I binge watched that show when I was on maternity leave with DS1!
My baby isn't sleeping well tonight. He did 9:30-12:30, 1-2, and then up again at 3:30. He's back down again but I'm super awake for some reason, just looking at houses all over the country on Redfin.
My quiet moment is about to implode. AV is fussing on me. Gone are the nights of 10+ hour stretches. She woke me at midnight, 1am, and 5am and here we are at 7am.
So hi. I've been MIA. Went back to work Wednesday in the office and then worked from home Thurs and Fri - with both babies and zero help. But I did it!!! That's why I've been a bad TCFer. And I actually got a ton done. It only took me 3 months but I finally understand my babies now.
And thank you to whoever originally gave us that website with baby sleep times - that was like the light that went off. (vinolove or hangry ). Now that I really realize the whole feed, play, nap routine we've had several amazing days. Although she needs to be rocked to sleep most of the naps (and it takes a good 20 mins to get her to down) I can put AV down once she's out and she'll stay napping for 30-40 mins. Things get hairy around 4:00 when they are both more up/alert/fussy but then H gets home about an hour later so it's manageable.
Oooh kleigh, can you share that website? Last night was miserable, I still got a 4 hour stretch but I'd like to go to sleep around 11pm, not 1am! I'm sure going out to eat with the neighbors didn't help but the coming week is going to be a nightmare! I have to drive DH back to airport on Monday, I have an OB appt. Tuesday, L has his 2-month check up and shots Wednesday, Tanner has a 0700 Vet appt. over an hour away on Thursday, and I'm not sure when my mom can come back up to help! I may be alone till Saturday evening but she's hopeful for Wednesday! All this was booked with DH being scheduled home but his job called him back a week early. It was hard to pass up 2 weeks of pay for 1 week of extra work which is the equivalent to half his paycheck! (He gets paid for the week of time off he misses as well as the week he's working) We could use that money for a nice down payment on a used newish car! I may not survive lol
Still tired, though D did give me a longer first stretch last night. But then it took me at least an hour to fall back to sleep. I was thinking about one of my cases that is likely to go to trial this summer. Like, planning my opening and my cross of the plaintiff. I mean wtf.I don't go back to work for at least 2 more months!
Today not much going on. Spending some family time since before last night the kids and I hadn't seen H since last Sunday. This afternoon we're taking them to the town Valentine's Day party. Gotta be good and avoid the sweets!

kleigh We've watched that show all the way through at least 6 times now! It's what we put on when we just want TV on but don't want to pay attention.
C had a pretty good night. He went to bed early and slept for 7 hours!! Then we got a 3 hour stretch. I don't think we're planning on doing anything today. H is making breakfast then has a hair cut. My mom texted me with an FYI that she has nothing going on today lol. Maybe we should take her up on it and go out. But tomorrow we're going to a friend's for the Superbowl so it'll be nice to have a low key family day today.

dashook I do that with work once in a while too. I'll start thinking about what I need to do when I go back and then I have to stop myself because it's still weeks away.

jubilantsquirrel my H and I have spent many a night going through houses all over the country and coming up with new futures for our family. I love all the little details in that one!
You're amazing kleigh! I feel like I'm finally starting to understand M now too. I wonder if I could go back in time if I would be able to get it quicker/have handled everything better.
cheshie6 M didn't start going to bed before 9 until we started bedtime routine around 7:30. Before that I was starting around 9/10 and she was wayyy overtired and overstimulated and I had no idea. That gave us so many midnight and later bedtimes. IIRC you have trouble sleeping like me so I fully understand the frustration of wanting to sleep, but not being able to.

