1. G got sent home yesterday with a fever. I call BS. They said it was 101. G said they retook it before L picked him up and told him it had lowered, but wouldn't tell him to what. When this kid has a fever, he sleeps. A lot. For hours and hours. He is punky and pitiful. He bounced around the house all day yesterday and per L (who is home with him) he is still bouncing around the house and is bored as heck. He hasn't had a fever and we haven't given him anything (Tylenol/Motrin.) Granted, the kid has a cold, but geez. Grumble.
2. Because of this, he is missing the dress rehearsal with his school dance troupe this afternoon.
3. I just had my 3rd (of 4) interviews for a new job at work. I got sweaty (not visibly)and feel like I need deodorant. I don't have any at work. I should.
4. L is sick too...she has a lingering cold.
5. I want to start planning our next vacation. But I think it is to my dad's house...which is more necessity than vacation.

1. I'm being a bum, I woke up at 8, fell back asleep from 9-11:30 and now I'm going to nap again during quiet time. I am just anxious about my induction and I handle anxiety by sleeping, I'll be super rested for Thursday though.
2. Speaking of induction I am super nervous.
3. I should really stop eating from the cafeteria and eat the free food you can order to the room, it's just so gross.
4. My mom arrives on 2/7. I hope we are home by then.
5. My mom smokes, she claims she's cut back, but I am not looking forward to this battle all next week.
6. We need to start boxing up stuff here at the hospital so we don't have a TON to take home with the new baby. It's amazing what you accumulate in a month.
7. I have no idea what to have Julie pack in the diaper bag.
8. I can't wait to have a margarita
9. We have knitted a ton of adorable hats for the NICU while here.
7. I have no idea what to have Julie pack in the diaper bag.
You are going from the hospital to home. Don't stress about it - you won't need to stop to change a diaper or have a feeding. You will have clothes, blankets, and the hospital will give you a pacifier (if you choose to use them.) You don't even really need a diaper bag until your first outing.
Stuff in our diaper bag: Diapers Wipes Diaper cream Hand sanitizer Mini trash bags to wrap up dirty diapers (they may not be stinky now, but just wait!) Changing pad (ours came in the bag) at least 2 change of clothes for the baby (and I kept an extra shirt or 2 in my car for myself.) thin blanket (can be used to put the baby down/use an an extra layer if cold in a restaurant or store/BF covering if needed (those first few weeks are awkward) Pacifiers if you use them A toy or 2 (though not really with a newborn)
1. We decided to have a friend birthday party for M on Saturday. Now we need to decide if we're going to have a theme and if so, what it will be. Any ideas?
2. Last night CET and I were feeling tired by the time we all got home. CET from work and M and I from the park. Earlier in the afternoon M had a friend and his mom over to play and they made quite a mess in our front room. They were very cute together. They played hard for 2.5 hours. I expected her to take a nap afterwards but she didn't so we walked to the park and played some more. It's nice to get out of the house. Anyways, we all were tired and I wasn't in the mood to cook so we went out to dinner at the last minute. I think it was just what we needed- a break from routine.
3. After dinner I made tumeric paste for my tumeric lattes. Tried one this morning and it's pretty good! Except my hands are died yellow from testing it to make sure it was cool before I added the honey.
5. M and I went for an 8.2 mile run this morning. We ran with a friend and her daughter for 4 miles of it. Those 4 miles flew by!
CETs
6- Thanks to TTT, I now know what I'm having for dinner tonight
7- I keep getting distracted trying to plan our summer Europe trip. Got our tickets months ago when Finnair released some business class award space, now sorting out what to do with it. CAR's parents may join us, which will be great for them to see some new places & get some time with M (and more hands to wrangle what will at that point be an 18 month old) but it means trying to sort out arrangements for 5 people with will what will be about 6-7 different airline tickets/segments, airbnbs or hotels in 3-4 cities, and some ferry tickets. It'll get done, it just takes time.
8- The above needs a follow up. Thinking Helsinki, Tallinn, and Copenhagen for this trip. We've only seen Copenhagen of those and loved it.
9- Went for a run at lunch & it felt good! Trying to get into a schedule.
10- Everything about the news is terrifying/angering, but I can't stop checking in.
