuff is coming along!
So I guess I shouldn't wait for the completion discount to order my crib...? I'm getting anxious but the one I picked is pretty pricey.
Agree that if you're also planning on a PnP, RnP or bassinet you don't need the crib right away, plus is the one you want in stock/how long does it take to ship, will also factor in.
Eta also when you put your due date for the registry since that affects when they give the coupon if you're feeling impatient - when I signed up for freebies I bumped my EDD up so stuff would arrive earlier.

That's an excellent idea! I found one on Amazon so I didn't look to see how long it takes.
I don't like matchy-matchy furniture sets so I'm getting a cool vintage dresser to go with it. I just want to start decorating!!!
AmazingTulip I LOVE the little animal prints. My BFF's sister does watercolor paintings and I've commissioned her to do a ton of them for me for the nursery. Can't wait.
I spent hours looking at different nursery bedding and finally found some from Dwell Studios that I'm obsessed with, and it is taking ALL of my willpower not to buy them before the shower. I NEED TO DECORATE.
