Morning! Lazy Sunday here. H and X are both napping. I'm making a video of X's first year. I figured since we're not having a party and I don't get to do all the fun 1st party planning, I'm going to spend my time doing this instead. I'm definitely not crying.
tkford216, I hope this is a healthy and uneventful pregnancy for your friend. I also hope people keep their mouths shut.
I think I might make that stew tonight, kellybenelly83! Pending I get the motivation to get to the grocery store...
It' was pretty delicious over Brown rice. Ryan stole a bunch of mine.

Mellow-ish Sunday over here. Pancakes for breakfast, yum. I've done 3 loads of laundry and have chicken tortilla soup in the crock pot for supper. DH fried fish for him and DS for lunch (yuck). Babe is napping and DS and DH are in one living room, and I'm in the other. I'm going to cozy up and read for awhile.
What's your recipe this sounds like a winner. We have been trying to do crock pot meals on Wednesday because of swimming lessons.
It's a miracle. After almost a year and a half of practically begging DD to eat anything with chicken, and her refusing, she finally started eating chicken again. I figure daycare has something to do with it, as I stopped pushing it on her for a while.
Anyway, I'm at work tonight. And all our bathrooms are closed due to water line maintenance. It's going to be a long shift.

Here it is, it's pretty easy and basic! I made a couple changes though. I wanted to add black beans and corn. So, at the step when you take the chicken out to shred it, that's when I added a can of black beans (drained and rinsed) and a can of corn (drained). I wasn't sure if they'd get too mushy if I added them at first with everything else.
Since I added those, I just added a bunch more chicken broth to make sure it was plenty soupy. And since I added more broth, I added more cumin, and also some paprika and chili powder.
I didn't do tortillas, I like to crunch up tortilla chips kind of like crackers in my soup. And I also garnished with sour cream and cheese (no avocado).
S is clearly not feeling well. She was super crabby during dinner so afterwards we went into my room where it is quiet and she fell asleep nursing. Only slept for a little while but then was super clingy to DH after. I nursed her for a little bit at 8:30, but she kept kicking her legs and moving her arms so I stopped. I let her play on the floor for a while and then I was just holding her and watching tv. The next thing I know she was asleep, which never happens ever. I hope she's feeling better in the morning. I forgot until about 1:00 this afternoon that I had agreed to watch my nephew tonight while my sister went to a going away party for her friend. H & B are sleeping on the floor in her room in sleeping bags. Bedtime actually went much better than I expected.
We went on our date and the babysitter was awesome. Even more awesome was the fact that V waited till literally the minute we got home to unleash a storm of projectile vomit. If we had come home just a few minutes later the poor 16 year old would have had to deal with that (and we likely would never have seen her again)

Love tit for the date night, not the vomit. Well, maybe for the timing of the vomit?