Just got home from work. Sitting in my car with a sleep babe in her car seat. I'm going to enjoy the quiet for as long as possible since I know the lovely dogs will wake her if I try to ninja her into the house. I'm pooped. It was a long week.
Yesterday was H's birthday and he could really use a redo. It was just one of those days that everything that could go wrong, did. He didn't get home until 8 so we quick made a steak dinner to enjoy so that one thing could be enjoyable. The plan was to bathe M, nurse her to sleep, and then eat since it was already so late. The MF big dog ate the steaks. Cherry on top of the shit day cake. I still feel terrible.
Hi all. Sorry I haven't checked in much this week..Just soaking up baby cuddles and didn't do much. I got out to a soul cycle class this morning and had to chuckle that the only spot was right up front perpendicular to most of the class...No pressure for first real cardio in months! And the instructor is this ripped young guy that was impressed it was my first class after having a baby (granted it was dark and I was wearing all black..And said baby is 2 months old), so that was nice.
Laying low here. MH may meet up with some friends doing a dad's night out after bedtime, which is funny, but would be good for him.
sophiegrace OMG no! I can't believe your dog ate them. I'd be so pissed!
Sophie is the best. I'm sure it's obvious to everyone here that she poops rainbows and can do nothing wrong in my eyes, but FFSC I don't particularly care for any of the big dogs. I just don't get them.
vinolove happy anniversary!! sophiegrace ong I would have been furious too!!
I just made the rookie mistake of painting my nails when D's bedtime is only like 15 minutes away. D'oh! Why did I do that?
H has her upstairs right now, doing her bath. She is screaming her head off. I feel so bad; she never acts like this for me. But I feel obligated to let him bathe her on the weekends since he doesn't get to see her at all during the week.
Hi everybody! Last couple days have been busy so please pardon my absence.
DH got back yesterday from the week in CA. Both children slept til 8:30 this morning, bless them, which I could've enjoyed except that I'd agreed to meet a friend for b'fast and she's an early bird. We compromised on 8:30--she originally suggested 7!!!! (And yes, she has 2 kids and is pregnant).
After breakfast I took C and met my mom for some shopping, while DH took B to the fishing/boat store. Win/win. Just got C down, B's been asleep since 8, and I think we're going to literally Netflix and chill...
kleigh I love HIMYM, but DH doesn't. He's weird. Very impressed that you took care of the babies AND got your work done! I can barely do anything beyond picking up now and then and feeding us.
I did see my relatives this morning. DH wants to go watch my cousin play soccer at 8am tomorrow. I'm probably going to bed early so I might be down. But I've had such a shitty week. And I'm still f-ing sick. I'm losing my voice now. Also, I figured out that my cat might be sick so we will be going to the vet.
Lilah is sleeping on me now. If nothing else, at least I have her, Lillian, and DH to lift my spirits.
sophiegrace, is Sophie your first dog? I find with Nala (my first) she poops rainbows but Tanner took awhile to grow on me! Now he's my cuddle buddy. Skye eats crackers for me 7 out of 10 times lol! It's my fault because her personality needs activity and in the last few months of pregnancy I've been waning! Now I feel it's too cold most of the time for L! Skye likes to lick a lot but she loves to cuddle. She also sleeps so soundly that any noise will startle her thus causing her to bark. @sarahwithanh, I'm sorry you're losing patience but hopefully going backwards will help him move forward again! ((Hugs ))
The truck is mostly fixed, a spring is broke and the part won't be in till Tuesday but with appointments and no mom, I'm stuck waiting till Friday or the following Monday before getting it finished. +1 for not getting into HIMYM! But in a pinch, I will leave it on for background noise. I don't know but I think DH is messing up L. In his attempts to get him to sleep longer, or make sure L "really" needs to get up, etc. he's inadvertently creating a monster! I want L to learn how to soothe himself back to sleep without a pacifier. Any blip that comes out of him, and DH wants to use a pacifier. I agree a pacifier is better than his hand but I feel like it can be easy to not notice the hunger signs by using the pacifier. DH will also put a hand on L whenever he stirs which doesn't teach L to go back to sleep on his own. then L wakes up at 05:30 and DH will change the diaper and now both L and him are asleep but I'm awake!?! Whereas on my own, L would be up at 3 maybe 4 and I'd get back to sleep quicker!?! Maybe I'm a grump for being stuck awake!
