I've never looked forward to a Monday more. We spent all weekend moving and cleaning and my inlaws were here to "help". They just got in the way and unpacked random boxes while searching for things that they needed to make their stay more comfortable. DH spent the majority of his days off arguing.
Now the inlaws have gone home, DH is back to work, and I can finally unpack and enjoy our new place. And we saw a moose out of back window this morning!

Last night was organize and sanitize toys night. We do this once a month, or if J or one of her friends were sick. This also includes deep cleaning the living room. It looks so beautiful and was destroyed within ten mins. We started giving "chores" over the weekend. Just feeding the pets, putting laundry in hamper and putting clean clothes away, and picking up toys. She loves the responsibility. We have 18m appt today(a month late) and J has been feeling pretty icky, so hopefully we can get her feeling better. We are supposed to start potty training tomorrow, but will hold off if she's still feeling bad.

pghtruelove, DS' "chore" is feeding the dog as well, and we've been trying to get him to help pick-up his toys at least a few nights every week as well. It's hit and miss in terms of effectiveness, but it's so cute when he does a good job and he's so proud of himself!
As for me, I've been scrambling all morning trying to catch up on work since I was sick Thursday and am normally out Fridays. There's some big changes coming this year in my office, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll all turn out to be positive ones!
I made a breakfast casserole yesterday night to eat in the mornings this week and it was SO nice to have a hot breakfast today!
that's actually a great idea that I'm going to steal next week! I actually saw a recipe that you make in muffin tins with egg, spinach, turkey bacon and such in them. This reminded me of it. I need a new breakfast idea for the kids and I.
As for us, speech path and outdoor play since temps are still great. Taking advantage
I used to make these all the time, so yummy and easy! I need to start doing it again!
Pretty quiet day here today, which makes up for the non stop (but fun!) weekend we had.
Which means my mind has had some time to think about our house and what we need storage wise/organizationally in a couple rooms (ours and the playroom specifically) to clean up some "trouble" areas (youknow those spots you just throw things that don't otherwise have places) and make a better space for us in general. Sometime we'll get there, but at least I started thinking about what we could do finally!
sugarkissed that's awesome! Good luck unpacking! Your place looks gorgeous. We also live in a high moose population area and I thought for sure I'd have them by my backyard sometimes. I either miss them or our house just isn't on their route. Oh well. We get deer instead I guess lol.
Monday is starting off pretty good. The weekend was great. We finalized our kitchen cabinets and picked out our appliances so everything should get ordered this week. And yesterday we went to a play date in the city hosted by June and January, which was really fun. And I'm looking forward to the upcoming weekend because we have our annual trip to Tahoe with my family. I have Friday off and overall it should be an easy week at work, mostly just training.
Right now I'm just drinking tea, listening to Justin Timberlake music, and waiting for my trainer to get in the office.
LO likes being a helper too. My favorite thing to ask him to do is to throw something away in the trash can for me. However, now he has started throwing some of his favorite toys in there as well. I've caught them all so far, I think, but this worries me.

T also loves throwing things away. Lots of things. I check the trash frequently for "mistakes."

I'm on a "shopping deals" roll! I just scored DD Hunter rain boots from Janie and Jack for $29, and yesterday at target I got a Britax Marathon for $81 (technically for $30 because I had a $50 store credit left from her birthday) Plus Honest diapers that are buy 1 get 1 50% off with a cartwheel deal of 10% off on top of that. So I got 2 cases of diapers for $34.

DD has "chores" too. She helps switch out loads of laundry, pushes the laundry baskets from room to room, helps feed the dog, and throws any and every thing away. She thrives on being a helper- she always asks for "more" after she's done doing whatever you asked her to do.
DD is eating like a teenage boy lately. Today she's had 2 waffles, a hard boiled egg, gold fish, a squeeze pouch, a banana, a piece of salami, a piece of cheese, and some mango. All before 12:30pm.

I'm home with DS who got kicked out of day care with a fever. Then I find out a kid in his class had rsv, so coupled with his cough and his breathing being off, we've earned ourselves a trip to the doctor in a bit.
My sister's advice to my sleep woes with my teething child is to sleep train my cats. Meow it out, anyone?
#random comment of the day
I would love to know the reasoning here.
There is none. It was only in response to me telling her we'd had three bad nights with M's teething. Her logical response was to advise me that if I'm feeding my cats in the MOTN because they're meowing, I should condition them to stop. THAT is why I'm always tired. For the record, I can barely follow this conversation, haha.
jillywilly, her picking up toys is usually me picking up and her putting one toy in the toy box. 😂 we'll get there.
If you have Spotify both my kids respond to this song called '5 minute clean up'. It's a hip hop song where a dad raps about his kids never cleaning. When they hear it they start pushing all their toys back to the toy room. It works 80% of the time but at least it's a start.

Other than that they just have a big Black Friday sale, mark things down when they're being discontinued, and random sales that sell out pretty quickly. A lot of times the CEO will do bundles (samples, or extra inventory they've found, or photoshoot clothes) on the B/S/T page on facebook. You have to be super quick to score one but they're always at killer prices.
