So, our neighbors across the street have two female dogs. They have a fence, but neighbor has admitted to not putting their collars on because they "have been doing so well." Guys. These dogs are in my yard. All. the. time. and they're aggressive towards our dog. They chase her and snarl, luckily she's much faster than them and is able to run off. She doesn't engage.
A little bit ago I let her out and started making lunch. She usually barks to be let back in, so I started towards the door thinking I heard her. As I got closer, I heard mean barking and snarling and when I opened the door, neighbor's dog took off while my dog limped back towards the house. She whined a little and was holding her paw up. Now, she's a little bit of a drama queen anyway (especially for me), but I have no doubt she got nipped or twisted it while they were scuffing. I'm pissed. I can't wait to move out of here.

britta, if your neighbors can't take a hint, I'm with penguin129, call animal control. My mom's neighbors did the same thing and their dog starting hanging out with a stray. The dog would try to distract you so the stray could sneak up and try to bite you. Not cool.
That's where things get a little dicey. We live in a small development in a rural area and most everyone with dogs here don't keep them fenced or on leashes, ourselves included. I'd be lying if I said our dog has NEVER wandered to a neighbor's yard, but 98% of the time she sticks around here or in the woods behind the house. So. I feel like I can't say anything. But it's to the point that we can't even play fetch with our dog. They come barreling across the street and start harassing her. It makes me nervous when DS1 is outside, not because they take an interest in him, but because they get to chasing the dog and none of them have any awareness. They've come really close to knocking him over. And he gets upset thinking they're going to hurt his dog.

So with this heatbeat bill, can I retroactively collect life insurance for my three miscarriages after 6 weeks? Take bereavement leave? Claim them as dependent for tax purposes for the year? Use HOV when pregnant?

THANK YOU. I'd like to jump on that train as well.
For the record, I am ONE MILLION PERCENT pro-choice. Like others said, being pro-choice is not pro-abortion, it's just having OPTIONS and knowing abortion is one of them and you literally can't make that decision for anyone else ESPECIALLY if you've never been in a position to face it as an option.
I have SEVERAL "friends" who decided to be one-issue voters this past election re: abortion and it INFURIATES ME.
Oh no becole! I'm so sorry. You are having such a rough week.
britta How's your day been going? Are the kiddos getting any better since your last update? I know it was this morning, but forget.
Ok, thanks. We saw the doctor a little after 2. DS1 definitely has an ear infection, so antibiotics for that. She listened to DS2 as a courtesy and says he sounds a little better than when she saw him Friday, so FX he'll keep making progress and avoid whatever crud DS1 has.
becole gah. So frustrating. Hope he feels better quick.

Sorry for all the sick kiddos, my Jan13 group has also been hit, influenza, stomach bugs, croup, ear infections, you name it.
DS is a grump today and won't nap more than 10 minutes at a time. DD is acting out because I'm not paying enough attention to her. Is it bedtime yet? Not that it's really a break since DS is still up every 2 hours.
Oh becole so sorry for ds1s fever. I hope you can quarantine enough.
I took him to the doctor. He's negative for the flu but his lungs don't sound great. He has bronchiolits. Maybe rsv she said.
Bronchiolitis and RSV are commonly used interchangeably because RSV is the most common virus that causes bronchiolitis. IME (from two kids who've had it and one who was hospitalized), they only test kids who are high risk (preemies and kids who are immunocomprimised) because otherwise the treatment is the same.

He's he it before. I just hope I can keep it away from the little. I'm doing humidifier, Vicks on feet, Delsum, Tylenol, juice. Am I missing anything?

Saline spray/drops if he's congested maybe? It all sounds about right, though both my kids were 3 months old.
Oh and maybe Motrin. I find Motrin keeps fever at bay better than Tylenol, but I do alternate them for pain control.
You can elevate the head of his mattress too. It's all just supportive symptomatic treatment. And watching for resp distress, dehydration, etc.
He sleeps on a pillow but I may prop him up more. His breathing is definitely fast but she said she thought he was getting plenty of oxygen and to bring him back if he has other symptoms or still has a fever in 4 days. Weird thing is that he didn't have a fever at the doctor.
becole kids are never as sick at the doctor. FACT. FFFC: I no longer medicate (with the exception of DS1's emergency inhaler) my kids before going to the doctor because inevitably I get, "Well he doesn't have a fever NOW" or "He looks pretty good right now" No shit Sherlock. Come on.

He didn't have any meds but you can look at him and tell he's sick. He told my H "I sick daddy."
I already had a half day scheduled at work because DD2 has an orthodontist appointment later, but schools are closed today, so it's turned into a full day off.
My girls were in the breezeway, happily playing Xbox, so I decided to watch Outlander and of course they decided to stop playing and come into the living room. So much for indulging in my favorite show. And DD2 is in a foul mood. Awesome.
Have you read the books? I listened to 3 of them on Audible while bouncing #1 non stop my first maternity leave. (This tells you how sad my life was bc they are 40 hours long) I haven't really watched the show but the books are really really good.
Yes, I've read all of them and it's my favorite series of all time. I'm slightly obsessed. I even have a Sassenach decal on my car window. I started re-reading them again last year and I'm on book 5, The Fiery Cross, which is very slow to get into and is my least favorite, but once you get through the first part (which is very long) it gets better. They are doing a fabulous job with the show. I love it all.

I stopped halfway through the one that is in America. It might be that one?
