So effing happy it's Friday. This week has stretched on forever. DH finally got authorized for his travel tomorrow after freaking out about leaving it til the last minute (again) and now is instead moping that it went through and he actually has to go. Love him dearly, but I need him out of my hair for awhile so I can just concentrate on DS and cleaning the house without him in my way.

Anyone else's LO's starting to suddenly take longer to eat? DS was doing great for awhile - eating in about 15 minutes, but now he's extending it to 30 again. Momma wants to sleep.

macaronmama, G can go anywhere from 10 minutes to 45 these days. There is no rhyme or reason behind it. He averages 15-20 minutes and only eats on one side per feeding. The worst are the 45 minute ones overnight. I feel you on wanting to sleep.

DD is normally a super chill baby. Today she just wants to be held. I don't mind the baby snuggles, but mama needs a break. Add in that DS is being super whiney today and I am already ready for MH to get home to help. Only one more hour until DS' naptime....

This was me yesterday afternoon. I got everything sorted and organized, then she woke up 30 minutes into her usual 2 hour nap. So everything went back into the baskets. At least its organized now?

Relatedly, no solids until 6 months and sitting up independently here, because breast milk poop FTW. And no mess.

The lady that called me is well aware of what BF poop looks like and that it's loose. I think they're trying to be sticklers and basically looking for any signs because a bug is going around that room. But even if you read articles, it basically says even watery stool is within the normal range as is pooping frequently or after every feed. It would need to be abundantly clear to me that this is different or that fever/ fussiness is present for me to call diarrhea on a BF baby.

hikingmama222 hope you guys don't get too stir crazy with all that snow! I am so ready for some warm weather and regular fresh air.
I'm working this am. Last night's sleep was no worse than it has been recently, but for some reason I'm super tired. I had cpr class last night and then my aunt stayed over so I think it was all the socializing and being an adult, haha. I could totally use a second lunch right about now too.
I'm still debating about getting a second opinion for our lip tie and tongue tie from a pedi dentist too fem. How is LO feeding now? The ENT lip tie clip didn't do much to help us. And it's starting to reattach, which makes me feel awful for putting her through it for no benefit. Even though I didn't know it wouldn't help.
Depending on sleep I will prolly start purees sometime after 4 months. I made all of DD1s. I dont think I'll be able to do the same for DD2 but I'd like to do some. I've always joked that I'd start with prunes because of DD1s issues.

sanibel21 today I don't see a big change in feeding, but she's kind of swollen so I'm sure it's a little painful. The dentist recommended that I follow up with a LC, chiropractor and an OMT (I think this is an occupational therapist that specializes in feeding issues). I have a chiropractor appointment set up and will meet with the LC she has on staff next week. They told me it might take 2-3 weeks because she basically has to relearn how to eat. Did you do the stretches afterwards? When did your LO have it done?

She had it done 8 days ago. The ENT didn't even tell me to do stretches!! I asked and she was kind of "meh" about it. I read to do it online so did a little, but obviously not enough. Thank you for that database. I had seen that online and the two for my state are the two that some good LCS recommended too. So I'm glad to have another rec for that database. I just don't know what to do. I'm kind irritated and anxious about the whole situation. But thank you for respinding. Hope your LO responds well!

My new-dad friend called me today on his day off and talked at me for an hour about how hard it is being a new parent and he doesn't know how his wife (also my friend) and I do it. I feel awful because I feel like he thinks we're making it look so easy. He and I are both on meds for depression but I think he still thinks I'm doing great. I don't want to undermine his own not-doing well by saying I'm not, but I have told DH I think he need to take new-dad out a few times soon to dad-commiserate and get some dude time. That and I need the weather to look up so I can take him paintballing (new-dad's fave activity).

Got my one-year review back this afternoon unexpectedly, apparently I missed it while I was maternity leave. I'm "truly" competent (whew), lol.

They told me to do them 6 times a day. They told me to look up Luna Lactation Post Frenotomy Care Exercises on YouTube if you want to see what they're having me do.

They did say sometimes the ties don't create a big problem or they can be fixed with exercises instead. So maybe an OT could help if it didn't fix a lot and you're still having trouble?

So, change of plans for us. Apparently, my stepdad invited my sister out to their house this weekend because he thought it would be cool to have all the grandkids together. He's not wrong, but they just don't have enough room for all these toddlers and babies. So. I decided to come to their house today and will leave after my hair appt tomorrow. My sister isn't coming until tomorrow morning, so the kids will still get to play, but we won't have to finagle sleeping arrangements for everyone. FFFC: I'm annoyed. I purposely made our plans so that we could be home with H tonight before he works all weekend, and now we're here. H is at home grilling fresh ribeyes. Grrrrr.

In other news, I have the next step interview for the Clinical Nurse position on Monday at 1:30 with the practice manager. It sounds like is going to be a pretty involved process. They have quite a few applicants so everyone is going to interview with her, then they'll narrow it down and the candidates left will interview with the current clinical nurses, and then the last candidates standing will interview with the surgeons and the final decision made from there. 😳

becole our daycare pulls crap like that too. The last room DS2 was in, they would wait and take his temp immediately after waking up from his nap and the kid gets so hot when he sleeps. Guaranteed a smidge over 101 every time. They would call me to come get him and by the time I got there, he would be back to normal. Royally pissed me off.

I think I'm going to ask that they take the temp in front of me before I leave.
They didn't wind up sending the little home but wrote "loose" next to all of his poops.
Yes- they're all loose. I agree. He's not sick.
