I went to see the OB today. Talked about my bad back and she wants me to get one of those maternity support belts. I'm disappointed because I had one with DD but barely got to use it since I couldn't exactly walk around work with a big white thing on my belly. Not sure how much it will help me to wear it around the house but hopefully it'll help a little. OB doesn't want me to go to the chiropractor during pregnancy since I've never gone before. My only other option is physical therapy. Bummed.
I also found out today that instead of doing 5-1-1 when labor starts like with baby #1, since this is baby 2 they want me to call L&D as soon as I've been having steady contractions for an hour, regardless of if they're 10 minutes apart of 5 minutes apart. Not good, because the people we're having take care of DD when I'm in the hospital (my ILs) live an hour away, so I'll pretty much need to just magically know somehow that this is the real deal and we need to call my ILs right away. Or else take DD to the hospital with us and have them meet us there. Not sure what we'll do.
I have a pregnancy support belt and I wear it under my clothes...not understanding why you can't wear it at work?

The one I had with DD had to be worn over clothes, maybe I need to find another one. That would solve my concerns.
The weather has taken a turn for the worse after having sunny skies in the 60's (F°) for the past couple days. I'm fine with it, though. It's laundry day, and I have nothing to wear.
DD is having a terrible day. Her lack of speech has really been frustrating her lately. She spent a good 5 minutes throwing a fit because she wouldn't even try to say "gummies". *sigh*

ThankfulSnail I also think it's ridiculous that your OB doesn't want you to see a chiro. Esp if you go to one certified in the Webster technique do not see the issue.
I'm going to try the support band and if it doesn't help, I'll ask again at my appointment in 2 weeks- it'll be with a different person. Maybe I'll get a different answer.

I stress myself out on the regular about how child care during labor is going to go. My mom will be coming from across the country, but I won't want to tell her to come until I know for sure (so, either an unambiguous water break or hospital admission). Local friends will probably end up taking her for a little while first, but what if we have trouble reaching them in the middle of the night? And they have a toddler too, and car seat math, and oh yeah the dog will have to be dropped off at his boarding too (open 7am to 7pm)... It was so much easier last time!

Is it bad I didn't even ask? I asked around for recommendations for mine... he uses an activator and only does manual adjustments on my stubborn hip. I'm pretty sure I've never brought it up to my MWs and the first time I went was during pregnancy. (He gets a lot of pregnant patients and does children as well)
My support belt also goes under my clothing. I got it from buy buy baby
ThankfulSnail, a good PT can do adjustments too. Does your insurance cover PT? I'd try that. Or just ignore the doctor. 🙈
I'm also stressed about childcare until my mom can fly here. We have several people who volunteered to help, including our next door neighbor whose son attends the same daycare. So we're in good shape, but I just feel like it'll be a lot for my little guy to deal with.
I've had the most annoying cold. It's not bad at all, but it keeps me from sleeping. I want to sleeeeeeeep. Almost Friday peeps.

heisenberg, my doc did offer PT as an option if the support band doesn't help, I'm just not ready to make that commitment yet.
Our options for childcare for DD are:
DH's parents -Live 1 hr away -MIL is a SAHW, but won't drive to us by herself, so FIL would have to leave work if I went into labor during the day. -Very easy to get ahold of -Already have tons of toys, dishes, pack & play, etc. for DD when she stays there
My parents -Live 30 minutes away, but often are at their cabin 2 hrs away -Both retired but have busy social lives -Very difficult to get on the phone- often don't hear it ring or don't have their phones on them when they're out -Have a couple of toys at their house and a pack & play, but not enough to keep DD occupied for a couple of days- we'd have to have a bag packed with toys/puzzles/kid-safe dishes/etc for her for the stay
I have friends who would probably be willing to take her, but none of them live much (if any) closer to us than our parents, and have no kids of their own so I feel like it's a big ask for them to take her, plus they all work full time so could be difficult to get them to us quickly.
I'm leaning toward my ILs but not sure what I'll do if I need to get to the hospital quickly. I guess I might need to have them meet us at the hospital and take DD but I worry MIL will want to stay. Ugh.

I just called the hospital I'm delivering at to request a tour sometime in March since if we go now we'll forget everything by the due date in mid-April. They told me to call back last week of February. Um, ok? I like to plan a little more advance than that.
I also tried to pre-register online and wasn't allowed to because the system says you have to be 30 weeks. I'm 29 weeks 1 day. Huh.

I really want to try and go epidural-free this time and I know I need to get into a natural birth class if I'm going to make that happen (I will have a doula there but I need more planning in advance, I think). We're getting so close I'm worried it might be too late, but we still need to figure out childcare for when we go to the class and I don't want to put the money down before I have that arranged. Ugh, I need to go back to 2nd tri, we're getting too close now!
I should probably decide where I'm going to deliver..
Same.
The town we are in now, I don't trust the hospital. (Lots of long stories.) I told him if I went into sudden labor, to drive to the next town over. That's as far as I got in planning.
(We plan on moving before EDD, so gonna switch hospitals anyway.)

I slept like crap last night & I'm so tired.
Currently debating between napping when DD goes down (which means staying up late to do my homework after class) Or trying to do my homework during her nap so I can go right to bed after class.

There's two places I'm looking at (my MWs deliver at both), both have pros and cons. One is 15-20 minutes away, the other 45-50 minutes. I need to schedule tours and then go from there. Bleh. I hate doing the stupid tours

+1 to the bolded. Probably most of why I didn't want to go ahead and schedule it for this month. I want to have it planned, because that will make me feel accomplished, but I'm not really looking forward to actually doing it.
If I show up in labor, am I really going to care that DH didn't park in the closest place or that I didn't know what the room looked like in advance? Probably not. But I'll be stressed about it between now and then if I don't get it done.

Lol my H moved his car after DS1 was here. I really am only doing them to see what their attitudes are with listening to the mother and her choices. I'm 95% sure of where I'm going to go but I'm going to tour them both to be see.
I do one next weekend and we'll be bringing DS1 with us... this shall be interesting
