spikesmom that's not pathetic at all, it must be so hard to work from home and not just snuggle the baby all day! I figured out a budget where I could stay home and quit my job and when I told my H about it he wasn't really on board....so frustrating. I understand we would need to make sacrifices but to me it would be worth it. He also said it is important for me to get out of the house, ya I can still do that being home! I just wish we could be on the same page

H didn't wind up having to work at all over the weekend. That made me (well, both of us) happy.
M is still sick... But he's sleeping sooo much with this cold that I can't complain a terrible amount. I'm feeling better so hopefully he's on the mend soon, too.
I'm off work today but still sent DS to daycare so I can get stuff done around the house. I have like 2384732 loads of laundry to do.
I sort of mentioned this in yesterday's randoms thread, but we're trying to transition DS to his crib and it's not going so well. We originally tried right after he started at daycare about 2 weeks ago. His first night he did wonderfully (only woke up once or twice), but then the very next day he got sick with RSV so we moved him back into our room. Now we're trying to get him back in the crib. He sleeps between 30 minutes-1 hour before waking up. We let him fuss for a few minutes to see if he'll go back to sleep, but he doesn't. And then within minutes of us going in and picking him up, he's back asleep.
Any tips? We have him swaddled, room temp is between 69-71. We don't have a white noise machine but are thinking of getting one, even though he sleeps perfectly fine in our room without one. The last 2 nights after the 4th or 5th time of him waking up, we've just given up and put him back in our room in the RnP. It's really frustrating.
jessa1228 I don't have any tips but will be interested to see what works for you, we are experiencing the same thing! It's so hard because she sleeps so well in the rnp

Same here! DS was sleeping 8ish hours straight in the RnP before he got sick. Now, he wakes about every 3 hours. Still longer than in the crib though. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with him still being congested. We're running the humidifier and using the nose frida, but they only do so much.

jessa1228 - you may want to try wrapping his blanket in a warm pad (I used one of those rice bag things you put in the microwave). Then hold lo for at least 20 minutes once asleep. Transition to warm blanket/bed. My lo transitioned to the crib pretty easily ... However I can't for the life of me get him to nap in it during the day. Good luck!

That's definitely us. Well, me at least. My husband always gets her to nap in the crib, but I'll just let her nap in my lap. Probably a bad precedent, but standing is hard. I have an adorable picture of her passed out on my lap but it won't upload in the app.
All these posts about LOs not transitioning well to cribs are making me nervous! We had originally put DD in her PNP to sleep, but she didn't like it at all, so we moved her to her RNP. Now that she's been doing better in that for a few nights, we want to start trying the PNP again during the days. Hopefully it won't be a disaster since she's starting to get a little long for the RNP.
kfaye, that's so frustrating! I hope you and your DH can come to an arrangement that works for both of you well soon! Would he agree to you going part time?
wildflower810 my lo is still sick as a dog too. How many days are you on? We are on day 5. He screams bloody murder when I get any nose sucker near him so I'm hoping it ends soon :/
Most buisnesses and schools are closed down in our area because we got hit with an ice storm. We haven't been to the grocery store in over a week as everyone has been sick. I may make a trip out to get some ingredients to make green chili. I need the vitamin c and spice to keep healthy. I may also grab a single can of Guinness....
kaimee27 I think he would, the hard part would be finding DC for 2 days a week. Our current place will let you do a minimum of three days a week. My mom can watch her one day but getting the other one covered is hard. I could just pay for three days and only have her there two but the budget works better with no DC cost at all....ugh it's stressful!
We just got direct tv this weekend and the snow here is already messing with the signal. My H told me to go outside and brush off the snow from the dish with a broom.....fun. Lord knows I can't go without my stories though so I'm going to try it!

hope everyone who is sick or has sick LO's feels better soon!
Henry is getting sick, he's coughing and has a runny nose. poor baby, you can see it in his eyes that he doesn't feel well. He's still pretty happy though, talking up a storm. hopefully this passes quickly, I hate seeing little man sick.
DH and I are having huge problems with his work. They work him to death and he barely gets to see me and Henry (which I know is killing him). He was supposed to have today off and they took it away from him, told him LAST NIGHT. It's really a good thing my mom watches Henry and doesn't mind short notice. It's really taking a toll on our marriage too. We never see each other, and when we do we're both too tired to even interact with each other much (I also work a weird shift that takes up the entire productive part of the day 11a-7:30p). We don't have the same days off because they'll never let him have a weekend, or even part, off. The last time his family came in to visit, he saw them for 2 hrs and they were here for 3 days. Granted, my in-laws give about a week's notice sometimes, but its been insane. He's trying to work it out with the big manager to have more structured hours, and for help because he can't run every shift because none of the other managers want to be there (and the acting GM is hourly). Sorry for the rant. It's been super stressful, yesterday in particular. I feel like I can't even think straight from the stress right now, I can't imagine how he's feeling.

