Things are changing fast around here and I can't keep up! The baby is walking all over the place now, but I wouldn't say she's 100% yet. More like 50/50. She is so cute!! She is also trying to climb everything all of a sudden so I have to pay more attention to where she is. I guess DS has decided she's a person now that she's walking and he's actually attempting to get her to play with him. It's super cute, but she is not impressed lol.
DS is also having some sort of language explosion. He was talking a lot already, but now he wants to have a running conversation and will not shut up lol. He's making pretty big sentences and trying very hard to communicate. It's getting easier to understand him!
My big girl and I went to a bday party this weekend and she basically ignored me the whole time. I also registered her for K for the fall. Gulp.
M decided this weekend that walking was now going to be his primary mode of transportation. I think he was probably 70/30 in favor of walking the whole weekend. It is about time now that he is over 15 months. He has been taking steps for about 5-6 weeks so I am glad he finally got the courage to just go for it. It is just so proud of himself each time he reaches his destination. I love it!
I am struggling through Monday and trying to keep my mind off our RE appointment later this week. I am nervous for many reasons, even though I shouldn't be. My main concern is that I am traveling at the end of this month and next month. That means, depending on O date, I could be out both cycles for treatment. I really don't want to put it off any longer but I guess that isn't up to me. I am hoping for short cycles so we can at least do a tx cycle in March before I head out.
Speaking of traveling and treatment...I really need to think about starting to wean M. I dropped our weekend mid-day nursing this weekend and he didn't even really seem to notice. He was too busy most of the time. I am more nervous about our mornings and evenings though. He is pretty insistent on those still. I think we will try to drop the evening one next week. It isn't even a nurse to bed, he nurses at like 5:30pm so it shouldn't impact anything too drastically. I have such mixed feelings. I am really looking forward to my freedom in that regard but I am sad to have an end in sight. I know I should be proud we made it 15+ months, and I am, I just know I will miss it. (even if it drives me crazy most days)

RoLoMa Glad your little guy is walking! It is just the cutest and seems like such a big change! I'm sorry you have to wean. Does your RE require it for treatment? You made it so far and you'll soon have another BFing relationship!

I am not sure if our RE will require it for treatment but since I will be taking Femara most likely, and there isn't much info out there if it is safe or not, I would rather not risk it either way. Also, I will be gone for 4 days at the end of this month and I would really like to not leave him without having him weaned. I am sure H could distract him and we could pick it back up when I return but I am afraid he would be sad or confused and I would feel really guilty. I never planned to BF this long anyway and don't particularly want to BF while pregnant so it seems like as a good a time as any.
The walking is so cute! He still looks like a little drunk man and holds his arms out and over his head for balance. I am glad your little is on the move too! I was hoping for him to start walking but now that he has I realize how tiring it is! He is in to EVERYTHING!
Clara came down with the flu over the weekend. She was really sick on Saturday, urgent care almost sent us to the hospital, but then the meds kicked in and she was almost like new Saturday night! So relieved. I'm home with her today, but she'll be back at school tomorrow. Hopefully no one else gets it. Margs has been a bit of a wreck, snotty for two weeks but not getting worse or better. Can't tell if it's a food thing, teething, or just a cold.
ETA Margs has been really adorable lately. This is such a fun age!

Glad she's feeling better byjove. I've basically resigned myself to someone being sick every day whil school is in session. DS is the only one who seems to avoid it but I'm beginning to think he just doesn't act sick unless he's super sick.
Charlie's still not walking, but apparently he picked up the word "cheese" and has been saying it (asking for it, really) constantly so that's been amusing. He's also started "cleaning" (wiping floors and surfaces with paper towels and then throwing them in the garbage can) which is hilarious. May as well start him young!

M is obsessed with putting (every)things in the garbage. Yesterday he found the diaper bag I don't use anymore and there were some old diapers in it. He took them out, walked all the way to the garbage can, and threw them away. He was totally on a mission from the moment he found them. These kids are so funny.
L has been sick on and off for the last month After a long cold and an ear infection I think we're finally on the mend! He's finally walking most of the time too!

I opened the garbage can the other day and his sippy cup and teething ring were in there! Little stinkers. It does crack me up though. I remember my nephew being fixated on garbage, too!
Margs has had a runny nose for several weeks and it is finally turning green. Ugh. I really hope we can avoid antibiotics. I think WW9 is in full effect too.

You know, before I was a parent of a school age kid I always thought "why the hell can't people keep their kids' noses wiped?" Well now I know. Because the runny noses just go on forever and what's the point after the millionth wipe.
I probably should have kept my oldest home today but she really wanted to go so I gave her some Tylenol and took her. She looks horrible now but is still begging to go to gymnastics. Poor thing. We're not going and I'm guessing she won't be at school tomorrow. Other two have faucets for noses. I realized that I have felt good for only two weeks since the beginning of December. Awesome.

Hi everyone! We've had the flu all week. I started coming down with it over the weekend. Then F ran a 104 temp all night Monday night. He's never had one that high. It was scary. I took him to the dr Tuesday and he was positive for flu. R had a low temp and runny nose for a couple of days but I'm hoping he got a really mild case. It's horrible here. They shut all the schools down this week because so many are sick.
F bounced back fast and I'm feeling better today. That's my only news, I guess. Oh R has started saying 'yeah'. He answers so many questions with yeah. Even when I'm not talking to him. He also say 'Hello! Yeah yeah yeah' in the phone. And he's making it very clear when he needs help/wants me to do something. When did he get so big?!

obscurereference I cracked up about your wiping noses comment. I was just having that exact conversation with a friend the other day. Oh the judgments I made before having kids!!
Day 1 of no morning nursing went ok I guess. He was confused and mad but I am sure he forgot all about it by now. I handled it pretty well but I am sure the shock of being done will come when we drop the evening session in a couple of days. It is good timing because my period is due soon so I am sure my supply is down anyway. My boob doesn't even hurt from skipping it.
It is supposed to be in the 50s here today and tomorrow. I think we might take a little trip to the zoo tomorrow to get out of the house. We got a yearly pass for Christmas and I would like to get as much use out of it as we can. Our zoo is tiny and perfect for little kids. There is also a home and garden show going on that we have tickets to if we want to go. I want to but I guess we'll have to see how M is after the zoo. I am SO ready for summer and warm weather to be back.
I have a work meeting in Atlanta at the end of this month. It will be my first time traveling without M. Hold me and send wine!

byjove I don't understand how these things just go on and on. The baby is all sick again, too, seemingly overnight. I think I might drop in to the ped tomorrow since she's messing with her ear and we can at least get an ear infection cleared up.
