Hi friends! So we've been working on trying to wean DS this past week. He's down to about 1-2 nursing sessions. I'm having crazy nursing aversions so after many, many crying sessions I told DH what was going on and he told me that we should work on weaning him so he's taken the bedtime routine and any MOTN wake-ups. It's actually gone pretty good. The first 2-3 nights were hard on DS and me, but he seems to be going down a lot better at night and has even STTN a few times now. I'm hoping to have him weaned sometime in February, but I'm trying not to rush him too much.
nemomof2 I'm thinking of you and hoping those contractions start moving right along!
ourcrazynavylife 28 weeks already?! ashlantic toddlers are the best. Mine had a hissy fit and chucked a car track at DH yesterday at 5 am because we wouldn't let him take out the vacuum. littlelion yay leo!

Here we don't have much new going on. B has been pretty fun lately. I love that we can have a conversation now, but sometimes I don't need his opinion I really want to take away the pacifier he still gets for nap and bedtime, but he's finally been sleeping through the night for the last few months and I'm scared to mess it up! Hope everyone is doing well!!
Hi ladies! Sorry I'm so late to check in this week.
kcrus woohoo for AF! sgio7485 happy birthday to Leo! BabyStandish FX for the rest of the weaning to go smoothly and for you to get a few more of those full nights of sleep before 2.0 arrives! nemomof2, sending you lots of good, happy labor vibes (just not in a snowstorm!).
Things are pretty good here. DS has been a stage 5 clinger all week and it's really irritating, but he's so darn cute and funny lately that I forgive him quickly lol.
Baby lady is getting big (13 lbs 3 oz at her 2 month appt last week) and cuter every day. She sucks at napping during the day but is a good and sometimes amazing sleeper at night so I can't complain too much
AFM I just finished Day 10 of a 15 day challenge designed for pregnant and nursing moms and I love it. It feels so good to be taking care of myself again. And I lost over 5 lbs in the first week! I still have a long way to go but for now I'm really enjoying putting all of my leftover energy and focus (after the kiddos) into this.
Ugh. Poor lo will be sporting a pretty fat lip tomorrow. He bit his bottom lip this morning and then right before bed he fell and split his top lip. We ended up letting him have a popsicle for snack just so we could ice his lip without him constantly pushing away the frozen teether. Other than that it was a good day. Stayed home and hung out with my little man.
I finished reading that Marie Kondo book about "tidying up" and started the decluttering process today. I started with my clothes and realized how much stuff I was hanging onto because it fit prebaby and I was determined to get back into it. Even if I do lose the 10 lbs I would like to, my body has changed shape and it's time to finally get some clothes I feel good in.
nemomof2 oh no, sorry you guys are snowed in. If I could take some of the snow for you, I totally would. We've had some variation of rain/freezing rain/fog for so long now. It's sooo dreary. Hope the contractions have either eased up for now or that they get things moving along. ourcrazynavylife 28 weeks already?? I feel like time is flying by for you! BabyStandish hugs to you. Good luck as you wean. I'm glad yh has stepped in to help. sgio7485 he is the cutest!! Happy belated birthday to your little guy. Love that quilt in his pictures. So cute! How's speech going for you guys? kcrus yay!!! reginaphalange3 thanks! And fwiw, I was terrified of taking the pacifier away at bedtime. We ended up doing it cold turkey because he had a lot of irritation in his face and we figured the pacifier wasn't helping matters. He looked for them the first night and the first nap, and then just accepted they were gone. Good luck! dashook glad things are going well for you!

Thank you! The quilt is actually a combination of regular fabric and some of DHs and my baby clothes- my aunt made it for my shower! We have his re-eval 2/16 for speech. It's slow and steady. He has a good amount of words, but I don't think anyone other than us can truly understand much. His articulation is pretty poor. Hoping he gets picked up again- his receptive language is sky high, expressive is not- he also is incredibly inattentive. Speech therapist thinks he will get picked up, so I'm hopeful. Also looking into getting him into the early intervention play groups they run! Thank you for asking!
dashook leo has been trying to crawl back where he came from for two weeks now. I'm blaming teeth?!! Sorry for the clingy baby! ashlantic oh no! Poor baby! Hope he's ok! reginaphalange3 we are still nighttime binky addicts. Honestly, mine struggles so much with speech and that is his only comfort. He only has it in his crib, his lip tie has made it so he will absolutely need dental work in the future, and he hates stuffed animals. Binky will be sticking around for awhile **please no one judge me! I always said I would NEVER be that parent... kids change things!

So much this. One of my goals for 2017 is to overhaul my entire wardrobe. I need clothes that are flattering to my new body (wider hips, rounder tummy, etc.). I don't care so much about what size my new clothes are. I just want to feel good and confident in them.
sgio7485 yes the teeth are definitely a factor! He has been working on his 2 year molars for over a month now. The ones on the left popped through in December but the right side ones are still under the gums. I wish they'd hurry up!
Also we are binky lovers here. No judgment at all. DS uses one at naptime and bedtime, and in the car if we're going more than 15-20 minutes away. Lately I have been soft on his daytime use of it because of the teeth though. I figure we'll actually put in some work to wean him from it later this year. With the new baby's arrival I had and still have no desire to rock the boat with any of his routines or crutches for several months!

Yup. I told dh that even if I do lose the weight, my hip bones aren't going back to where they used to be. Lol

Phew! I feel super judged by my real life peeps so it always makes me nervous to share he still has one. His is a wubbanub and it has the attached monkey , so for him he takes the tail and rubs his cheek to go to sleep. He sleeps 12 hours a night and I don't want to change that!

sgio7485 Oh gosh, no judgement here! I don't want to mess up his sleep either, and he loovveesss his pacifier! I am just going to try to get him off it (he has a little rash around his mouth that comes and goes, like you were saying, ashlantic) but if after a few days he's not accepting (aka sleeping) the new paci-less lifestyle I will probably cave and try again later in the year. I would love to get rid of it as soon as I can, but I'm not ready to fight too hard yet.

BabyStandish yes, it's the first attempt at getting him to sleep in his room. At some pt I'll stop the rocking and just sit in the chair until he falls asleep. Fx. ashlantic bedtime is hit or miss. A miss every time I need to bring alex in to nurse...like now. Grrr. Dh has helped a couple times but Leo really cries for me.

Also I want a new wardrobe too!!! I have so many things from prebaby that just don't fit well and most things that do fit are getting worn out from wearing and washing at least once a week! I wish it was in the budget to just throw out everything and start over!

Yeah, that rash was the only reason we did it over the summer. It was just SO bad and not getting better. That and we'd have an insane amount of pacifiers in his crib and he'd still freak out motn that he couldn't find them. Made me crazy. Now we've replaced his pacis with a ridiculous amount of stuffed animals. The other night he woke up crying and when I tucked him back in he freaked out saying "Pete missin, Pete missin!!!" So I had to stumble around the house at 3 AM looking for Pete the Cat.
