Our house is about 800 sq ft so I do feel you on the space limitations.
We're rocking 440 SF over here.
Everyone pray that H gets an awesome job so we can move!!
In other news, both babies have a bad diaper/rash yeast infection. We just took a baking soda bath and now they are hanging out naked to air out. So far we have poop on 3 different towels. I am home alone. HELP
Have any of you left your babies for multiple nights? How did it go? What do I need to know? steph you just did right?
We flew to a wedding in October - left Friday morning, came back Sunday night. It went really well for us. We FF though? So I didn't have that to consider. What kinds of questions do you have? We are also going away to a wedding in June. I wish we could take the kids but plane tickets for 4 are just too expensive!

We just got back from a weekend away visiting family. DH and I went skiing. I haven't been since before ds1 and boy am I sore! It was a lot of fun, though!
I left on a Monday evening, came back late on a Thursday. I have a bunch of milk in the freezer so DH used that. I laid outfits and pajamas out for both kids for each day I'd be gone. I bought some gerber baby food because I knew DH wouldn't have time to purée anything (LO actually can't get enough of the gerber apples and chicken now lol). I made sure to give him a bath right before I left, I knew that'd be hard for DH to do on his own.
I slacked on pumping while I was away and now I'm having trouble catching back up

bocaburger I second the laying out clothes and baths. H has traveled every week this year. Literally. My bath standards are different when I'm solo 😉

bocaburger I was lurking and saw the pic of your house the other day. That was intense. But I do think we tend to fill the spaces we are in so in all you're maybe at an advantage? Either was fx for a new job for your H!!

Thanks! He actually has a big interview this weekend (I'm going with him so I can check out the area, that's why we are leaving the babies) and at least 4 more over the next 6 weeks, all in very different areas. Stressful but exciting! Keep your FX!
Also, WOW to your H travelling every week! That's intense!
My kitchen floor has been driving me crazy lately, so finally I got down and scrubbed it tile by tile during nap today... I should probably go post this in the exercise thread! My poor arm!
Is anyone else having trouble reading to their baby? She is super jazzed about her board books and grabs them out of my hands. Lol. Girlfriend is intense.

We do bedtime stories with both kids. I've started giving ds2 a board book to play with because ds1 keeps getting annoyed that his brother keeps grabbing his books. Luckily he hasn't ripped any pages yet!

My DD was like that until recently. We read two books. I read one and she looked at the one she was holding. Only recently does she pay attention to the story I'm reading. Girls show who's boss early!

Oh, you can read to your kid? Mine is so jazzed at bed time that all we can do it talk and roll about the crib. I want to read to her but she is so "not now, I gotta stick my legs through the slats and eat this pacifier and tell you a story."

I've taken a break. We'll circle back.
Omg so much talking!! She vocalizes almost constantly. It's precious and I love it but there are times at which it's not appropriate--like when her brother was in a Scripps early round spelling bee last week and she was babbling over top of the contestants
LO doesn't nap so wonderfully at daycare. He took 2 naps there today, 10:30-11:10 and 3:30-4:10. He came home and was so cranky. i finally got him to relax and he fell asleep at about 6:30. He's still sleeping. Poor exhausted baby bear. I'm guessing he's going to wake up the second i fall asleep like HI MOM I MISSED YOU HI!

G loves to help turn the pages (usually in the wrong direction). M likes to eat the corners. Reading to both of them at the same time is a real adventure.
bocaburger you tagged me a while back asking how I was handling all the anti-muslim sentiment. First, thank you so much for thinking of me. Second, suffice it to say...I buried my head in the sand the past month until things died down a little. Not the best strategy, but it kept me sane. I was openly discriminated against for the first time ever (I was asked to leave a restaurant because I was "making other patrons nervous"), and it really got me down for a bit.
Things otherwise are pretty ok. Ex and I hashed out a visitation agreement and that is going well so far. LO still refuses solids and bottles but I just refuse to fight that battle. We will try again in another month or so.
Sakinah, I am so sorry I can not believe that you were asked to leave, that is so not right even a little bit. I can not believe it! Wow!!! Just wow! So many hugs lady!

I'm so effing sorry but my sorries mean nothing. It doesn't make it right or erase the event so I'll keep my sorries. But if that had happened in my presence, I would have not sat silently and watched. Not a bloody chance.
joy there were some very kind little old ladies who also left behind me and sat with me outside while I regrouped. It happened so quickly that I literally said nothing. I just stood up and left.
I've heard that POC have been having many issues at that establishment recently. I'm not surprised at all though.