tacocat Henry has been doing the same, I had to suction his nose twice this morning before we left and it did not go over well.
kfaye be careful, its so cold outside! I'd probably be afraid I'd knock it over haha. since we've had a direct tv, which we love, we only had problems with no signal one time. I think it was during the Superbowl when we had a really horrible snow storm out here. I could watch anything I had previously recorded, but not live tv, which kind of sucked but they got it working after a few hours. If that doesn't help I'd call them to see if they can resend the signal, sometimes that helps.
ashleymm197 good call, I'll try it once and if it doesn't work I'll call them. I thought that the snow wasn't really supposed to effect it too much so maybe it's on their end.

my cousin just had her membranes stripped, today is her EDD. I've been kind of helping her out as far as information and support, this is her first baby (a girl!). Her and her husband do not have any kind of experience with babies, they are complete nervous wrecks (not even exaggerating) about being parents. I'm not an expert with my one baby by any means, but I'm the oldest of 6 so I'm at least not afraid of them. They're going to be awesome though, I keep telling them once the baby is here they will gain some confidence before leaving hospital, and they have so much family wanting to help them that they'll be alright.
she sent me a FB message wanting to know if she could ask a TMI question, I wanted to be like, nothing scares me anymore, go ahead! We're hoping this kick starts her labor, she has a scheduled induction for the 23rd but is really wanting to avoid it and have her come out on her own.
keep her in your thoughts, I just hope she has a smooth delivery, when it finally happens haha, and both her and baby girl are ok.

ashleymm197, That is so hard with your DH's work situation, I'm sorry! I hope something resolves soon.
tacocat, I'm not exactly sure. The cold came on slowly and I got it first. Things are looking up this morning (well, er, afternoon) now. The nosefrida is only helping so much, so I'm kinda just letting him battle out the congestion on his own. We elevated his bed last night and he slept like a rock and didn't snore, so we are keeping it elevated until he's totally better!
Heading out to the grocery store in single degree weather. I thought about getting M dressed... but I think he's going to rock the fuzzy PJs today.
ashleymm197 I was so nervous about caring for the baby before she came because I had no experience with it before and you really do gain so much confidence in the hospital, that was great advice. My friend just had her baby girl last week and started contracting the morning of her induction and ended up not needing it. I think once the stress of 'when will it happen' goes away you are able to relax and your body does its thing! Good luck to them!
wildflower810 good for you for getting out of the house in bad weather, I'm really bad about that
I wish health to sick little ones, easy crib transitions, good signals to tv's, more compatible schedules, and smooth deliveries to ftm! This is my last day at home, and I'm trying to enjoy it. I wish I hadn't scheduled appointments for this day!

thank you ladies for your support, it means a lot to me. DH and I are going to be scheduling some serious us time, which will at least help us out despite the work problems.
kfaye you're right! I think once I let go of just wanting him to come out, the contractions really started amping up---I had my membranes stripped and it set me right into labor less than 36hrs. I told her I hope many contractions in the next coming days!
my boss just came into the office, I told her I had reprinted the training certificates she needed, and she said she needed one more thing of me. is it bad my stomach dropped? not sure why, but I have some dread for some reason. I need to calm my nerves, I know its most likely nothing!
I think I let the baby overeat if you can do that with breast milk. She slept through a feeding yesterday afternoon and then woke twice in the MOTN which she doesn't usually do at all. This morning she had two big spit ups and two very dirty diapers in a row. Including the dirtiest diaper I've ever seen. Poor little girl
I'm snowed in with a teething baby... He was already cranky all the time but it's now 10 times worse. Usually getting out helps him, but with the governor declaring a state of emergency we aren't going anywhere.
Wow, it's a quiet day over here! I hope everyone has stayed safe with the weather!
That means that we've all had busy days... I hope they've been a good kind of busy! M has been sleeping all weird. I'm blaming his cold, and hoping it's not a weird growth spurt or something. The long nap he started at 6 pm had better not mess up the trend of good nights that he has going on...
Busy day over here. H is on another trip. My dad came to my house to try to help with something but got stuck in a big snowdrift and now we are waiting for a tow.

Hi! Had my IBCLC come over today and evaluate my LO's latch since we had the lip/tongue tie lasered off. I'm so proud -- she transferred just shy of 3 ounces during the feed. She only transferred 1 ounce before!
