I hate how hard it is to find reliable information regarding herbal teas. Just want to drink some for my throat but I'm constantly second guessing ingredients.
onesweetworld - My grandmother just put my grandfather in a facility right before Christmas. He has Alzheimer's and it was well past the point of her being able to do it on her own. It's so much better for her now (she can sleep at night, not stress about him, take care of herself). It just took her a while to be okay in her own head about doing it. She felt guilty for a long time, but we kept telling her there was no way anyone expected her to take care of him in his state all on her own.
Virtual hug to you and your family because it's tough.
AL finally came back out with the matching amber necklace to mine for DS1. Guess who just bought all the child sizes so we can have matching necklaces again since he outgrew his 11" one! This girl. Oops
Now, to decide if I want to get them for DS2 as well

@wineandcupcakes eh it's the same. I drew a line around it with pen and it hasn't gotten any bigger. But still red and itchy as hell. I have a call in to my PCP but they take forever to get back to you. Ah well. When I get home I'm going to scour my house and see if I touched anything out of the ordinary.
I also hate quiet baby days. Hopefully your girls perk up for you.
ThankfulSnail we need to start potty training my 2.5 year old but wanted to wait until baby was here. I'm dreading it.
@wineandcupcakes I always wondered if the neighbors thought I was nuts for picking up dog poo in the backyard in PJ pants with my belly hanging out but both sets moved out at the end of the year hope the babies wake up soon
My left elbow is still bothering me from my fall on the 27th. I think it's probably just a sprain/strain and there isn't much to do except rest it and take Advil but I'm debating calling my PCP and getting it checked.
Chiro went well, she thinks Thursday might be our last visit. N has been putting on a lot of weight so things are going better for sure on the Breastfeeding front.

Browsing between meetings today but +1 to this. I bought some red raspberry leaf tea and want to start drinking it now because it's yummy but I can only find info on people drinking it during 3rd tri. And a limited amount of anecdotal info on people who start right at like 5 weeks.

Daycare just texted that one of the kids tested positive for strep. Ugh. Last time, DD didn't get it, but I did. Now I'm all paranoid that I have a sore throat.

I drank it through 2nd as well...
It's pricey but I like Birds and Bees's peaceful pregnancy tea
When I was at my 20-week appointment on Friday, the midwife told me about scheduling the next two and I learned they are awesome and give you the GTT drink to take home at your 24-week appt. You drink it at home and come in just as the hour is up at your 28-week appt. I love it! No sitting around their office for an hour. I can distract myself from it with TV or something.
@wineandcupcakes - Guess they need some rest after a busy day? Wake up, babies!
General question to everyone: At what point are you "supposed" to be feeling regular movement and be worried if you don't feel it? I'm just starting to feel movement more, but it's just pokes here and there. I'm just at 20 weeks, though, so I know it's early. Just trying to mentally prepare.

marshian is this where I confess that I'm glad that I get to drink the drink at the appt? I plan on bringing a book and reading while H stays home from work and watches DS. It's going to be like vacation. Yes, my life is sad.
hpnegirl and everyone else who's already taken the GTT for any pregnancy: How bad do you feel when you drink it? I've read accounts of people being light-headed and nauseous. I'm wondering if I can drink it at work and then go to my appointment, but I'll be at work for about 40 minutes after drinking it. Will I be functional or miserable?

My H will be at work and we have no kids yet, so it will be vacation for me at my house if I do it there! Enjoy the time away from it all!

marshian I definitely recommend bringing some kind of snack for afterwards. I was dizzy and nauseous after I had mine with my 1st pregnancy so I plan on bringing a granola bar and maybe a yogurt or something for afterwards. I didn't feel normal again until the next day.

marshian, re: fetal movement, they just told me to start doing kick counts at my 28 week appointment. I found that in the last couple of weeks, movement has really ramped up. Don't worry too much at this point.
Doing the 1 hr GTT I did not feel bad at all. You will probably be functional.
I've done the 3 hr twice this pregnancy and didn't start feeling awful until about 2 hours in both times, and that was with fasting since the night before, so it was around 15 hours with no food, plus I actually had lower glucose levels than typical so my experience even with that is probably not typical. I think if I had the option, I could have been functional working up until that point, so unless you have an incredibly poor reaction, I'd imagine you'll be fine.

Did you have less during 2nd tri? Like just one a day and then by 3rd tri more than that?

Maybe the excitement from last nights game!
I believe around 24-25 weeks for regular movement?
I always found that after a busy day, R had a more quiet day. Quiet days still made me anxious, but there was definitely a link between how much he moved one day and how quiet he could be the next.
And it could have been the excitement from last night! R used to kick like crazy during intense scenes watching Game of Thrones.

I felt the worst after the hour was up so for me I would have been fine being at work those 40 minutes. Definitely bring a snack. I brought a granola bar and it wasn't enough to stop the sugar crash. The worst was probably 20-30 minutes after the hour was up.

marshian I felt totally fine doing my gtt test with DD and this time with DS I only got a teeny bit nauseous but I also legitimately CHUGGED the drink because I was in a hurry lol.
As far as movement goes, I didn't feel DD move consistently until 25-26 weeks. Other things can affect it too like placenta position.

It's turned my stomach both times but I didn't feel super awful until after they drew my blood. Both times, I had a 45+ minute commute so I drank it on the way. The sugar crash is real and I stuffed my face with protein right after they drew the blood.

I have two cups a day... it also helps with constipation, which is partially why I have two cups. I like that's it's not completely RRL tea and has other stuff in it so I felt/feel comfortable having two cups a day.
With DS1, I drank a teavana blend that had RRL in it (they no longer sell it, boo..) and had 3-4 cups a day the last month and only periodic cup prior to that. I don't care for the flavor of straight up RRL tea.

28-30 weeks. A lot of things contribute and some babies aren't as active as others

So true! And I was so on edge last night! They have perked up luckily. I'm so sad for pregnancy to end, but then I have a day like this and I can't wait for my c/s in 4 days!
ETA: +1 to GOT. That show kills me with anxiety.
In case I forget to come back in 4 days...GOOD LUCK!!!
