@wineandcupcakes I've never thought I should touch a random baby either. Like yeah, babies are cute but I don't know them so the normal thing to do is keep your distance.
I had two people (one was my neighbor and one was my BIL) touch my belly this weekend. I feel the same way about that. Like get out of my personal space. I'm pretty sure the look on my face made it clear it wasn't cool because they both retreated quickly.
piccyami, When DD was just a couple weeks old, we were grocery shopping and the deli clerk actually came out from behind the counter, set the freshly sliced lunch meat in the cart and started touching her cheeks and face!! I instantly saw red, but calmly explained to her that the hands she just used to slice a pound of flesh were now all over my newborn's face. She actually looked shocked and disgusted about what I said. People these days are clueless.

@wineandcupcakes I also started getting comments just recently (28 weeks). Had a client ask me when I was due. I told her eviction day (not even 40 weeks due date!) and she looked at me and replied "are you sure?!"
I worked 16.5 hours yesterday. And 4 of that was spent in surgery removing carpet from a dog's intestines. I almost died. And yet here I am today working another 12 hour shift. I am leaving on time today no matter what! I have cankles you guys! WAH

I don't get it!
Nobody really commented until I was 30 weeks. Now everyone feels like they should tell me I must be due soon, I've dropped, etc etc. One woman just said congrats and I could have kissed her!
The best was last Friday in target. I had a mom actually stop a conversation with her daughter and motion for her to look at me. This was immediately followed by a couple who whispered "omg, she's so low, she must be due soon" and her DH said "it must be twins!!" I actually turned around to say that technically I had 4 weeks left and yes it was twins. Haha. They were mortified!
I had a very similar encounter at Target when I was 36 weeks. I was finally cleared from bed rest, so my friend and I were on our way to the pool to float and needed sunscreen. As I was standing there picking up my sunscreen, this woman with her granddaughter says "would you look at her. Look at how BIG. she must be due any day." Oh man. If looks could kill.

@wineandcupcakes people keep asking me when I'm due because my belly is big and they assume it's soon. I've just been looking at them and saying May. No other info offered. I can tell they don't know what to say at that point. Gotta get my kicks where I can right? ETA: when I say it I keep a totally straight face (it is true after all, and just stare at them like I dare you to say something 😂)
callmeKD I'm sure that's really difficult. That's something we haven't experienced yet, but I'm sure we will be experiencing. I'm dreading it. I hope he gets good and strong so he can come home soon
callmeKD that must have been so rough to leave him!! I can't imagine Any update on him?
Thanks all! I didn't cry when I left them both there because I knew they were together. Leaving him alone breaks my heart.
But the good news - he got his feeding tube out this morning and has been rocking his feedings all day. My H is there with him tonight to do his feedings and he's doing the MMU test tonight. Hoping he's discharged by Tue.
I found out that our insurance has decided I've had enough ultrasounds, and they'll no longer be covering them. The OB said they'd give me a discount, but I almost died from my most recent EOB saying I'm responsible for $500. I'm about to start weekly visits tomorrow (32 weeks) and plan to talk with billing at the OB as well as insurance, but I'm also curious about US frequency. I was told US is the only way to check fluid and growth discrepancies, is this true? Would you think it's pretty standard to get the wand and an US at every appointment? Because I have. And one more, I'm being charged for 2 ultrasounds at every visit, but just one birth fee... does that make sense? TIA!

Have you actually talked to insurance? Most likely your OB is coding it wrong or you need to make sure insurance knows you're having twins. Your OB will insist they are doing it right, speak directly with insurance.
LydiaDeetz, I second schmella's advice. They must be coding it wrong (i.e., not indicating multiples or high-risk or something). Call your insurance directly and find out what the issue is. That sounds completely unreasonable for them to just say welp, we're done!
@wineandcupcakes, schmella, pbandj714, I just got off the phone with insurance. Unfortunately, since I'm using an in-network doctor I'm already getting a negotiated price and they basically said that until I meet my deductible, that is the price, regardless of my unique situation. They did open an investigation as to why I'm being charged for 2 US some visits and 1 on others. I went back through all my EoB and pointed out to them that most every time it was 2, but a couple visits were just 1. He said it didn't sound right to be charged twice, but we'll see. It's probably in some paperwork on file I blindly agreed to and signed with the OB. I just tallied up how many visits I have scheduled @$500 a pop it's $3000 in ultrasounds. This will put me right at our deductible before I give birth, assuming I make it to 38 weeks. Ugh, this just really blows. Thanks for letting me whine.

Ugh, that really sucks. I'm sorry. I remember my eyes bugging out of my head when I was charged for 3 US my first MFM visit since they measured both babies + the wand for my cervical length. Like, seriously?? I get it, but it's still a jab.
LydiaDeetz I can't believe your insurance can just decide they're done paying. Like. Do you cover medically necessary ultrasounds or not?! You can't decide part way through to just stop. Or I guess they can. But they shouldn't be able to! I had one scan that cost over $5000 because it included the fetal echoes and what not. I would have been screwed if I had to pay that.

The problem is that insurance is the only thing we all pay for where e have no idea what we are actually paying. And often when you call, the representatives have no damn idea either.

LydiaDeetz that seems ridiculous. It's hardly the same as 2 separate u/s for them to scan twins. That's nuts. I can't imagine if we were getting charged for them scanning 3 babies plus my cervix each time! I guess the positive is that you won't have to pay for delivery since you'll have met your deductible but still... that just doesn't seem rifjr (ugh) right
I was told today at the OB office that it's not *actually* 2 ultrasounds being charged; it's 2 scans/measurements of whatever they need for that appt. Like the heart doppler for both is 1 charge, measuring 2 heads is one charge, etc. Since the codes aren't listed on my actual EOB, it looks like a double charge, but supposedly it's not. And I'm also supposedly getting a BOGO discount. I looked at the receptionist and was like "Really? $500 OOP per visit is a deal?" No comment from her. I hate acting like a bitch to people who deal with real bitches all day, but really? Also, no more wand checks for me, yay! Babies are both healthy and growing, so I'll stop complaining.
